Duncan was the better player than Kobe
Duncan was the greatest teammate of all time.
Kobe was a terrible teammate.

Duncan was selfless taking below market contract for the benefit of his team.
Kobe refuses to take any paycuts and forces ownership to pay him in his twilight.

Everyone wants to play with Duncan
Nobody wants to play with Kobe

Duncan plays for one of the greatest coaches of all time for his entire career.
Kobe helps 4 coaches get fired in the last 4 years.

Duncan wins 5 rings and 1 bronze.

Felt the hatred to Kobe there but it's true. He didn't want any pay cuts resulting to Lakers having a very poor standing in the past couple of years.

Why didn't Tim Duncan write a letter to basketball? Why no retirement tour? Why?

Just noticed that the Lakers are winning big against Golden State in the summer league.

That's a sign they may recover in some years and go to the playoffs. See a team with so much tradition sucking so bad in NBA is kind of sad
Lakers will improve this season because Kobe has retired already, they can play at their best game as there is not VIP in the team, Clarkson will be the main man I guess.

Tim Duncan retires as all-time Spurs leader in:
· Points: 26,496
· Rebounds: 15,091
· Blocks: 3,020
· Games: 1,392

One of the greatest players I've ever seen play and hands down a candidate for the best leader the NBA has ever seen. Certified top ten player of all time! First Kobe and now Duncan Shocked Who's next in line?

duncan is one of the most underrated players of all time.  I dont think people
will actually understand how good he was til years later. (like tony gwynn)
Exactly, duncan is a very good player at his prime, that is why the spurs are getting championship because of him but just like the saying goes no one is invincible, time has come for him to face reality that he needs to retire because he's not getting any younger.

Draymond Green was arrested for assault on Sunday in East Lansing, Michigan

I think He kick someone in the nuts and I expect a LeBron Fan on ...

Dude is rich, why would he do an assault?

Are you sure it is true news? Or do you mean something else?

everyone thought that it's another center who will play nba and be forgotten but years after the domination of spurs twin tower together with david robinson, duncan show that it's not the power for you to be a star like shaq, it's the talent built in to him who dominate the boards a powerful center showed up and create his own history.

LOL, what kind of joke is this? Guess he thought he can get away by kicking balls off the court too. By the way, What about sexual assault? That includes making contact, not just threatening to do so. Grin
Draymond has no self control. As an athlete you will get people talking trash to them. You think hes the only one who has people talking trash to him? Theres people talking trash to him in nba games but he does nothing.

By the way I read the article about this issue a while ago. There's a certain line adults should not cross, and the guy talking to Draymond Green crossed it first. Not saying what Draymond did was right, but I certainly don't blame him.

Since Kobe and Duncan retired at the same time they will both be eligible for the hall of fame in the same year. Shocked

Kobe and Duncan both retire in the same season, in polar opposite ways, pretty much encapsulating their career personas.

We just lost the two legends most of us grew up watching. Sad.

Likely Manu and Parker but hoping for not as they still have those beast performance even at their age together with Timmy. They still have that Spurs power. Actually Duncan's retirement is different from Bryant's retirement in terms of the current power in their role. Duncan can still play and maintained his power in his territorial area which is the paint that will include points, rebounds and blocks. On other hand, we all know that Kobe isn't playing well know that's why it's good for him to hang his jersey now and live as one of the NBA legends.

Jalen Rose said multiple in his podcasts that there was a strong chance for Westbrook going to the Spurs. For me it's crazy as I don't know how he will fit but it will definitely be a massive upgrade on Parker who has been a shadow of himself lately. Leonard & Westbrook along with the rest of the Spurs could be a very interesting scenario.

Duncan's definitely my all time great at PF, I'm sure there are many other candidates but Tim is the best one I've ever witnessed. Amazing foot technique, defense, Mr. Fundamental to the core while being not the most gifted physically. I think he made a very wise decision, could've done it sooner too but just the previous season he was doing very well. Age catches up to everyone real quick though...and every year after 35 it's a steep decline.

Breaking News:

Tim Duncan Announces Retirement

No doubt one of the most powerful power house with calm attitude in the league. A loyal one and really a monster in the paint. He is one of the Spurs roster that make a championship on a year in 3 decades (90's (1999) , 20's (2003,2005,2007) , 2010's (2013)). We didn't see him became a weak one while on his journey.

I'd like to see Gasol and Duncan's twin tower defense next season but look like we can't see it now.

Congrats Timmy! Your a legend!

It will be Gasol and Aldridge manning their Center. I think Manu will retire soon as well probably next offseason then Parker.

Yeah Spurs paint will now be in the hands of Gasol and Aldridge.

Let's see Parker's decision after Rio Olympics. His team won the qualifying match for the olympics and sure he will played first for hiscountry before going in for a retirement.
