Klay Thompson is also an elite perimeter defender

Was, not is.
I still don't like giving him a contract like this. Sure 50mil for 3 years for a player like him sounds like a good deal but I have a bad feeling about this.
I wouldn't be surprised if he misses at least half the season due to injuries, that wouldn't be anything new.  Cry
True that they need some defense, not sure though if an aging Klay can fill that gap to be honest.
Dallas trusts him, which is why he got that contract. Actually, I'm not as concerned about him getting injured now; my first concern is whether he can still play like he did in the past. Specifically, I'm talking about his very high percentage in 3-point shooting and his catch-and-shoot ability—because he was awful with the Warriors, especially in games that mattered most.

Lastly, I don't like his character anymore. The way he went out at GSW was an embarrassment in my eyes. Thinking he deserves a lot of money because of "legacy" is just hilarious. They gave him a max 4 year contract when he didn't even play 2 years of it, and still he thinks he deserves more without any production.  Roll Eyes

We don't know what happened behind the scenes, though. After all, this is just a business; if both camps couldn't reach an agreement, they had to part ways. But as a Warriors fan, I'll never forget how clutch Klay was and how he helped the Warriors win championships.

A neighbor asked me today what would happen to the first five of the Dallas Mavericks after acquiring Klay Thompson, and it also got me thinking. First, I told him that an open spot already happened since they didn't sign Derrick Jones Jr. again. That spot will be for Klay. The Mavs actually got weaker on the defensive end but they are a glass cannon now which could also be scary.

I think their defense is fine; they just got outplayed by the Celtics. When they beat the Wolves to qualify for the finals, that was already proof that they have a working defense, so let's hope they improve their weaknesses so we can see them in the finals again. Having Klay Thompson is a huge lift for their offense as they now have a complete threat both inside and outside. Klay is a shooter, consistent enough to bring some energy to the team, so that’s what I want to see from him in his first season with the Mavericks.

Klay Thompson is also an elite perimeter defender and I guess they are fine with their current roster and currently they became more better since aside with defense we also know that Klay is also well known for his shooting. Provably that his morale is so high since he need to prove something and Dallas is lucky to get him this season. Although many say that his performance decline last season but provably he can cope up with that and maybe he's just unmotivated to continue since he don't like to stay on GSW anymore.

Dallas is became interesting team next season and for sure lots of people will provably follow on how the new Dallas big three will perform good and if they would click together.

NBA Basketball super agent and best friend to LeBron James, Rich Paul has announced he is now officially engaged to famous singer Adele. Another win for LeBron’s camp. I’m not taking anything away from Rich Paul as a competent agent, but befriending LeBron James in high school was the best decision of his life.
Lol, while that "may" look like not really related to NBA a bit, it's still quite good because you need to remember that "fame" is the thing that makes money. Meaning that, if you look at NFL right now, after that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift situation, NFL viewership increased.

The help of Taylor Swift showed NFL a whole new level of support towards football and that helped income for a while too, not directly to players because salaries are obviously set but the income for teams increasing mean that it will eventually help, of course that depends on how long the relationship will go on. Whereas, if any player would prefer to pick Rich Paul, and then show up to anything with Rich Paul and Adele, then they will get an increasing number of new fans, so picking that agent mean that it would be good business for them.

Nah, Twolves versus Mavs is the best in the West Christmas special. Cheesy That rivalry of them is so good to watch and I like how competitive both teams are.

I’d love to see that matchup again. The Timberwolves will likely try to avenge their playoff loss, but Dallas will be a different team now with Klay Thompson being part of the roster, though it's unclear if Irving will be back since he was reportedly injured months ago. Still, it’s sure to be an exciting game and a great Christmas gift for NBA fans. Hopefully no more injury to happen with Dallas.

Every player is an offensive threat who can shoot threes or attack the paint, the floor will be spacious and Luka Doncic can do his magic either in assists or score in the painted area.
Last year Coach Kidd already benched Tim Hardaway Jr. who was traded for Quentin Grimes, but the point is he won't think twice about benching players who would not play well.
Yes, hopefully no more injuries but the good part is, their bench got deeper with Dinwiddie, Grimes, Kessler Edwards, and Naji Marshall. They actually have a good defensive bench and that's to cover the weakness of their offensive teammates. Coach Kidd will have a lot of homework to do on how he will rotate them.

2024-25 NBA Christmas Day schedule has dropped. Which game are you most excited for? You’ve got some decent matchups on there. LeBron vs Warriors. Rematch of the Western Conference Finals. Sixers and Celtics (best of the East). Nuggets vs Suns (best in the West?).

Spurs at Knicks
T-Wolves at Mavs
Sixers at Celtics
Lakers at Warriors
Nuggets at Suns

Of all the Christmas games on this list, I would personally be interested in watching the 76ers versus the Celtics. At least this game should be interesting because of the new duo in the 76ers. Whether George and Embiid can do anything against the reigning champions or not.
Haven't check the other schedules at the start in October, but they might have faced each other already before Christmas? So we really don't have to wait to see Joel Embiid and Paul George at Christmas schedule. But if this is the first time that they are going to face, then good. But I guess the duo of Tatum and Brown is still the best in the NBA this season. I thought that Lavine and DeRozan could come close, or Murray and Jokic.

Probably fans might want to see a game between Steph and Lebron Christmas day. I mean they really look very close in this year's Olympics and so they are on the opposite side and we will see how competitive this guys are.

For me it's gonna be wolves and mavs.  I think this year those 2 teams will be in the mix for the chip amd they are young amd exciting.  The kmicks and Spurs was an odd choice.  East vs west, not really a rivalry seems like it will be a little flat.  I would have like to have seen houston vs Spurs.  In state rivals of two young and upcoming teams.  Seems more a fit.

They are still in rebuilding mode and they provably see that their team would became more better if they decide to make Markannen stay in their team. Know what needed to do is to find those  quality players that can able to help their team to became a contender again. They plan to trade Clarkson but it seems that he didn't have a good trading value in the market that's why they struggle to get a good offers in exchange with him.

But let see if there's good improvements will happen since the current line up of Jazz is I think not enough yet to compete on finals since its like the other team on West still more stronger than them so I guess they need more good reinforcement.

Yeah this upcoming season will be another test for their team, I think  they still have time till the trade deadling if things won't work for them, might need to have better reinforcement to back them up, not sure if trading Clarkson is a good idea but if that's what it needed to do then finding good valuable player will bring that kind of help.

Let see if how Jazz management will find those pieces to be more competitive this upcoming season.

Lauri definitely deserves a good contract because he showed the world what he is capable of doing, that's the most important part, I believe that he has done something that deserves that contract last season.

I believe that these days the numbers look too high to us because we are so used to lower numbers, like I remember very vividly when Mozgov got a 71 million 5 year contract that was deemed the worst contract ever, and that was 71 millions in 5 years, wasn't even like 20 million a year, and it was by far the worst, and one of the highest at the time as well, Lauri will be making 50 a year, that much is not something we are used to yet but the reality is that due to high income the teams have now, CBA made sure that players get their fair share, that was the last lockout was about and this is why players are getting a good share of the teams incomes now, a good salary range. I believe that Lauri is getting what he deserves, he isn't one of the highest paid ones neither.

Fair enough from what he's bringing to his team, with that kind of improvement helping the team winning games, it's now time for Jazz managements to bring someone who can help him if they wanted to be more competitive this season, with so many super teams from West division, they need to bring help for Lauri, not just the money but also to earn back those investment, they need to have that kind of caliber players who can surround him and make the team be more competitive and might bring them up and be back in the next round.

Nuggets versus Suns is just Jokic versus KD and Booker versus Murray.

When it comes to East, the Knicks are preparing well, and I wish it was the Knicks versus the Celtics at Madison Square Garden. It will probably get a full-packed arena sold-out ticket.
Of all the schedules I am intrigued more by how Klay Thompson will face his former teammates and vice versa, that's why I will never miss that game of the Mavs versus Warriors' first game in the regular season.

Lonzo Ball is being reported as playing in full five on five scrimmages with no setbacks. I think he’s had a rough career so far due to his injuries. Him and LeBron I thought played well together when they had a chance. Hopefully he can get it all together this season and get back to doing what he does best.

On the one hand, Lonzo Ball is still young and has plenty of time to at least return to his former playing shape after injury. On the other hand, he is too injury-prone, and he has not been able to reach his full potential in the five seasons he has played. Moreover, next season will be the last season of his contract, and it seems there will be little demand for him next offseason because of his injury-prone nature.

Yeah, that's one advantage of Lonzo is that he is still very young to plenty of time for him to recover. But the problem with him is that is is a recurring injury and we I'm thinking that for his injuries, it might have been piling up and so it will be early for his body to feel that wear and tear.

2 seasons out already, and this is going to be his final and if it didn't goes well for him, he might be drop by the Chicago Bulls as their investments on him is not returning any. And if ever he will comeback, I don't know but he could be just a shadow of himself.

In today's game if you want keep these players you have to pay up.  I don't know if I'd go all in with Lauri but I think he is still on the up and up so it will probably end up as good value.  By the time these guys end their contracts people will be getting 500mil contracts and will look like a steal so long as they are still.performing at a high pace.  People pay attention too much with how much these guys make.

Lauri Markkanen signed a 5-year contract extension with Utah Jazz for 238 million dollars.
I think him and his agent did well in getting this deal extension with Utah Jazz. With all of the rumors that Warriors and other teams wanting to take him, they'd probably increased his value or at least got what they want. I don't have an idea how much his past contract with Utah Jazz but that seems to be the deal here.

Its like giving pressure to the side of Jazz and they are successful for making them decide to increase his salary so that they can retain him. But also lets give credits to Warriors for keeping their existing offer since the trade between them with Jazz didn't happened and Markkanen get the benefits for that deal which didn't go through.

He's still a high caliber player and for sure he would be useful for Jazz since Markkanen can contribute on both ends. So I guess this already end up the rumor and for sure Warriors fans is now waiting for next update on who are their target players possibly to be added in their roster.
The Utah Jazz's roster don't have that superstar caliber compared to Lauri Markkanen and I guess that they've been pressured to do that and if they have been, credits really to him and his agent. The Warriors also bumped his contract with this and others that are currently on peak of their careers should manage to do the same.

I've also heard about Jordan Clarkson's trying to negotiate and still got that contract from the Utah Jazz. They're doing well as usual during the typical season of the league but they're falling shortly everytime they go to the playoffs and other important parts of the tournament.
