Wow Boston just landed jrue holiday for a couple picks and so.e bench pieces (I like Robert Williams a lot though). That's a great pick up from Boston. Now I need to see the Bucks and Boston play, those games will be fun to watch.
Low key Portland is stacking 2028-20230 first round picks. If these kids end up good and Blazers are a top team in the west by the end of the decade they are gonna have some serious draft capital to play with. Great move all around.
I was shocked. I thought they had enough after the Marcus Smart trade for Kristaps Porzingis.
And Woj already had an article about it. That was fast.
https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/38538353/sources-celtics-add-jrue-holiday-trade-blazersThe Blazers are expected to want to keep Williams to pair with new center Deandre Ayton, but Brogdon will likely be part of additional trade talks upon his arrival in Portland, sources said. Absent another trade, Brogdon will start the season with Portland. The Blazers are committed to a young group of guards including No. 3 draft pick Scoot Henderson, 2022 first-round pick Shaedon Sharpe and Anfernee Simons, who signed a $100 million extension last summer.
Like I said in my previous post Trail Blazers is filled with guards so their real plan is to press the reset button and focus on Scoot Henderson and surround him with upcoming stars. I hope they will not be cheap this time. I think this is a good trade for both sides.
Now Boston Celtics are both strong on the offensive and defensive end, especially in their backcourt roster. This is getting scary, and I bet the odds will change again in the East and the Celtics will now be the favorite to win the Eastern Conference.
Two big men who are good at the frontcourt for the Trail Blazers. If they can work out a good chemistry with those guys and Scoot then I bet they can even try a playoff chance this season. Let's just wish Scoot would not be another Damian Lillard who was ignored after asking to add more good roleplayers but I do believe they have a good roster now.
Scoot and Simons for their guards. Shaedon Sharpe and Jerami Grant for their forwards. Ayton or Williams III for the center. I think that's decent or better.
