The Athletic is reporting that the Philadelphia 76ers are refusing to trade James Harden and requesting him to appear in training camp. However, James Harden has said he has no plans to play for the 76ers this year and won’t be attending training camp. We’ve got ourselves a bit of a stand-off situation to start the 2024 season.

Here we go again with this guy and not so long ago we saw him when he wanted to leave the team he would do some funny thing for them to finally consider how to trade him as quickly as possible. remember when leaves his body to consume more than he needs and gains a huge amount of weight which makes him fat. The Houston Rockets became so frustrated and quickly released him because they thought there would be no chance for him to contribute good things to the team and suddenly after that, he retained his old self again. Now that he's doing his same old trick again the 76ers don't care about it anymore.
I think Rockets just did the smart thing, instead of being tortured by this guy I would also just rather do a rebuilding and not being subjected to Harden's drama. I have had it with this guy as a simple NBA fan. What are these players thinking? It is not good for anyone, themselves, the teams, the fans, the league. Nba is giving too much power to these players. That being said, I think 76ers will just give up and trade him. Because they are helpless and it is inevitable that these players get what they want. I used to like players being traded, that is some exciting part of the nba. But Harden, Kyrie, Durant and Westbrook just killed it for me. I think we can already say that this is yet another year we can't expect anything proper from 76ers. That is such a shame.

Is there going to be another drama? Honestly, I get the impression that there is something wrong with the 76ers, as this is the second time in a few seasons that some players literally want to run away from this club. First, Simmons didn't want to play for them, and now Harden. I wonder if it's a coincidence and both players are just too finicky or if this club really has a terrible atmosphere for players.

Can't blame the man if he will spend the rest of his time in the NBA chasing for the championship ring even if it means forcing the Sixers to trade him just like what he did during his days in the Brooklyn Nets because in his state now, money is not a priority anymore. But he should reconsider this move though because it will cost him a lot more compared to what he thought as there will be some repercussions like penalties for him from the league and the franchise if he will choose not to play for the coming season.

But we thought that the Sixers are fine with Harden being traded and so there are news that he is going up and shopping for a team. It even mention his old team of Houston Rockets if I'm not mistaken.

And it was thought that the negotiations between the Clippers, Harden's destination team and Sixers are undergoing.

Not sure why Harden wanted to have a trade though, they have the reigning MVP and he seems to be healthy already and so they can make a run for the title with Joel and Harden.

Not sure what is happening to the 76ers right now, but they have been in this kind of situation before. We all know it started with the Ben Simmons drama and it dragged them out for months. And so it seems the curse is not yet over as in less than two years they have this situation again.

I guess if they have given so much power to NBA players, we will see this kind of stand off. Not the first time though, and if I'm not mistaken, Kyrie has this kind of situation as well and Kawhi Leonard, when he was with the Spurs and doesn't want to play unless he gets traded and he got his wish back then after a year and traded to Toronto and win their first championship ring.

This seems like a flashback to Ben Simmons' history, LOL. If we end up witnessing a similar situation, we might not see James Harden next season either. The team seems to have no plans of trading, so Harden will have to remain on vacation, waiting for the right time to be traded. There appears to be a problem with the 76ers' management; the team's cohesion with players isn't great, with stars leaving. Except for Embiid, who stands out, or could it be that Embiid is part of the problem?

Embid already said that he just wants to play for a championship, no matter where that is.  With Philly up in flames right now I can see embid getting traded at the deadline if they really aren't competing.  Embid would get a nice haul, dump Harden to a contender and build off Maxey with a bunch of picks.  Doesn't seem like Phillys direction is on the right path better to get assets for their stars now.

I cannot deny that I'm also thinking that what if Embiid is part of the problem? We may not see or hear it but I know there is something going on behind closed doors that is why Philly is getting the same problems again and again. If that will be the case, I think it will be much comfortable for them if Embiid will start to ask for a trade because I know that they don't have the guts to trade Embiid without having any requests from him. Sooner or later, their problems will be announced publicly.

He wanted to complete his NBA career with a ring. I think sooner or later he will ask for that trade if Philly failed to give him the kind
of squad that will help him and the team to achieve that goal.

It might be a deeper problem that surrounds not just the management but the players as well, but looking on
the situation, it's just the same thing with Simmon, now it's Harden who doesn't want to go to the practice
and play with the team.

If there's anything that's problematic with the management then that's not cutting of the problem early. NBA is now at a stage where teams cannot really do anything much to players they signed so it's pointless to drag it or keep holding on to divas.

How so? Was there a time when he forces the team to pick players of his choice?

If Embiid aspires to become a champion, he might need to consider a trade. In my opinion, the best team that could ensure a championship for him is the Golden State Warriors. While I'm uncertain about the details of what the Warriors might offer to make this deal happen, it's my current perspective. The Warriors are known to face challenges with height or production in the paint. If they were to acquire Embiid, and with Curry and Thompson still playing, I believe it would almost guarantee a championship.

Of course, for this scenario to unfold, other moves might need to be made, including the possible trading of CP3 and potentially involving more players to sweeten the deal for Philadelphia. Do you think it's realistic?

Pop has been a very big cornerstone of NBA for the past 2.5 decades, that dude started winning titles in the 90's, and still got one at 10's as well, I really hope that he gets at least 1 ring during 20's as well, that would make him have a ring at 4 different decades as well. Wemby is great and all and I am sure that he is going to be a great player but just him alone can't get them a title, better players tried alone and failed. I do hope that they can build a team that can win, they kept on getting guards from drafts and then got rid of them via trade or just not resigning them, I thought they would definitely keep on being great, didn2t expected to see Spurs a tanking team. I really do hope they can get some good players and get one more ring before he retires.

Trust the process part 2, hahaha. Well if they really put Embiid out there the whole league would go crazy again.
Every team has their team pretty much set up and for an MVP you would have to trade like 2-3 good players + picks, 2 months before the start of the season I think that's a risky move.

Never been a fan of JB, I also understand that people want to win, but blaming others to not being able to win is kind of ridiculous. I remember the press conference where he said something like "how can we win when it's just me and Harden", come on man. Words like this cause locker room cancer, nobody needs that. Also I think he didn't perform to what he could have in the playoff. Also, his MVP is a joke anyway, just got it because of the race controversy tht came up thanks to some clown like Kendrick Perkins.  Roll Eyes

Yes, I agree. It is still premature to say that coach Pops will just be with the San Antonio Spurs for just a year specially when Wemby is still approaching his first season and rookie year in the NBA, and it was one of the reasons why the Spurs have convinced coach Pop to extend his contract. Needless to say, this will be not the end of it and coach Pop will soon find his answer again why should he stay for another season.
Wembenyama could end up getting injured or being a bust, cannot control if those things happen. If they did though, Pop might decide it's time to walk away. Spurs really need Wemby to have a monster season. If for nothing else than to keep their best coach ever interested in staying in coaching.

I get what you are saying but I don't think Pop is only gonna stay if wemby pans out.  He has won enough championships to cement his name in with the greatest coaches ever.  Unsure what his motivation is honestly.  They are a young team amd years away from competing for the chip.  Maybe this time around his motivation is to bring up these young kids.  Either way dude is a legend.

Motivation isn't something why coach Pop is staying with the Spurs because he was already approaching his retirement phase but the franchise insisted that he should extend his contract with them because they need his expertise to teach these young ones so that they will be an image of the team for the next couple seasons. Winning a championship wasn't the goal really because they already know that it will be too much to ask as Wemby is still approaching his rookie year, coach Pop will just be a lighthouse to the team to guide them.

We didn’t get to see LeBron and Durant matchup in the playoffs last year unfortunately but the future looks good. For the first time in 5 years we get to see Kevin Durant and LeBron James face off as the Phoenix home opener is scheduled to be against the Lakers. I wonder how much tickets for that game are going to be…

If we take into account the number of all-star players that will be in this match, ticket prices will definitely be overpriced, especially for courtside tickets. I'm wondering how much tickets for regular NBA games usually cost. $100-$200?

p.s
By the way, I just now noticed that these legendary guys got their coveted HOF jackets today. Time flies so fast...

Yes, just saw the speech of Tony Parker and it was hilarious though, saying that Timmy (Duncan) didn't speak to him because Timmy doesn't like French people, Lol, that is funny and witty at all.

And when Tony says that they've won 4 championships together, him, Tim, Manu, who is also one of his presenter and coach Pop who is also a inductee. Suddenly a flashback to some great games with the the championship Spurs and how they dominated that era including Robinson. Them and the Lakers are the two teams that really take charge of the early 2000-2010.

Steve Kerr has good IQ on the court, with his experience on championships along with great teammates plus the advice he got from Pops I guess he got it all. Good thing USA Basketball has entrusted him that role.
True. Regarding Steve Kerr, I have a good question. Should he be a Hall of Fame Player or should he be a Hall of Fame Coach? or both?
They say he is just a roleplayer in his player career years and he never played enough to be a HOF. But despite that, he had 3 rings in Chicago Bulls and 2 in San Antonio Spurs. That should mean something. As a coach though, I have no doubts that he will sit in the immortality seat.

Well, he got Wemby to be coached even for just a year that would mean something for the kid tbh, this one is the future face of the NBA and molding him is likely the joy of Pops.
It will make Pops proud too knowing he will be part of the success of Wemby if ever he plays hard on his future games. That means he did well in this first year of his career.

There's no problem with that.

San Antonio Spurs head coach and president of basketball operations Gregg Popovich has agreed to a new five-year contract, the team announced on Saturday. Terms of the agreement, which will keep Popovich in San Antonio through the 2027-28 season were not officially released, but he will earn more than $80 million over the course of the deal, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
I think they already considered his health and he might make it until the end of the contract. He is 74 years old and yet he still looks fresh.  Wink

I do not think that this would matter like a playoff game. The opener usually doesn't matter, not only it's the first game of the season so the players will not be ready fully and they will get better overtime, but we are also talking about players not caring about regular season as much as they care about playoffs.

The most important games could be the last games where teams trying to be in the playoff spot, when there are play-in situations right now which I think was a great addition, I disliked it at first but now I like it a lot. I could say that between the playoffs, the play-ins and the last games of the season for the last spot, I think it's going to be pretty decent for teams to end up caring only about those games.
