Also, one more piece of news came out and I thought they are just discussing the matter about the roster.
Damian Lillard requests trade after 11 seasons with Blazers
Damian Lillard is calling his shot. Portland's all-time leading scorer is ready to leave the only team he's ever played for.

https://www.nba.com/news/blazers-damian-lillard-requests-trade

Honestly, I'm not that surprised about his move for requesting a trade because I already gave it a thought beforehand that sooner or later, Damian Lillard will force a trade as Portland cannot just bring some superstar by his side to provide more results for the team.

I mean, I know he could have requested a trade if he wanted to in the past few years but he chose to stay and gave the Portland some chance.

Damian Lillard trade destinations: Star wants Heat, but plenty of other teams have more to offer

Very sad to see Dame Lillard and Portland ending this way. I remember when they were  a contender, really nice team with CJ and him, but always something lack on that team, also they fight against the mighty Golde State. So no luck on the time they play, so good franchisce in the west coast at the same time.

How about Desmond Bane getting over 200 million dollars out of the Grizzlies? Gotta be the worst signing so far.
5-year max. $200m. $40M per year. That's a lot of money. I know he did carry the Grizzlies while Ja Morant was not playing because of his gun stint but this is going to tighten up their salary cap. They will have players that will look for a better salary and they cannot even offer a good one anymore.

Their ex-teammate Dillon Brooks is getting a 4-year contract for $80m only at Houston Rockets. I bet that hurt his feelings when he heard how much they gave Desmond Bane after not resigning him.  Cheesy The Rockets also signed 2023 NBA champion veteran Jeff Green for a 1-year $6m contract.
It seems like the Rockets are trying to combine young players and veterans which I think is a good thing. Will keep my eyes on this team as I think they are piling up players who will focus defensively as their offense is already better. They are becoming a playoff caliber right now by surrounding Jabari Smith with different types of good roleplayers.

Brooks is probably salty that Desmond Bane is getting a lot more compared to him which has not been resigned. Dude's also working in Grizzlies but Bane really stepped up when the team needed him thanks to Ja Morant's antics.

Maybe he was salty, but prior to Bane's contract being released to the public, Grizzlies already says that they are not going to re-sign Brooks already. Although I wouldn't have to agree that if Brooks didn't have the antics to be a bad guy in the NBA, he could have been res-sign by the team and perhaps offer him a huge contract.

2019-2021 version of Brooks is very different, not sure why he wanted to be the enforcer of the team though. Technical fouls, suspensions, "poking the bear" statement. He just waste it everything when they could probably have another run with a fully healthy Ja physically and mentally.

As for the Rockets' picking up some value picks for cheap, it's good for them on the defense side though hopefully they don't lack the firepower necessary to make the game favor their odds. The Rockets are still a relatively weak team compared to the whole of NBA but hopefully their picks make them become a contender on the Western conference.

The Chicago Bulls applied to the NBA management for a $10.2 million 'unusable player exemption' due to Lonzo Ball's injury!

I think Lonzo Ball's career is over. Lonzo Ball will most likely never play in the NBA again.

Dame’s path to Miami is starting to look a little cloudy. The Portland Trailblazers have come out now and said that they’re open to hearing from any team in the league about trading Damian Lillard. They initially seemed to be willing to do whatever it took to get Dame where he wanted to go, but when it came time to sign the dotted line their tune started to change.

It's all a pony show.  They need to say that so that if Miami really wants Dame they want to ring up the price for him.  If they just come out and say we are dealing him to Miami they lose any leverage.  Whether or not he lands there is still up for debate based on the package they get back.  Portland isn't just gonna give him away for anything.

Ya, but there’s also perception around the league. They aren’t going to get fair value back no matter what, but it is a chance to show their loyalty to a longtime player who is viewed as the most loyal in the league. That could be good for free agent signings.

How about Desmond Bane getting over 200 million dollars out of the Grizzlies? Gotta be the worst signing so far.

In the end Miami doesn't have a lot of pieces I'd be super excited about.  I know they are a finals team but it's more about the team being worth more than the individual pieces.  I'd do the same thing if I was Portland.

And yeah $200 mil for bane might bury them with not being able to move much more around.  Chips in the center I guess.  He isn't a bad player but I get your point I can't see how some of these guys only getting 70-80 million and bane gets 200.  Guess that's home town going all in and hope he gets even better.

LaMelo Ball and Tyrese Haliburton both getting five-year max contracts sounds crazy. I think it's a huge gamble for their teams but I hope it pays off for the Hornets and the Pacers hehe. The team's respective head coaches have a big task of keeping these players motivated and disciplined.

Haliburton is going to be one of the best ploint guards in the league over the course of this contract most likely the way things are looking.  No way a different team doesn't offer them the max.  To keep good young talent you have to pony up.  And of course it's a gamble, all of these contracts are.

It's a now or never type of thing for the Indiana Pacers because they don't want to risk losing Tyrese Haliburton on their line-up as the player could make a request someday if he feels that he is valued more and that he can always get a much bigger contract in other teams in the league as he is really a skill one. Good thing that the Pacers made that move but of course, it's not guaranteed that things will on their favor just because of that contract. The same with the Charlotte Hornets for giving LaMelo Ball that max contract.

It's time to chase for a ring before it's too late for him, like you, many of us believe he already gave enough time for the Blazers
to bring him a squad that can help him to win a title, but nothing happens.

I remember way back when they face the Warriors in west finals though it's a swept series, but those are the time where they, really
manage to go that far, just some missing piece to add, but it didn't happen, and they are now ended up in this low-performing squad.

Waiting for the trade destination of Dame, hope to see him sign to a competitive team either East or West.

His is only chance to chase for the ring is to join a super team because that’s the norm of NBA nowadays to become a champion. I thougt Miami can dispproved this but they are beaten badly by Nuggets that is a natural super team that built by Nuggets itself and not by acquiring other star players from othe team.

It’s not bad to chase for a championship ring but he is risking his career a lot by changing teams that valued him for a long time. He can be a worthless to other team with their own star if he can’t perform what is expected from him. We witness a lot of super star that is now being valued low because they request to leave the team to chase for championship that didn’t result well. His best chance to get a ring is with Warriors that is now rebuilding but I doubt they have a budget for Dame without sacrificing some of there main players.

Right now, there are lot of teams in the league who can give a good package in-exchange for Damian Lillard like the Brooklyn Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, and the San Antonio Spurs. Among all the teams I've mentioned, it seems to me that Brooklyn Nets are the ones who can afford to make a good offer for Dame that will get the Blazer's interest and that Miami Heat version was just too vague as they don't have that much leverage and luxury to make a good offer.

There's also a rumor about a potential three-team blockbuster trade, and the Heat are reportedly willing to give up Herro and possibly some other players as well.
It's just a rumor that is circulating and it's not certain that the truth will be real, after all, there hasn't been a statement that has been issued directly regarding this trade, so we can't race to believe the rumors that are circulating.
Herro is such an asset to the Heat that it's very unlikely the Heat will give him up in the trade this season.
This will make it difficult for the Heat if they actually hand over some of the players they actually need to prepare for next season.

Miami would be a great place for Dame, they already have Butler and Adebayo, and a lot of shooters with duncan and herro as well. That means we are going to end up with a squad that will be very good for the current era of basketball. They have one big that is very talented both on defense and on rebounding and could scoop up points inside when needed, that is very good, not star on offense and scoring for sure but at least like get the offensive rebound or something or do pick and roll decently and also most importantly lock inside down on defense.

Dame and Butler could take over depending on which one is hot, and they could always pass it outside to some of the three pointers which would help them on the long run without a doubt, like when defense collapses on the same person all the time, they can pass it out.

Looks like the Lakers are on a resigning spree as they have just announced that Austin Reeves has been signed to a 4-year deal for over 50 million dollars. If that’s correct, then I think the Lakers did a pretty good job of keeping the guys they should keep and at low enough contract rates for them to possibly be able to make some moves next year.
Happy for Reaves. It looks like this is the first big contract of his career, and I think he will be able to get a bigger contract in the future because he obviously has great potential.
Overall it's good that the Lakers' management has decided to re-sign some guys as well as sign some new guys. Although I think the Lakers need to find a couple more big guys who can at least partially replace Davis if he gets injured again.
That's good for him tbh and he earned it for what he have done for the team in this recent season. I think re-signing Rui Hachimura was a huge step for the Los Angeles Lakers too considering he can have big shots at biggest moments and he can be used to defend as well, though I think he got a hard time doing that to Jokic. Among the unrestricted free agent centers right now, I think Mason Plumlee is the best for them to have if they want huge guys.

Huge guy is not their problem because they already have AD that can literally play on most of the quarter. I think they only need a much better starter and some bench players which probably the target of their shuffle. Honestly, Lakers failed to capitalized AD when he needed to be performing more on a battle of strong center.

Also they should start less relying on their stars that can't perform and give more play time on players that can contribute like Vanderbilt and Walker instead of making DLo play more. I think Lakers is very solid team and in fact can win finalize without Nuggets as enemy. Lakers is just hard counter by Nuggets that is full of huge players that can shoot consistent 3 that time and at the same time can provide good defense against them.

Dame leaving Portland will be a sad thing to see, an era ending basically, he did his best there but the team never really put any decent pieces together for him to be successful, they never had even another superstar level player which is usually needed to win a title since most teams that won in the last 10 years or so have been teams with at least 2 great players, maybe more.

In the end, we are going to definitely see him leave to a team that will be fighting for a title chance, I am not saying he will leave to a team that will win the ring, but we are not going to see him go to a tanking team anymore, he is already old and if he wanted a bad team then he could have stayed with Portland. I still 100% suggest Celtics, that's an amazing fit without a doubt.

When you have already made a name in the league, it's really better for you to have a championship just once to become a legend in the future because there are already lots of players that have had this privilege in the past and to overtake their record seems hard for this new era since there are lots of new rules added to the game. the only thing to get to the top is to have your own ring, which he really wants right now because we all know that he is also getting older, and that's not looking good, he needs to go to the right team in order to get a higher chance to compete in the NBA championship this next season.

I am also happy for him. The boy deserves that contract and he did really step up being with Lebron and had all eyes on him. Good thing that the Lakers had a lot of plans for him per se.

I agree, they need a sub and a big man that will be there and his primary purpose is to be a sub for Davis. Who could be that possible guy? I am thinking about Brook Lopez but then I just saw the news that he signed with Bucks.

Westbrook signing with the Clippers for 2 years and 8 million is nuts. He surely could’ve gotten double that and maybe triple somewhere else. I think he took his stint with the Lakers personally and now he just wants to help the Clippers be the top dog in Los Angeles. With this deal the Clippers should be able to go after another big free agent.
This is a huge decrease in his value. But I think he's living in LA so this is still a comfortable choice for him despite the decrease in potential contracts that he may get. But that's his decision and there could be something else within the clause of his contract aside from the monetary value.

Lillard said in a recent interview that he didn't want to leave Portland, but if he did Miami is where he would want to go.
I'm not sure if the potential trade that I've seen for him by Miami is for real. A lot of players including Robinson, Herro, and some other plays plus 2 first-pick rounds and a 2nd pick round just for him. Portland is on a win if that's for real.
