I am a Mavericks fan and a Doncic fan so I just don't want his years to be wasted. Everything Kyrie Irving touches is cursed. I wish it will not be the same this time.
It's not a curse, the talent is there,  it's the chemistry that he is lacking and chemistry takes time to build up depending on someone's attitude plus he got a ring already. I think, what he lacks is the thirst to win a championship and I don't feel it from Irving. The intensity and eagerness to win aren't the same as when he was in Cavs back then. The Mavs would have a better chance in playoffs if he can play like that before. Just look at Curry, the eagerness is still there. That is greatness.

I don't believe in curse either since there's nothing like that exist on a team game play. Its just the team where he goes lost a lot of role player or important rooster that's why they end up became miserable since they can't fill the gap what those guys get traded on.

We should remember that Kyrie is already a champion so there's no point believing on wrong belief like that. If Dallas management could get good role players on this free agency Dallas will be a hard to bet team.

I was glad to see Kuzma get paid finally with a big contract and Rui resigning with the Lakers on a team friendly deal. Some of these other contracts I’m seeing get handed out are a little wild though.
I was happy when I've seen the deal sealed by Rui. He deserve that and likely to increase if he'll just be stable with his plays just as how he played during the playoffs. There's more to this guy and he's starting to be likened by many Lakers fans although it should be Schroder but he's gone to Toronto and signed a deal there but that's how it goes. I'm just waiting for one more player to see that news of his signing with the Lakers and that's Reaves: The Lakers have officially offered Austin Reaves a max contract

It seems like you only have to be a decent player nowadays to get 30 million dollars per year and if you’re close to an all star you’ll get 40 million a year. I guess it won’t be long before players are making 100 million per year…
We'll get to see that and it's only going there with inflation and all of those economic factors, it's very likely that we'll get to see superstars get $100M and even more.

  • Draymond Green is also staying with the Golden State Warriors on a four-year, $100 million deal.
  • Dallas Mavericks have re-signed Kyrie Irving on a 3-year, $126 Million deal.

These 2 are the ones IMO worth talking about. Draymond Green was never going to be traded. So many suitors showed interest, but the Warriors never had any intention of letting him go. He is way to important to the team.

Dallas WTF are you doing?Huh Kyrie is 1of the most selfish players in the game. He has some skill, but Luca is going to say trade me before it's over. Bad move on your part.

Yeah, at the back of our minds, we all know that Green is going to stay with the Warriors specially when the news that Jordan Poole is going to Washington and CP3 joining them. It's just we have to wait for the official announcement coming from the Warriors. So they are now intact, but probably needs to shuffle or get role players right now to complete the team.

As for Dallas, it's going to be a failed experience for Mark Cuban.

I don't know about the curse but I think they have to kill the witch then that cursed him so it would die along with her. I think the management shows potential on the duo and they can still work it out, a single year shouldn't be treated as it will continue over and over, it can be worked out, it should be.
That's just a fan sentiment and we do get that a lot even in other sports. But the management has already decided that they'll be taking Kyrie for 3 years and could even be extended if the Mavs will have a good ending for that long. If the management has already cast that contract and believes on Kyrie, fans can't do anything about them. We like our boy Luka and we have to like Kyrie soon, we just have to give it some time and let's see if they'll be another favorite team having a good run for this season.

I understand the sentiment, but you also have to understand that the Mavericks are currently conducting an experiment. They know that if Luka alone continues to lead the team, they will not reach their goal. Therefore, signing Irving is really a big risk, but the guy has the talent and has won a championship. So maybe this time, with his new team, it will work. Many fans have been disappointed with Irving, but the Mavericks are in the business for so long, so I believe they know more about what Irving could bring to the team.
If Luka can get them another ring then he should have done it before when they defeated that Phoenix team having him smiling at every shot but Warriors got them. I think that was the time he has a shot for a ring, I don't know about the curse but I think they have to kill the witch then that cursed him so it would die along with her. Honestly, I'm surprised that Green was able to re-sign with the Warriors so quickly, as I previously expected the Warriors' management wouldn't want to spend that much money on him. Anyway, it's worth noting that the current Warriors roster looks good on paper,

Don't be surprised, my friend. The Warriors mean business. While they may have initially stated that they couldn't offer Green a larger amount, it was likely a strategic move to prevent him from demanding even more. However, Green knows how to play the mind games, and he pushed for what he believed he deserved. In the end, the Warriors were able to meet his demands, and now he is thoroughly content playing for the team he contributed to winning championships.

but they clearly need another player who can dominate the paint at the center position.
Draymond is not actually in the Center position but he could play with small ball, however, if we are talking about real centers, I think they can find one, just for the purpose of defending as the Warriors already have firepower in offense.

Kyrie Irving stays with the Dallas Mavericks with a whopping contract of $126M - 3 years or so.

Report: Kyrie Irving staying with Mavericks for $126 million over 3 years

Okay then, that settles for any rumor that has been out for Irving. He'll stay where he are right now and that's a good amount for him to stay. I just wish that he'll get to play with a good chemistry this time around with Luka since last season didn't really look impressive at all.
Good for me, the Dallas Mavericks has taken a big risk to give him that kind of money and in 3 years?

We've seen it already that I must say that Luka and Kyrie doesn't have the chemistry like a Lebron and Kyrie back in their Cleveland days (even that time there are rurmors about their relationship).

So for sure NBA pundits are going to monitor this situation, yes Luka needed another player, but not as ball hog as Kyrie.
That's my impression as well when it was all of a sudden that Kyrie transferred to Mavs and it was a short notice. I think that I'll still hope for the best if this two builds their tandem. It's gonna be a long haul for them but when they click to each other, we'd see a powerhouse within these two.

Oh crap! I don't know what to say but I don't really like this deal. That duo is not working, maybe just for me.
We will see but I am not getting my hopes up just yet. IMO, Doncic was not happy with how it ended last year but it seems like he is just keeping it to himself. 3 years and that's a lot of money. Will they even get more good players to surround Doncic or this is it? The duo.
I am a Mavericks fan and a Doncic fan so I just don't want his years to be wasted. Everything Kyrie Irving touches is cursed. I wish it will not be the same this time.
We all knew that they didn't worked well for the last season but this is going to be a long season again, and this could probably what Cuban and his management can see.

There can be other moves for these trades going to Mavs but we shall see since we're already on the series of trades.

  • Draymond Green is also staying with the Golden State Warriors on a four-year, $100 million deal.
I knew it, Draymond's going to stay with a fair contract, so I would say that the Warriors are now ready for the next season as the core is still intact. Plus, Chris Paul has been added to the lineup now. I'm sure Paul is happy, and maybe this time his chance to win a championship will come true.

  • Memphis Grizzlies have signed Desmond Bane to a 5-year, $207 Million MAX contract extension - First $200M Deal in Grizzlies History
  • Indiana Pacers have signed Tyrese Haliburton to a 5-year max extension worth UP TO $260 Million!

These contracts are insane, personally, I believe it's overvalued.

There's been a lot of trades, signings that happened in the first day of the free agency. I've listed all of them, and there might be some contract signing that might happen after, and I just compiled all of it from a Facebook Page (NBA Buzz), so there might be some who saw all of it already, but anyway it's good to share it here as well.
  • Draymond Green is also staying with the Golden State Warriors on a four-year, $100 million deal.
  • Fred VanVleet has agreed on a three-year, $130 million contract with the Houston Rockets.
  • Dennis Schroder has agreed to a two-year, $26 Million deal with the Toronto Raptors.
  • Gabe Vincent has agreed on a three-year, $33 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
  • Dallas Mavericks have re-signed Kyrie Irving on a 3-year, $126 Million deal.
  • Khris Middleton has signed a 3-year, $102 Million deal to stay with the Milwaukee Bucks.
  • Kyle Kuzma has agreed on a four-year, $102M deal to return to the Washington Wizards.
  • NBA champion Bruce Brown has agreed on a two-year, $45M deal with the Indiana Pacers.
  • Jerami Grant has agreed on a five-year, $160 million deal to return to the Portland Trail Blazers.
  • Taurean Prince has agreed to a 1-year, $4.5 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
  • Max Strus will sign a 4-year, $64 Million deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
  • Keita Bates-Diop has agreed to a two-year, $5 Million deal with the Phoenix Suns.
  • Brooklyn Nets have re-signed Cameron Johnson on a 4-year, $108 Million deal.
  • Phoenix Suns have signed sharpshooter Yuta Watanabe.
  • Shake Milton has signed with Minnesota on a 2-year, $10 Million deal.
  • New Orleans Pelicans have re-signed Herb Jones on a 4-year, $54 Million deal.
  • Josh Richardson has agreed on a two-year deal with the Miami Heat. Richardson returns to the franchise that drafted him in 2015.
  • Cam Reddish is signing with the Los Angeles Lakers on a 2-year deal.
  • Oshae Brissett has agreed to a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics.
  • Dallas Mavericks have signed Seth Curry to a two year deal.
  • Derrick Rose will sign a multi-year deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.
  • Washington Wizards have traded Monte Morris to the Detroit Pistons for a future 2nd round pick
I've bolded the trades and signed contracts that I think worth sharing my opinion with.

- The Warriors trading Poole opened up cap space for Green, and obviously it's a better decision for them. I mean in terms of what they did in the franchise, no doubt Green has more than Poole.
- Desmond Bane is the first Grizzlies player in franchise history to get a contract of over $200M, and I guess he deserves it knowing how he played last season, and his impact on the team.
- Haliburton, after playing probably one of the best 2 seasons of his career, he already got a huge contract for the Pacers already. Good choice by the management to lock him up.
- VanVleet signing with the Rockets means that he will leading those young talented players alongside Coach Ime Udoka. I just hope that he will play well on his new team.
- After that $80M contract rejection a few years ago, Schroeder is starting to increase his worth again, and now he has a better contract with the Raptors. I will miss the time where him and Lebron did their signature trademark against the Timberwolves during the play-in tournament. Cheesy
- Gabe Vincent, and Max Strus (I just included him) after being undrafted to become a good role player in the Heat, to now having a long term contract already. Good to see them coming to the league as undrafted players.
- I thought that Irving will have a supermax deal since he's eligible to it, but it seems like the Mavericks gave him only ~$40M per year. I guess it's still a good thing, but I hope they'll improve their defense for the next season.
- Middleton re-signing with the Bucks is kind of expected IMO already because he loves playing with the team, and Giannis wants him to be back as well. Good choice for the management.

Obviously, more of these contract signings, and trades will happen in the upcoming weeks, and months, so stay tuned for some trades. We might see some notable players that might get traded, and we might see some players who we didn't expect to be traded with another team to be traded. Cheesy This free agency is very exciting knowing we have new rules already (CBA).

Reports says Gabe Vincent joining the Lakers,

Quote
Free agent guard Gabe Vincent is expected to join the Los Angeles Lakers on a three-year, $33 million deal, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

https://www.nba.com/news/gabe-vincent-2023-free-agency

So this is a great news for the Lakers and Lebron as he will have a good wingman and a 3 point shooter. Plus Gabe has one of the best seasons so far last year with the Heat.

But as the same time, they let go of Dennis as he moves to Toronto. Because Fred VanVleet signing a three-year, $130 million max contract with the Houston Rockets.

With D'Lo and Vincent together with a healthy LeBron and Davis seems good to me.

There is news that D'Lo though might be out for the Lakers next season. So we might not see the two together in Lakers uniform. Rui has re-signed, so it's good news that they can retain the services of Rui because he was a standout during the playoffs.

Vincent, as we've seen him played last season, he can contribute a lot to the Lakers knowing how LeBron's type game now
he's more on locating the open man. With both D'Lo and Vincent, he can easily drop the ball and get a high percentage
shots outside, or he can locate Davis inside for the easy basket.

Yeah, him and Max Struss who is also reported to be going somewhere else and that's why the Heat is scrambling to find a replacement. Vincent shot almost 40% on 3's last year and for sure the Lakers are going to benefit from it if they spot him open especially how good Lebron is as far as passing to the open man.

^ That’s a big blow to the Nuggets.
Yeah, surprising news as many would have thought that this team will be stronger than before and bonds would be made. After all, this is NBA and it's all about business and taking the best offers that they can take after getting out of their primes.
It's not actually different from what the Golden State Warriors did. After their championship, they increased the salary of some of their players and then traded them. Some are let go with a better contract for other teams.
I think what happened is just normal in the NBA now. Loyalty is not a thing anymore, where there is money, go get it, get yourself a house and some savings for your retirement fund. I think Bruce Brown will be there.
The same with the Lakers and that's why I just thought that this team will remain just as is with their winning roster. But this is all about their value has gotten up just after getting the ring so it's a wise move for him when there's a bigger offer since they're not always at their height of their career so it's nice that he took advantage of it.

I was surprised to see ESPN reporting that Draymond Green signed a 4 year 100 million dollar deal to stay with the Warriors. I can’t imagine that he’ll still be starting for them in four years given his drop off over the last two seasons but I guess he’s earned that money for helping them get the rings they have. Next year with CP3 will be interesting.
I thought that he'll be choosing to get away from the team to explore further. But this is a good decision from him getting that $100M for a 4-year deal to make the current roster intact together with a new addition of CP3.

This truly is a good news for the Lakers. While Dennis Schroder is out and will be going to the Raptors, Hachimura got a decent contract with the Lakers while adding Vincent to their roster. Well, this is what we're liking with the Lakers now. A lot of support is there and this is a balance lineup that they probably want.

James Harden is the biggest name in the trading block now. The odds would favor the LA Clippers because it is the team that Harden personally wanted to play. Personally, I am losing some hope in Kawhi Leonard's condition to become healthy for a full season or the playoffs.

But I will not count out the other teams, even those teams that are not on the favorable list. Many teams are willing to make adjustments for Harden. I am also hoping Harden will consider playing with Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat.
Let's momentarily shine the spotlight on Miami Heat. With Harden's chameleon-like game, syncing with Butler and Bam is feasible. He's choreographed this with KD and Kyrie at the Nets, why not a sequel? Lillard's Miami shift is another chapter. But the prospect of Harden and Lillard joining forces in Miami – remote yet spine-tingling
