This Lakers vs Grizzlies game was over by halftime. The Grizzlies have given up and I don’t think any of the Lakers stars will even play in the fourth quarter. A dominant showing for the Lakers as they prove they underperformed in the regular season and are going to be a problem in the playoffs. Now we wait to see if they’re going to be playing the Warriors or the Kings next.
Early garbage time. I didn't hit the over 218, thanks to that.  Cheesy
Anthony Davis is scary when he is on focus. In 1st quarter he is already putting in a lot of defensive stops to give the Lakers an early lead that was kept until the final minute of the regulation.
I like what he did, he just used his height advantage to take rebounds, defend the rim, or catch an alley-oop. He didn't post up too much and was able to save time and follow the fast pace of the game.
With DLo catching fire, their offense is covered and Lebron had been accurate with his shots too. 9/13 field goals in 31 minutes, that's one heck of a high-percentage shooting performance.

The Lakers will advance, they will wait on who will win in Sacramento at Game 7. The only game 7 we have on all the 1st round games.
Yes, it was really Davis who is very instrumental in the game, his blocks, and his hustle play as well (like chasing the ball outside and then encouraging the crowd). D'Lo and Austin Reaves again delivering the goods as well. Nice to see Mo during the garbage time, he looks like to me.

On the other hand, James leaving the floor early, sign that he doesn't respect Memphis or at least Brooks and not going to shake his hands in this huge win. Now, I hope that Brooks will learn his lessons here, do not poke the bear.

So now waiting for the winner of the Warriors and Sacramento Kings. Either teams though will be be a good matchup for Lebron.

As I previously pointed out, if the Lakers won't do something to aggressively contain Desmond Bane and Ja Morant, in Game 6, Memphis has a chance to tie the series and force a deciding Game 7 back at the Memphis home court which will be critical for the Lakers.

And guess what, here in Game 6 which is currently in Halftime, the Lakers are doing a good job containing both Bane and Morant and surprisingly these 2 Memphis Gunners just finished with 5 and 7 points respectively before halftime. Both also not showing a good stroke at their field goal attempts and having a bad night. Who knows though that they might be able to bounce back in the second half.

The Lakers are now up at 17 points. The score is 59-42 at halftime.

Yeah, it seems that the Lakers have a good chance to win the series and go on with the playoffs. They not only contained Bane and Morant, but AD is on fire in this game as well.

As for the Warriors, it was a disappointing lost at home, we thought that they are going to sweep (meaning winning the last 4 games), but they allow the Kings to steal this one at their home court. Now, they are tied, and this is the first series in this playoff that we are going to see a game 7.

The Lakers became the problem in the West right after the moment they made that trade and after a couple of games with DLo, Vando, and Beasley on the roster, the fans started to realize that the Lakers are now a playoff contender.
Judging on the Lakers performance from this series, I think they are capable of making it to the Finals. I mean when they play great, they play great both offensively and defensively. It looks like they made a re-run with how strong their defense was in 2020.

On the other hand, the Warriors and the Kings really had a long and exhausting game 7. This is gonna be good game to watch as they are down with the final showdown. Who ever gets the W will definitely have a good series against the Lakers.

The Nuggets and the Suns will have a great series too. The playoffs are just getting more interesting, I haven't seen a lot of upset in a while now.

With the way Lakers are playing, they are simply becoming deadlier than all the players are adjusting from one another,
unlike before, where most of the time LeBron handles the ball.

The rotations now are really good with all the players inside the court are touching the ball and they keep it moving to find the open man.

I like to the way they play the game, all are options and all are capable of shooting the ball, the good factors also is when you
see LeBron and DLo' attacking both have good options to drop the ball to AD or kick it out to open man.

This is the last route I'd like to take but it a total sham of referring in the first quarter of the game, that's no excuse of course but Memphis Grizzlies were the better side for first few minute and Ja Morant drew the first foul on AD within less than a minute or thereabout, but then it went all side ways from there no single from every blatant, I think such could throw even the best teams of balance for the rest of the game, if I call correctly it took less than 2+ minutes for Memphis to get their first 9 points, but and but it was down the hill from there on!

I don't want to take anything away the brilliance of Anthony Davis or D'Angelo both were absolutely stunning today, I really do It's going to be the warriors the Lakers would be facing next, because should they play the kings, it might just be a significantly similar series like that of this.

Looking like the Kings are going to take the win against Golden State tonight. They’ve got their biggest lead of the series with just over 4 minutes left. That means the Kings have recaptured home court advantage for game 7. The Kings seemed to overcome bad officiating all night long which makes the win that much more impressive.

LeBron is up next tonight…

Kings beat GSW. This is an exciting series. GSW seems like already loss their composure in the since they are already missing easy shots and not eager to get the ball. Kings keeps getting an offensive rebound even Sabonis is already out. Wiggins free throw is terrible on crucial times. I think their mind is already on Game 7 when the lead is already above 10.

This loss is painful to me because I bet on GSW ML which bothering me since yesterday because I knew that Kings can do the same by beating GSW in the home court.

I skip betting on the next match. I really feel that I have the jinx. Let's go LAL!  Cheesy

Not sure but Warriors aside from Klay and Steph,

are not in the winning mode and like what you said seems that they already thinking or planning about game 7,
but we also need to credit the own version of dynamic Duo of Fox and Monk, they bring the game alive in the final

quarter quietly working in the first half, but in the remaining half, they show up and bring the fight to their favor and
steal the celebration of the Dub fans.

Game 7 now and for sure it's anyone's game as both are really trying to win over another a great match up / series
for both teams.

Just awesome seeing the Miami Heat taking out the Milwaukee Brewers, I mean who expected that.  I didn't expect the Knicks to win their game either and had put a small bet down on that game , but of course walked away with a slightly lighter wallet.  I was going to lay a bet on the La Lakers vs Memphis game but decided against which I'm glad, as I'm just not sure that I'm sure where the series is heading anymore.

As much as I hate to say it since I don't like them, that was a nice win for the Warriors last night.

Nobody is expecting this kind of result and I was really shocked about it, this is due to the most injuries that Giannis Antetokoumpo was taking and it surely causes the team so much I really don't know if he was actually injured for just a ghost injury, just like what Kawhi Leonard was doing with the Clippers but it surely broke the whole team getting ejected early like that, I think they need to just get back stronger and healthier next season,

Many didn't expect that happen as the heat is the underdog between this match up, but Butler really show a impressive performance which lift their team to win big against Bucks. Although its unfortunate for this series that Giannis  got injured earlier on the series since if he stay healthy with that maybe the result will be different.

This is good indicator that Miami is in best shape although not everyone expect them to reach on finals but for sure for what happen on series between bucks fans want to see if they could advance up to finals.

Credit to Jimmy Butler he was one tough dude, that pushed too hard to get the Win, while the Bucks is taking some effort but it was really low, and they can not stop the buckets Butler, and if they can not stop that buckets then it is a game-time for Jimmy Butler while because of so many missed games of Giannis Antetokuompo, this has caused them trouble, right now it is good if he would take a break and prepare for the next season early on, getting stronger and healthier this time,

Only the Kings-Warriors and Lakers-Grizz games left as far as I am aware. That is going to be a tough one, most people think Warriors and Lakers will win, but lets remember that the yare the lower seed in these matchups, even though they "may" look like favorites, we had a whole season that proved that they are not. Lakers made some trades so they might be better, and they made a good player out of Reaves that helps decently as well, but Warriors didn't had any changes, they are the same. I think if one of them fails to win, that wouldn't be such a shock, it might actually happen. I know that it is taking a while but it is definitely a good job if we could see them both win it as well, that will be a great success, both lower seeds beating higher seeds at the same time.

I think Memphis runs the table.  If they win in LA it's a wrap.  I think they will lean on theor guard play and because they play well in the paint they have a better shot than a team that relays on 3s all game.  I grabbed the line for them to win this series when they were down 3-1.  If they can snag this one I'm gonna lean hard into that game.

NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum said "it's only a matter of time" before a homegrown Filipino player makes it to the NBA.

Don't get me wrong but it just creating false hopes for PH aspirants honestly.

Just imagine, there are lots of good players in College basketball in the US like ACCA, NAIA, NCAA, USCAA, etc. that still can't make it to the draft list or worst, end up being undrafted even listed on the draft list. And at some cases, will be granted to play at NBA but only for a few days contract and later on, will be sent to G-league.

Not having a "talangka" mindset but that's the reality for a pure-blooded PH player who wants to enter the NBA. A player really has to be a phenomenon, at least, to at least even recognized at the draft selection even just hope that there's a chance to be selected at the last rounds.

But what will an NBA official says when ask about it? That might be the safest answer as they do not want to offend the fans. As a matter of fact, I also read nearly the same line more than 10 years ago when another NBA official was asked. I also became more realistic when I studied drafts and potentials many years ago after Japeth Aguilar was sent to the US to continue his studies while at the same time developing his skills. There are many amateur leagues in the US, hundreds to thousands of schools, and there are also foreign pro leagues and schools in Europe, Africa, and other parts of the world. So it's like when you are not in the starting first 5 in your school, NBA teams scouts won't see value in you. In many pro leagues, not only that you need to become a starting 5 but you need to dominate and be a star for a chance to enter the NBA. Next time, maybe sponsors and well-to-do families should send abroad local hopefuls from PG and SG positions where local players sometimes excel during international tournaments.

I found some interesting article that might be interest some users here especially Filipinos. By the way, this is article is not really connect in the 2023 playoffs that we are currently enjoying now.

This is for the Filipino basketball players who aspires that someday they can play professionally inside the NBA, and of course, for the Filipino NBA fans out there that can't wait to see and watch a full-blooded Filipino basketball player playing inside the NBA.

Quote
NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum said "it's only a matter of time" before a homegrown Filipino player makes it to the NBA.

The key, he said, is identifying the correct pathway and tapping the right talent early on.

Speaking to a group of local media at the league's Manila headquarters, Tatum -- who is in town for the FIBA World Cup draw on Saturday -- said programs like Jr. NBA and Basketball Without Borders are in place to make it happen.
https://www.espn.ph/basketball/story/_/id/36303143/nba-deputy-commissioner-mark-tatum-only-matter-filipino-plays-nba

This might be it because deputy commissioner Tatum himself is giving away some signs that maybe in the future a pure blooded Filipino is nearing to play in the NBA. Talking about that, Kai Sotto might be the nearest candidate to achieve that history for the Philippine people but I'm not that certain if he will enter his name in the upcoming 2023 Draft because the last update I know about him is that he is joining Japan B. League (JBL).

Boston finally managed to finish this round, but we can say that they played two more games. Had they been more concentrated, they could have swept Atlanta. The extension of the series to the 6th match only caused them to play another tiring match. The Sixers, who will now be their opponent, have been resting for a long time. This series is going to be very competitive.
As long as Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum play well like this, Boston will be one of the strongest contenders. When they keep their turnover low and their three-point percentage high, they are very unlikely to lose.

It's definitely going to be an interesting series.  I can't make heads or tails which way it will go.  2 completely different teams.  I see cracks in the Celtics and am leaning towards the sixers here.  My gut really wants Celtics just in case the Knicks sneak past Miami.  I'd love to see another Celtics knicks series and knicks can never stop embid.  He gives them fits.

Well well well , this NBA season is quickly changing towards an epic one. Last night , Celtics finally closed the series against Hawks and they should have done that in game 5 and they are still the strongest team from East because we all saw what happened with Bucks and I can't blame them because they really tried but with some of the players really had consecutive bad days that is kinda unlucky and that is why Giannis told us if we can explain what failure means.

Tonight I do see Kings making a huge game and tie the game 3-3 in this series.
I also see Lakers having a solid game and they should win this one. However,  with Ja on a good night , Grizzlies will win.
I hope the Kings can extend the series and get their home court advantage back. Tonight is hands down the biggest game of the year for them. Would love to see it go well.

Then you have the Lakers second attempt to send the Grizzlies home. AD and LeBron both made some big promises for tonight, so it should be a great night of basketball. One of the biggest of the year for me as a Kings supporter.

The Lakers will surely try to take revenge on the Grizzlies. In the last one between these two, the Lakers were not able to actually perform well. But this time I certainly believe that it is going to be different. But at the same time, the Lakeer team will have to play as an actual team. One or two players performing is not going to get it done for them.

It was as we expected and the Boston Celtics made it to the next round. They will be in the Eastern Conference semifinals by defeating the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 of the series. Jason Tatum had 30 points, 14 and 7 assists and played an important role in the win, with Jaylen Brown scoring 32 points.
I think the Boston Celtics will continue to perform like this in the next games, we can watch them in the conference finals Smiley
For me, Celtics got the good chemistry plus they're gonna start on the home court advantage. Brown and Tatum are doing great things with the Celtics and I think they'll gonna get this and they'll match again with the Heat.
Their last losses is due to their negligence and hawks take advantage with that.
Well, kudos to Hawks for bringing such a tight round for the Celtics, they have extended that one pretty good. I am rooting this will be Celtics win but 76ers was just waiting and has more preparations tbh although Embiid's injury and availability for Game 1 is still questionable so that will be difficult for 76ers.

Yes, no doubt. The Atlanta Hawks literally exceeded my expectations towards them because truth to be told, I was also expecting that the Celtics will sweep them in the first round because it's clear that the Celtics are just hard to defeat but the Hawks fought well in every game they played which I think gave the Celtics some scare that's why they forced themselves a way to steer clear and eliminate the Hawks.

In the 76ers vs Celtics match-up, the latter is the favorite, as expected, but this Sixers will be much different and probably will give as twice as hard time that the Hawks gave the Celtics.
