It was as we expected and the Boston Celtics made it to the next round. They will be in the Eastern Conference semifinals by defeating the Atlanta Hawks in Game 6 of the series. Jason Tatum had 30 points, 14 and 7 assists and played an important role in the win, with Jaylen Brown scoring 32 points.
I think the Boston Celtics will continue to perform like this in the next games, we can watch them in the conference finals Smiley

Nice lineup of games tonight.  I'm most looking forward to the Miami Heat vs Milwaukee Bucks game.  Even though I'm a Chicago Bulls fan and got to witness the great uprising of Jimmy Butler, it's been amazing to see how good he's done since leaving and continue to do without another super star player around him.

Also looking forward to the LA Laker versus Memphis Grizz game tonight.  I think the Laker are going to close out that series, or I guess I should say I just hope they do.

LA Lakers is down, the thing is, they have the luxury to lose this game and then come back on their home court to finished it off. While the Grizz back is against the wall and a must win situation

On the other hand, same situation for the Cavs, down 3-1 against the New York Knicks, the Knicks started as the underdog in this series, but now they are on top. The Cavs is still fighting, down 8 points at the start of the 3rd quarter. And I think this will be another of those game that will be close. The Cavs doesn't want to disappoint their fans here.

Not yet - Memphis only has a single digit lead now, and although it may change, the fact that the Lakers have already come back means they have a big chance of ending the series tonight. Memphis had a good lead, but unfortunately, they're not good at protecting it, so this comeback by the Lakers is very dangerous since they've had a lot of success already in the past, even in this series.

Suddenly, the Grizzlies had a big run and now they're leading by more than 20 points. It's already the 4th quarter, so I doubt the Lakers will still be able to come back. They should rest LeBron and Davis already to avoid injury, as they won't be able to come back anymore. They should just prepare for Game 6 and make sure they finish the series in 6.

Sorry to those who bet on the Lakers - it looks like it's not their lucky day now.

On the other series, Cavaliers has been eliminated already, final series score is 4-1 in favor of the NYK.

I thought the comeback was for real, but Memphis held their ground strong. They didn't want to lose at home. Now this series is getting interesting - a win by Memphis on the road will make the series reach Game 7. So at this point, although the Lakers have the edge, I don't discount the chance that Memphis will be able to come back to win.

Yeah, there was no comeback from the Lakers, they got closed but that legs seems to be tired as well.

But they still have another good game in their and it's going to be in their homecourt. It's just a question whether Lebron or Davis still have the last push inside of them against a young Memphis team. Because as the series goes longer, age might caught up with Lebron here, just saying.

So they better close up the show in crypto.com next game otherwise, I will bet on Memphis to win the series.

^ Giannis was pretty salty in the post game interview. I can’t remember seeing him like that before. His usually sunny disposition turned into personally insulting reporters pretty quickly. Seems like he’s starting to get tired of being on a bad team.

Not even watching basketball tonight. The Celtics and Hawks doesn’t excite me. I’m hoping the Celtics finish off that series so we can get a better matchup.
It's understandable where Giannis is coming from, I mean they are the top seed and had the best record. And then they face number 8 Heat who needed to win in the play-in to advance. Then unfortunate things happen as Giannis was injured in the first game and that's it. After that it was a difference series and it seems that Miami is the number 1 in the East with how they play and make a huge comeback in the last 2 games to clinch and advance to the next year.

So after 82 grueling games for the Bucks and Giannis and getting on top, suddenly they are out. All that hard work, sweat, blood and tears are now going into drain. So yeah, pretty much we can see the emotions during the post game interview.

The Atlanta Hawks had a chance in the fourth quarter, but unlucky for them, the Boston Celtics had their lucky clover. Props to Trae Young with 30 points, 10 assists, and 3 rebounds, but it's not enough to keep them in the series. Congratulations to the Boston Celtics for advancing to the Eastern Conference semi finals, they will face the Philadelphia 76ers. Who you got?

Yes, it's a hard fought game between the Hawks and the Celtics, I thought that the Hawks are going to cover the +6.5 spread on them. And with that, there's no upset on the second seed in the East.

But it's a tough one, 76ers vs Celtics, Joel Embiid vs Jayson Tatum, I think it will boil down as to what team have more heart to win this series. And not just their superstars, their bench and supporting cast will have to show in this series. Both have deep bench though, so it's like the series is going to be a 50/50 to me in the beginning and it's hard to predict who will win the series.

Good for us that Boston advanced. For me they are the most exiting team to watch in the east and the next matchup against Philly is gonna be interesting.

Also I don't like Atlanta with both Trey Young and Murray. They are too cocky for me, I like players more grounded.

Against Philly it's gonna be a totally different game. While Atlanta focusses a lot on PG plays like 3s and cuts to the basket, Philly prefers to inside game for obvious reasons, Embiid.

It's gonna be crucial if Harden can deliver in this series. He has a tendency to disappear in the playoff and if he does in this one it's gonna be tough.
Embiid also still recovers from his sprained LCL and it's still unsure if he can suit up in game 1.

Of course with a strong Maxey and Harris with good shooting numbers they are still a strong team but in my opinion Boston should have the upper hand, not only because of the home court advantage. I predict Celtics in 6 and Embiid crying again.   Grin

Why not?  Grin Actually we are on the same page. I just don't see the Hawks winning the series and I was right. They may have made it more entertaining by earning 2 wins but that team is broken in many ways, in my opinion.
Now the Boston Celtics will advance to the 2nd round and their opponent will be the Philadelphia 76ers. This will be fun. Embiid versus Tatum, both players have earned their way to being in the MVP race.
Will James Harden show he is a better wingman than Jaylen Brown? Tobias Harris will also be a key player for the 76ers. Match-ups will be crucial, who will defend who? I cannot wait for them to start the tip-off.

It is absolutely understandable if Giannis thinks like that. And he was really frustrated. He really tried his best to actually win the game and after such hard work if you lose by 2 points it is obviously going to be very sad and disappointing.

The Miami Heat did play well. The fourth quarter was absolutely unbelievable from the Miami Heat. Before the start of the 4th quarter, I thought there was no way Heat would be able to win the game but they ended up taking the game Into overtime and eventually win.

Hard to believe that the Bucs got eliminated, but Miami wasn’t the best team for them to match up against. I thought Bam had the best shot at containing Giannis. The East is up for grabs now. With the Warriors and Kings playing Friday along with the Lakers and Grizzlies, it looks like that will be a great night to watch some games.

I was really shocked watching the game Giannis Antetokounmpo played the game even though he is not 100% this is a crucial game and the Bucks have busted it because they can not stop Jimmy Butler and if they can not stop the "Buckets" it is clearly over for them when the game hit an Overtime the Miami Heat have to send the number 1 team in the East,

Must be very sweet for the Knicks considering they wanted to trade for Donovan Mitchell in the offseason but for some reason he ended up in Cleveland. Not a big Knicks fan but beating the Cavs in 5 was definitely surprising.

But still the Heat vs Bucks was THE GAME to watch. The Heat are just the 5th number 8 seed to ever advance to the 2. round of the playoffs. This comeback was not only amazing but also historical!

For anybody interested, final minutes + overtime highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBeQTeE9k8g

and it was really insane the game between the Bucks and the Heat, many didn't expect that the Milwaukee Bucks would lose this game while Giannis Antetokuompo is playing with the Bucks and yeah many really did not expect that to happen, but those injuries on Antetokuompo have made him brittle while Jimmy Butler from time to time is an experienced player in the play-offs that is why,

Many didn't expect that happen as the heat is the underdog between this match up, but Butler really show a impressive performance which lift their team to win big against Bucks. Although its unfortunate for this series that Giannis  got injured earlier on the series since if he stay healthy with that maybe the result will be different.

This is good indicator that Miami is in best shape although not everyone expect them to reach on finals but for sure for what happen on series between bucks fans want to see if they could advance up to finals.

Just awesome seeing the Miami Heat taking out the Milwaukee Brewers, I mean who expected that.  I didn't expect the Knicks to win their game either and had put a small bet down on that game , but of course walked away with a slightly lighter wallet.  I was going to lay a bet on the La Lakers vs Memphis game but decided against which I'm glad, as I'm just not sure that I'm sure where the series is heading anymore.

As much as I hate to say it since I don't like them, that was a nice win for the Warriors last night.

You can not blame the New York Knicks if they want to get Donovan Mitchell, but yeah surprisingly the Knicks have shut down the Cavaliers with Donovan Mitchell on it, so this must be fate,

This will be a great series. The Heat might still be the underdog, but only slightly. I'm rooting for them to win because they beat the number one team, so there's no reason they can't beat the NYK.

I'm waiting for the betting odds to come out. My initial guess is that they will be very attractive for the Heat. Hopefully, that will come true.
I will not pick the Heat because they beat the top seeded Bucks, I will pick the Heat because I don't think that anybody from the Knicks team has the capabilities to defend Butler. The only way that the Knicks will win on this one I think is when Butler will get injured (hope will not happen), or if he will be having a bad night most of the time.

Like you, I'm also waiting for the odds, but with how they played against the Bucks, I will not be surprised if they will be favored especially when they're on their home.

Warriors finally winning a road game, which means that if they win at home (and I think they will) it means that we are going to see the series end. It was obvious from the start that Warriors was just a bit better, Kings are not terrible but they lacked experience in those clutch situations at playoffs, and it is known that playoffs is a bit harder and fouls called less frequently so Kings weren't ready, they were still good though, and even today they still have a chance to win as well, so it is not totally over but I will give this one to Warriors.
Like I said, and many said this already, experience is a big factor when it comes to playoffs.

They might be the 3rd seed, but they faced 29 teams to get that standing. Now we are in the playoffs, and all teams' standings are back to 0-0. The Kings might be the 3rd seed this season, but they don't have the experience in the playoffs (aside from Barnes who won a title with the Warriors). That has been the key as to why they won in the road even though they are awful in the eliminations.

Also, the winners of Game 5 wins 82% of the time (with a record of 186-41), and add the fact that the Warriors are very impressive on their home, maybe let's call this series over already?

Miami winning over Bucks is a great proof that basketball is an amazing game, the best record team of this season, ended up losing to 8th seed with one guys sheer willpower and amazing talent. Jimmy Butler just dissected all of Bucks team, obviously Giannis being injured helped Miami seal this win.

Memphis easily passed the Los Angeles Lakers in the match played at home. The score was 116-99. The Los Angeles Lakers still have the field advantage, but I believe Memphis will win the game on Saturday and get the field advantage again. Because Memphis is a better team and team play is more prominent.

Desmond Bane is the biggest threat to the Lakers in this series.

Back in Game 4, the Grizzlies almost steal that game because of Desmond Bane's unstoppable offense in the last few minutes of the regulation. Good thing that the Lakers managed to get some clutch shots in that game and win at the end. Here in Game 5, Bane almost repeats how he performed in Game 4 and consistently draining shots even contested and against a tight defense.

If the Lakers won't do something to aggressively contained Desmond Bane and also, Ja Morant, in Game 6, Memphis has a chance to tie the series and force a deciding Game 7 back at the Memphis home court. The Lakers need to finish the series next game or else, their effort from the whole season just to get into play-in for the playoffs spot, might all be wasted.

They are focusing so much on Morant, but Desmond Bane is a great shooter, so they also need to play good defense on him. Well, Memphis is not a top 3 team for no reason. That's why this series is very unpredictable, although the Lakers seem to have an edge after stealing one game at home. Now, Memphis's job is to steal one game on the road, which they almost did in Game 4 but got careless in the end.

It's a very thrilling series where both teams want to win. So, I would not be surprised if we see a Game 7, but that doesn't guarantee that the home team will win.

Because Memphis is a better team and team play is more prominent. In the other two games, New York and Miami dominated their opponents 4-1 and made it to the play-offs.

I would agree that team play is very important and that's why the Lakers is in the lead right now. Lebron, AD, and others are really working very hard in both ends of the floor. Last game though they were dominated by the Grizzlies because Ja and Bane contributed to their offense. They can't just rely on Ja Morant to win over Lakers, they need to have Bane again and Jaren Jackson and Tillman to score and grab those rebounds.

However, it will be in the home court of the Lakers, and in this series, they were able to win big Crypto.com. So this game or the series is 50-50 still. But if you look at the odds right now, sport bookies is favoring the Lakers slightly.

As for New York, I think we know what is the obvious difference in this series. It was Brunson, the perfect steal this season for New York. It was very unfortunate that they Mavs let him go and didn't match the offer by the Knicks. And Donovan Mitchell exit again in the 1st round.

I do wonder how many of us had Bucks to win last night ? Because frankly , who would had any idea that Heat will come tonight in a great form , played solid basketball and also really made a good defense even if the score won't say that , they really put Bucks in bad situation from where they couldn't score or didn't have time to do it.
I thought that there will be some balance and comeback for them but, that's it. They had to end their journey and just have to come back stronger next season.

 Undecided

Another wasted opportunity for Bucks after playing well during the elimination round.
Well, this is basketball and every team is a threat, hope Bucks will learn a big lesson here. Kudos to Miami for proving that they can win against the top seeded team.

Semis are getting more interested in Eastern conference, let's see if Heat will continue their magic run. Another loss bet for me as well, too sad.
There's even the interview on Giannis and I can feel his frustration although he answered very well, the question if this season was a failure or not. Well, he did really said something great.

Sure you're not the only one who's upset with them having to say goodbye to this season's playoffs. I was rooting for them to be one of those contenders to the finals but then, Heat has kicked them out.
Upset because we actually thought that the Milwaukee Bucks will be among the teams that will be a contender in the Conference Finals but not that kind of upset because the Heat eliminated them and will be the ones who will advance to the next phase. There's no doubt that the Miami Heat deserved that win because the Bucks didn't play well enough and certainly Giannis's injury won't be a reason as the Heat is also undermanned because they have their own share of injured players who even met a season ending injury.
Many have rooted for them because they're one of the strongest team for how many seasons. True that the Heat played well and there's no need to dwell on this frustration but to move on and cheer for them as well.

Too bad we see these two current great teams in the East matching up against each other in the second rounds of the playoffs, I really prefer to see them at the Eastern Conference finals because they are really doing amazing things with their play knocking out the higher ranks teams, I think you rarely see these scenarios in the playoffs but as we can see right now, there is always a chance for the number 8th seed and it happens right in front of our eyes. let's just hope no one will get injured for this is a great match-up here and I think the Heat is more likely the favorite team to win this series.

Knicks are favored in the series.  Home court advantage but it's pretty close.  For any old heads this is an old rivalry from the late 90s.  They met in the 97, 98, and 99 series with all of the series going down to the final game.  And who can forget van gundy throwing himself on Alonzos leg during the brawl.  This is gonna be a tough nosed hard fought series.  I expect this one to go the length.  Go knicks!
