So who do you guys think deserves the MVP for the year? I've been hearing a lot about Joel Embiid on sports outlets like ESPN and my local Chicago sports radio station.  I know that he's been right in the race with Jokic over the past couple years and there's been a lot made about how Embiid should have maybe won one of those.  I also saw Doc Rivers "aggressively" proclaiming that there's nothing left to discuss, Embiid is the clear cut MVP already.

Congrats to anyone who bet on this..it seems he's got it all but locked up.

I think Luka Doncic has had the most impressive season from an individual player standpoint. However, his team is fighting to make the playoffs now and they’re losing at the wrong time. That’s why everyone thinks it’s between Embiid and Joker. Embiid has missed more games this season than any MVP ever has, so if that is a major consideration then I think Joker will get it.

Nikola Jokic should get it. If it's value for the team then there's no doubt he is one of the valuable players in the league and the team. Joel Embiid too, but as you said, he missed a lot of game.
Next season, they will be applying the rule about how many games a player should be present and played to be able to receive an award, good thinking by the NBA to lessen those players that are not playing back to back games. Or, they could apply another rule on how many minutes a player should reach per season to establish a spot in one award.

The revised rules are excellent as they encourage players to participate in all available games if possible. Load management does not benefit anyone, particularly the fans who eagerly book tickets to see their favorite players, only to have them sit on the bench. With the new rules, load management should be eliminated.

Plus the injuries though on Luka, if he can manage to bring the Mavs again in the playoffs and have a impressive numbers, then maybe his name will be in the contention for the MVP race.

But so far, it's between Jokic and Embiid, I thought that Tatum too could be a good contender, but his performance is not enough because the way the two front runners is play. If I have it my way, I will like Joel to be the MVP this year.

Having a few more days to rest before the playoffs start, and also the fact that they would be facing the third instead of first or second is the difference maker. If Lakers somehow manage to get to sixth spot, they will have a few days clear schedule, and they can rest a lot during that period, lets face it they got injured and tired so much during the last few weeks of the season. Plus Kings may have done well this season so far, but when they face Lebron that may change, we have seen him beat many good teams on playoffs before, and Kings is not a team that is been in playoffs for a long time, so it will be a wild matchup for sure. I guess this is why they want to get that spot, not saying they will, but there is a difference between 6th and 7th that is huge.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be very tired and hopefully they will be fit and play well in tomorrow's game because otherwise it will be a little difficult for the Lakers to have a match.

The upcoming game will be very important and difficult for both the Lakers and the Clippers. As for LeBron, he is back from the injury just 5 games ago, and I don't see any reason why LeBron should be very tired even though he played 38 minutes in the last game. On the contrary, it looks like he's just getting back to his old playing shape, considering he made a triple-double in the game against the Rockets and scored 37 points in the game against the Jazz.

I tend to agree with you.  I think maybe that rest for LeBron might have been a blessing in disguise.  They shoukd be going all out tonight.  Landing in the 6 hole vs the 7 gets you a trip to Sacramento instead of Memphis which will be a huge difference come playoff time.  This last week is gonna be fun watching the west.  The east is pretty much ironed out at this point outside of a coue teams.

West became exciting because there's bron and lakers chasing for a spot on playoffs. But even if they didn't successfully get the spot still they are sure in play in contention and that gives them chance to compete. Remaining games became more tight since so many teams still  don't want to get left behind so expect to see more intense game coming from teams which is not sure to get a spot on play in or playoffs.

What you said is quite arguable because I know that many people would really argue with you about that as they don't believe that the champion in this season will come from the Eastern Conference. Apart from that, what's your basis for that one? I think you already know that the regular games are far more different in playoff games especially in the Finals, many teams without good exposures will surely burn out in a series game and other factors that we should consider, which brings us to the unpredictability of results in the coming post season games.

My basis is Bucks, Celtics and Sixers are better than all Western Conference teams. I watched maybe more than 200 games this season and witnessed most of the competitive games. They are all round teams and don't rely on one star player. Bucks without Giannis, Celtics without Tatum or Brown, Sixers without Embiid or Harden can still win games. When Jokić plays bad Nuggets hardly win games. It's hard to win series without using depth of the rotation. Regular season stats also show that first in West is only equal to third in East, 52 wins.

During the fourth quarter of the Houston Rockets - Denver Nuggets game, I was not sure about 1st and 2nd place of the western conference. I thought Nuggets must be mathematically at the 1st place for sure and can't change, because they were playing quite bad and Rockets were on their way to win the game and they did win the game. But Nuggets are only 2 games ahead of Grizzlies. There is still a chance that Grizzlies can be at no 1 spot on the west. It was a very surprising performance from the Rockets. They had started to play somewhat decent in the last 10-15 games and that can be promising for the upcoming years. Alperen Sengun played greatly both offensively and defensively. He seems like the most promising player of Rockets.

The fact that Nuggets is the best team in the West shows us that this season the champion will be from Eastern Conference. I don't think Nuggets can even beat Sixers in third place in the East. They have no chance against Bucks or Celtics. To me whoever wins the Eastern Conference final will be the champion. It's funny that for the most part in recent years West was the dominating conference but that changed lately.

The Lakers are on a roll. I was a bit surprised to see that they were the underdogs against the Clippers tonight. I’m wondering if someone is out that I’m not aware of or something. For me, the Lakers are the favorites to win this game so I dropped down a little bet. The Clippers seem to be having their own issues and with Russell back facing the Lakers, it’ll be a good game for sure.
I agree that the Lakers are really doing great this time, I doubt that the Lakers haters will just ignore that fact that they've been performing well and the addition of D'Angelo helped them a lot.

It's also interesting to see that both teams has got the same standing as of now. Both has got 41-38. Well, this one win is going to mean a lot for them.

I think it's not going to be Westbrook that makes a difference between the teams. I mean he is a decent player there is nothing wrong with that, but we saw him play at Lakers for so long and he helped them with nothing at all, and won't help Clippers neither, but Clippers do have other good players that will help them for sure, that is good enough for them.
Individual performance, I commend him but you're just stating the facts when he's still with the Lakers. He impacted not that much but I think that the timing was perfect and it's also because that both AD and LBJ had gained injuries during his stay.

One of the biggest games of the year is on tomorrow. ESPN will be showing the Lakers vs the Clippers and they are both currently sitting on each side on the play-in tournament with a tying record. There’s a good chance whoever wins tomorrow will be getting the final playoff spot in the west and leaving the other to face the play-in tournament.
That's a game we don't want to miss and let's see how they will gonna play their game against their former teammate Westbrook. As the Lakers continue winning their games these past few days, there is no reason for them to choke on this one unless WB and his new teammates will try their very best to stop them, and there's no doubt that this upcoming game will be like a game 7 in the western conference because no team wants to participate in the play-in tournament when they have a good chance like this to secure their spot in the NBA playoffs.

I think it's quite important to remember that this is a team that plays as well as you can hope for and they are ranked higher than Lakers as well. But this win will mean so much for Lakers considering they may not even be in the play-in tournament if they manage to win this game, and that's very big win.

I’m just now seeing that Embiid scored more than half of his team’s points (53) against the Celtics in a win. 20-25 from the field in a crazy performance against one of the league’s best teams. Doc Rivers said in the press conference that the MVP race is over because Embiid just scored more than half their points in an NBA game. Not sure I agree with that but Embiid will give Joker a run for his money.

Later in the West, there will be a clash of LA teams and both have the same win-and-lose numbers. 41-38 Lakers and Clippers. Whoever wins will tie with the Warriors for the 5th and 6th place.

That's correct, but both teams still have one more game left after this. The Lakers will face off against the Phoenix Suns, while the LA Clippers will play against the Portland Trail Blazers. It's safe to say that whoever wins this game will automatically secure a spot in the playoffs. If the Lakers lose to the Suns and the Clippers win against the Portland Trail Blazers, I believe the tiebreaker criteria could be a win over the other team, if I'm not mistaken.

Both teams knew the value of this upcoming game. Lakers need it a lot in my opinion as they will going to face the hot
Phoenix Suns with KD after this game.

While with the Clippers, they will be meeting the unmanned Blazers who already declared their main alpha's rest for the season.

We don't know what might be the outcome, but for sure fans are excited to see both LAs meeting each other in their own home crowds.

With today's win and if accumulated with several previous wins in this case it seems like the Lakers really want to try their best again now but the problem is today they really have to fight extra for the win against Utah.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be very tired and hopefully they will be fit and play well in tomorrow's game because otherwise it will be a little difficult for the Lakers to have a match.
