However, the NOP are leading against the Grizzlies in a surprised twist of even. The Pelicans force a OT, and if I'm not mistaken, if they win this games, the Mavs are out of the playoff (correct me if I'm wrong).
The Dallas Mavericks are not yet out of the playoffs race. They have a better chance of making it to the play-in tournament as they are currently tied with the OKC Thunder. OKC has one game left against the Jazz, while the Mavericks still have two games left against the Bulls and the Spurs. If the Mavericks win both games, they will make it to the play-in, and OKC will be eliminated.
OKC has 2 games left actually, against the Jazz tomorrow and the last one at home against Memphis.
As long as OKC doesn't lose one more game it doesn't matter what Dallas does, they will be out since OKC owns the tie breaker of those 2 teams.
So it all comes down to this for the Mavs, win both remaining games and prey they OKC loses in Utah or the last one at home.
Since Utah is out it's likely OKC can win this game because they want/need to and Utah does not really care.
Memphis on the other hand can still lose 2nd place in the west if they lose both remaining games and Sacramento wins both ( plus some special things must happen to decide the tie breaker) .
So in the last game it might be that Memphis wants to win this game, then OKC is in trouble and Dallas could profit from that.
