History has been made! Congratulations to Lebron James surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the All Time Scoring Leader in NBA history.

LeBron is on fire in the game against the Thunder. It looks like he scored 36 points too easily, and now he can be called the scoring king, as he is officially the all-time leading scorer in NBA history. It would be nice if the Lakers won on this historic night, but LeBron clearly needs the support of his teammates in the fourth quarter as the Thunder still leads by a few points.

Unfortunately, they lost the game, but everyone is at their feet when he broke the record, and then he acknowledge Kareem himself and Magic and his family and of course the NBA.

This is one for the history books folks, majority of us never got the chance to see Jabbar have that record. But in this era, we've witnessed Lebron James and still continue to score in this season to break away from the pack.

They did not complete the success, they were so focused on Lebron achieving his success but their defense was very weak. I know OKC is a good offensive team, but they allow the team to score 133 points, that's too much if the defense was in place.  Lakers needs to improve their defense, no excuses now as Davis is back, they are a healthy team now.

Cam Thomas on the other hand has the shooter's stroke, this is not the first that he had this scoring madness. Back against Indiana he made 33 points and most of it came from a 2-pointer, he only made 3 distance shots in that game.
I think a bright future is smiling at him if he continues this scoring streak. (given the minutes)
I really like this kid though, not that the limelight is on him, hopefully he will not melt under pressure with that two game with 40 or more points and then having that distinction with a young Lebron James doing that feat before.
That's now three consecutive games with 40+ points. Dude is overflowing with confidence and it shows in his stats sheet.
What would happen to him when KD comes back? I mean, he did great even with Simmons there but when another offensive player is there the ball won't be on his hands all the time, worst is when Dinwiddie is playing too.
Expecting Coach Vaughn to maximize that talent even with their stars coming back to play.

Twitter explodes about Lebron and so do Instagram and Facebook with the recent breaking of the all-time scoring record. He deserves it. Determination, hard work, the activity, and especially for the love of the sport. There will be a never-ending debate about who is the GOAT, but for me, he will be the GOAT of his own era. No doubt.
I bet the brainy people are just looking at making his tearful face be another meme.  Grin
@Ziskinberg Congrats on the bet, nice catch for the 35+.

Finally, Lebron did it. I thought this is going to be how Steph Curry suffered because of the weight of record-breaking event. Too many people are expecting and had a difficult time shooting the three. Lebron on the other hand didn't have much trouble, 20 points at halftime means he could really do it.
I am glad they gave way to celebrate it even if there's 10 seconds left in the 3rd quarter.
Record broken, history re-written, there's a lot of doubt it could be done because MJ can't, Kobe too, but Lebron James did it even on a rough road, truly magnificent.
He deserve to be at the top, that's the reason why he is called the King.
Cried due to happiness, this guy is really genuine. I think it's already expected that he will beak the record because it happened too early.
Also, as we are celebrating, I'm also happy to celebrate my bet because I was able to put a bet on Lebron scoring 35+ in that certain game.
I'll never forget that because it's all written now in the history.

He should add more points because Luka Doncic might get there.
Sure he will because as long as he is healthy, he will have more season to play.

Great time to break a scoring record while LeBron is on fire, unfortunately the Thunder spoiled it by handing them over the L. Now that LeBron is sitting at the top of everyone in terms of all time scoring, this somehow will not end the goat debate lol and that's for sure, this will only add fuel to this burning goat debate lol.

Anyway, I was wondering if there are people who put a bet on this one? I mean LeBron breaking the record against OKC and not against the Bucks.

Now that the history has been made and we've seen Lebron James beating Kareem's record that he held for nearly 4 decades, the question right now that comes to my mind is "Can he reached 40,000 points?" I mean it just came out of my mind and he still have one and a half season on his contract so there might be a chance that he can reach that milestone unless, he will lay-low in his future games.

Yep, he can do it with the time left in his contract. He just needs to average at least 20 ppg.

From his first shot way back to 2003, to being the youngest player to get 10,000 points, to youngest to get 20,000 points, to youngest to get 30,000 points and now the record that most of the people see as a record that's impossible to be broken has been done by the kid from Akron, Ohio. The kid who wants to be a pass-first guy, broke the scoring record that's been unbreakable for nearly 4 decades

He's just amazing. I have nothing to say and I'm literally crying and at the same time, happy with what he achieved. Whether you are a fan of Lebron or a hater of Lebron, maybe you are happy with what he achieved. From his former teammates, to popular celebrities, to even President Biden. They are all congratulating him for what he achieved in his 20-year NBA journey.

Anyway, I'm still amazed on what he achieved. I'm not a big fan of Lebron, but to see him being the new all-time scoring leader aside to the fact that he is also at the top 5 in assists all-time is just something that nobody can break. TBH, I don't know if there is somebody that can break Lebron's record in the next decade or two unless there will be a massive change in terms of offense.

It was done in front of the Lakers' crowd. LeBron breaks Kareem's all-time leading scorer, nothing to say but to congratulate him and all those who support him from the beginning of his career.

Amazing standing ovation for the king, he truly deserves the praise, a good example of an athlete
who dedicate not just his skills but more on how to be a good example in maintaining your physical
health.

He was on a mission to break the record of Kareem, he even break that in the 3rd quarter, just too early as I thought he'll make it in the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, the Lakers may be too overwhelmed by the success of Lebron that they forgot how to defend, yes, they lose in this game too.

Lebron just needs the 1st 3 quarters to achieve greatness, in the 4th quarter, he only scored few points so that does not really help at all. They have to remember that they need to win more to improve their chance in the playoffs because if they will not make it to the playoffs this season, it will not help Lebron's legacy. I mean, people will be thinking that he is good on individual talent but not so good in carrying a team despite he has formed a super team.

With 20 points at halftime it’s looking like LeBron is going to break the record tonight. When they were showing all the celebrities in the house for the game I had a feeling I was going to be wrong. After missing his first two shots he’s been on fire. 16 points in a half is still no small feat, but I feel like he’s got a chance to get it done. Hopefully he can find a way to get a win also.

Nic is stepping up, Simmons? nah, I don't see him becoming the same player as he was with the Sixers. Cam Thomas is a young players so he has the potential to become a Booker or Tatum like player, can impact a team if he continue like this. Nic has been with Irving and KD and has been improving every year. And if I'm not mistaken, he has up his blocks, so he might be a good candidate for DPOY in my opinion.

Let's wait for KD to comeback, maybe him and Thomas could have a good chemistry. He might be the mentor for him and KD might enjoy this new role of his, let's see.
Forget Simmons already because he will not be the same anymore. Cheesy
The trauma that the Philly fans gave to him really affected him so much and so his basketball career.

Claxton and Thomas are the young players of the team that has potential I agree. Claxton has been the surprise big right now because he is leading the block and always having a double-double. Thomas on the other hand just had his 2nd consecutive 40 point game and with Irving out, Coach Vaughn might give him more playing time to showcase himself if he can be a perfect player for the team or not.

The problem with the Nets right now is, what will KD's next move after this. Will he stay in Brooklyn next season? Will he play alongside promising players? With Kyrie out, the chances of Nets winning a title decreased drastically and most of them didn't have a playoff experience or at least the only have less playing time when it comes to playoffs. Claxton and Thomas are inexperienced in playoffs (for me) because they are role players back 2 years ago. I'll wait for KD to come back and see how the new Nets team will be at the 2nd half of the season.

Ben Simmons is still young, there's a big room for improvement but he must work hard if he wants to be one of the best players in the league. I don't see that yet. He just played hard against the 76ers weeks ago to prove something but after that, there's no way I could see him making triple-doubles again.
If ever he want to continue that point-forward position then maybe he should try to learn to do things like the Joker and Lebron James.
Probably it's just him playing against his former team, and we all know that players wanted to perform better against their ex-team mates. There are moments when he got Embiid if I'm not mistaken.

But after that, he had games with 0 points to boot and then he sits out.

Honestly, Dallas was leading all of fourth quarter, they got an easy win. The real issue starts for them now, with Doncic and Kyrie playing together and everyone is saying the same thing; usage rate. Kyrie is a ball dominant guard, and Doncic is a ball dominant superstar as well, put them two at the same time on the floor and there will be at least one of them unhappy, maybe both of them.

If you give the ball too much to Doncic, Irving will be unhappy about it, and if you give it to Kyrie then Doncic will be unhappy, if you share between them then both won't get much and be unhappy together. Which is why this is going to suck for them for a long time, and bet they won't renew contracts with Kyrie this summer.
They just need more practice on them so they'll build the relationship and chemistry inside the ring. Both of them will end up with the same goal and that's win a ring.
In that case, they have to win each game that they'll face and they'll both need to adjust to the likes favorable to the team and not just on their own habits and desires while playing inside an actual game.

Anyone seen the game between the Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz? what happened?

Was watching it when the Jazz was making a run, but I have to make some errands and then spoke to one of my friends about, of all the topic, about gambling. And when I come back, Mavs won already by a big lead 13 points.

But the announcer says that at one point the Jazz lead by 15? So it's a complete turn around? Kudos for the Dallas team for winning against a tough team in the road without Luka Doncic.

I see the same thing happening.  The league is in love with Luka and kyrie has too big of an ego to not be at least the 1(a) option on the team.  If he is treated like a 2 you will see him unravel.  He will ball hog and screw up what they are doing over there.  Luka needs stars with good character kyrie isn't that guy.

Cam Thomas is making a big deal for Brooklyn Nets, the guy's a bucket machine! If he maintains this kind of performance, even Kyrie Irving was traded to the other team, in my opinion it's a win win situation. I'm gonna watch their next game against Chicago Bulls, might he'll drop 40+ points again and make history.

•44 PTS, 4 3PM, 16-23 FG
•47 PTS, 7 3PM, 15-29 FG

This is what I'm talking about. He's been doing pretty well when he starts games even before the Kyrie trade. I hope Durant see enough motivation to stay by mentoring these young guys at least until the end of the season.

On another NOT so breaking news, Ben Simmons has zero trade value according to some articles. That's hardly surprising to anyone who looks at his output per game. He should be mentally ready to play back in Australia because he'll probably get a minimum vet salary once his lucrative contract expires.

Yeah, it's good that we have seen Cam Thomas emerging as the new face of the Nets franchise. Did you see that shot he made in the 4th, like twisting in the air but still hitting the two? Yes, they lost the game, but they gave one hell of a fight, him and Claxton could be the next anchor of the Nets offense once KD is back in action.

For Simmons though, yeah, it seems that he is still not mentally stable to play after the drama he had with Sixers.

And he is destroyed for good and I doubt that he can recover it back.

Someone needs to step up and Thomas shows his willingness while Kyrie is no longer around and the main alpha(KD) Still resting,
that production is something that they need especially when KD is already playing with them.

It will be another interesting offensive power as he can adds up to a threat when everyone is already available,
not sure though with Simmons, like you mentioned he's really destroyed and even he already played a lot this season
he still showing differently.
