I agree that three points made a lot of impact on this but Embiid too? Giannis too? These guys do not shoot that many threes and not in those games neither and yet they still managed to do a career high anyway.

This shows that it's not just about scoring from threes, and many people act as if there are people scoring threes by shooting 10-15 every night. Even if you do that, the difference between 2 point and 3 pointer is literally 1 points. That means on a 71 point game, if you scored 10 threes, that would be 61 point game, still a ton. So, it is all about the fact that defense is horrible and reason for that is the fact that fouls are called on even slightest touch to any attacker.

Is it just me or NBA quality and excitement in games, especially endings went up crazy fast lately? Even though it's only regular season we see great performances, breaking records, unbelievable comebacks and buzzer beaters in almost every game.
Watched two games yesterday night and both of them had crazy ending. Toronto Raptors made an unbelievable comeback and carried the game to overtime but they lost there. Then I switched to Pistons - Warriors game and it had similar end. Warriors almost went overtime with Klay but Saddiq Bey said the last word. Draymond got ejected again. Crazy games we witnessed every night and I love it.

Anyone see the game between the Pacers and the Sixers? no Joel, but they took the lead majority of the game, until it was down in the 4 minute mark wherein the Pacers take a 4 point lead.

However, they force several turn over and tie the score and force OT. And we all know that when the team that chases and force that OT, they usually have the momentum and so this what happen to them, Pacers got tired the whole regular quarters and then the home team has the final push, 129-126 score.

I didn't watch the whole match, but I looked at the highlites. Harden played really well, we can say that they won the match thanks to his defense. It's been great for him to be playing in this team, he can act like a hero again. The block he put at the end of the match was really valuable.
Of course, the game would have been different if Embiid had played Smiley

It's even surprising that the Lakers were able to beat a team like the Heat without LeBron and Davis. However, it should be noted that it's been almost halfway through the regular season, but the Lakers are still struggling, and it looks like the second half of the season will be tough for them because they still don't even qualify for a play-in tournament. As for Schroder, he performed really well in this game, but it's a pity he rarely performs that well.

Since the Los Angeles Lakers are "consistent from being inconsistent" due to several factors including missing key players, a tough road to securing a playoff spot is one of the biggest tasks that they are facing right now. As you mentioned, they are even not qualified even for a play-in if we based on their current standing.

On the other hand, Miami Heat is disappointed with how that game turned out even playing in a complete lineup. Supposed to have a big chance of winning against the handicapped Lakers but end up in a bitter loss.

Happens all the time I think it's a mental thing.  Going in knowing lebron and AD are sitting out, I missed gbling games yesterday but I would've laid on the Lakers.  Bettors and vegas never take that into consideration and the spread always is out of line.  Not everyrime but when a group of stars are out a lot of times the young guys are hungry to prove they belong knowing it might be theor only shot to showcase it.

I simply don't know if Jazz are awful or if Kings are good this season.... because Jazz had a phenomenal start of season by going in 1st place and having a massive winning streak and since then , they are in free falling that seems it won't stop soon. Then , we have Kings who have been at the bottom of NBA for quite some years now but since they got Sabonis , the entire team kinda changed and I don't see them missing the play-offs anymore and this can be a massive boost in moral for this team but also for the city and fans. Cool

Most of the teams have changed since the recent draft and trades and the addition to the teams were really the core fundamentals of why most teams are playing really well and judging by the Jazz's recent good games and winning at the beginning of the season, pretty much this is their team recently exploring what they can do, and I think they don't have any good chemistry yet so if this continues maybe they can pull this off but yeah in recent game they are now always just close away from winning it is like they were curse or something, but most of the time they will not win were the game was pretty much close, while the Kings I think they are finding their rhythm  now and the chemistry of the players aswell,

It will be a struggle, that will be certain. But they still have one of the elite players in the league with CJ McCollum who had been playing great offense and Jonas Valančiūnas. And they don't have a bad bench team with Alvarado, Trey Murphy, and Jaxson Hayes.

Yeah, it was really a struggle without Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, they just manage to pull that win up because of CJ McCollum but the team manage to have pulled a great spread and that was against the Rockets that have known to not be in their great season,

He will be crucial if he misses the playoffs. That means Gordon, Murray, and Porter Jr. will need to step up their game in a level they never had done.
Jokic is the heart of their team, it's hard to imagine a Nuggets team without him.

The Denver Nuggets is a very different team without Nikola Jokic it is not really enough to even with Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon it was very different and they surely struggle a lot right now Jokic needs to stay healthy until the play-offs, well teams like these are just managing in surviving if they can get the championship with that just less effort then it is a jackpot for them, but right now Denver Nugget is still good with a healthy Nikola Jokic on their side,

He made an easy shortcut by joining Wade and Bosh in Miami, just like Durant, he also joined Curry and Thompson to win championships. If there's no hope in a team, then that talent needs to be taken to a team that has a decent chance of winning a championship.

Easy shortcut? I will disagree with that.

When Lebron James joined the Miami Heat, there are lots of strong teams during that season, the stacked Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, etc. Miami Heat was also not that performing well a year prior when they acquire Lebron. The team was eliminated by the Boston Celtics with superstars Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen on board in 5 games in the 1st round of the playoffs. Lebron joined Wade and Bosh to challenge those superteams.

The situation was different and can't be compared to when Kevin Durant joined the Golden State Warriors where prior to his arrival on the team, the Warriors have a record of 73-9 and they are reigning the NBA during that season. Warriors though on that year, even with that record lost in the Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers even though they are up by 3-1.

That's mainly the reason why my bets lost, who would've thought that without Joel Embiid, the Sixers will still get the win at the end of the day especially if they are against the Pacers. The latter team got the advantage of course because Joel is not around and they will prevail when it comes to intense times that needed them to step up, and they will always take advantage of anything while the other team is undermanned just like earlier.

Same thing with the Sacramento Kings, they lost against the Hawks that has no Clint Capela on the hardwood. There are some times that they could've lost the games but they haven't, just this time when they got the advantage as well.

They easily got gassed off and lost the momentum, but it's a great showing from the 76ers albeit missing 1 key player. Harden isn't as explosive as he is supposed to be even though he got enough rest. Luckily his team step up and contributed greatly to the team effort for them to win this game at home. Harris was definitely on fire that game making 10 rebounds and 19 points. They all did this without Embiid, what more if they had the guy?  Cheesy

So we are in a different era right now that as Luka said, it's easy to score in the NBA. And we can add to the sports medicine and trainings too has progressed in the last 20 years. A lot has really contributed why we are now seeing players scoring 40 points and higher per night.

Lots of changes in the rules that made NBA what it is today. It's easier to score right now because the game isn't as hard physically as it was in the era of MJ, Ewing, Malone, etc. But if you have those same rules and the same physicality, for sure the three-pointers of today's league will be harassed and boxed extremely and they wouldn't be that comfortable shooting from the outside.

Lebron took years before he can get a championship although he was a promising rookie at the start of his career.

Took him some time because basketball is a team-play game. Sure he's one of the best players that this league has seen, but you can't expect one man to be inside the court for 30+ minutes full time every single game just to carry his teammates. Even MJ needed the help of Pippen for most of the grunt work before he was considered the greatest to play the game. Lebron just needed solid teammates like what Curry found with Klay and he'll get those rings too.

If Luka will manage his health correctly the way LeBron does, he might have that ring that he wanted either to do a shortcut or wait for the Mavs management to surround him with good role players.

Mavs already did it before. If my memory serve it right, they provide good sets of role players
for Dirk and they win the title.

I believe that Dallas owner have that capabilities to bring good players who can help Luka
in winning his first title.

I was surprised to see the Lakers pull out a win over the Miami Heat. Without LeBron James in the lineup you had to figure the Heat would win easily but that wasn’t the case. Schroeder stepped up and scored 32 to lead them. Adebayo and Butler had big games for the Heat also, but it wasn’t enough for them to get the win as they lost by 3, 109-112 Lakers.
Kinda surprising but more surprising if they will sustain their way of playing against the Heat in their next games.
I mean without Davis, Lebron really needs help from other role players offensively. Good to see Schroeder stepping up in this game and got the victory. Not that many people are talking about the center of Lakers right now which is Thomas Bryant. I believe he is a big help with the team with Davis being absent. He just stepped-up big time on this game and I believe he is a good role player at the center position.

This is where it all goes wrong for one great player. Lebron took years before he can get a championship although he was a promising rookie at the start of his career.
Let's take note that when he is Cleveland on his rookie season, the team are on the bottom team before he was drafted.

The team only changed and become better when Lebron came to Cleveland. Well obviously, 1 player can't change the whole team from a bottom team to a team who will get the title in just one year. That's the reason why it took him years to get a title and I believe that's also the reason why he decided to leave Cleveland. He believes that he needs another all-star to win that's why he went to South Beach alongside Wade and Bosh and there, he got 2 titles.

His rookie season and its succeeding year really is a very good season to him. It's just that, he doesn't have enough players around him that can help him win that title at that time.

Let's just appreciate how they play right now and so far, this is the most surprising season we had in the last 10 years because of how the star players in the teams turning their games into something historical play. With them being consistent in making their shots to score more than 50 points, they are about to surpass some great records this season and they are a few more points to be in the second but Kobe's still the best one after Wilt's 100. Do you guys think Victor Wembanyama can be the next Wilt Chamberlain? let's see if he gonna score more points in his first-season debut in the NBA.
That will be tested. Because sometimes rookies tend to be surprised at how big the difference the NBA can be. There will be bullies, there will be unwanted physical contact, and locker room issues. If he can somehow deal with that after a year or two then we could say he might surpass even the greatest name in NBA history.
Then there's building a team to surround him with good players if the management wants him to be the face of their franchise. This is where it all goes wrong for one great player. Lebron took years before he can get a championship although he was a promising rookie at the start of his career.

Because nowadays they are more focus on 3 point shots, and the games are in a fast pace mode. Look at the scoring, most of the teams combine can easily score 220 points, before I think some teams even struggle to reach 200 points.

What a night in NBA games , right ?

Starting with Bulls who got a very important victory over Nets who had a winning streak of 9 games before meeting Bulls. With this mega important win , Bulls keeps their dream alive of getting into play-offs.

Yeah, finally, the Bulls played very well in their homecourt and what a way to win against the hottest team in the Nets, finally seeing their winning streak ended.

The Warriors as well, ending their successful run in their homecourt losing to Detroit.

Kings...man...I've had a post about them some days ago and I was talking about how great they are this year and play-offs should be reachable for them but last night Hawks had a little bit of extra luck and manage to put those essential 3 points in front and locked the victory.

Another close game by the Kings, unfortunately, Trae Young and Murray had a big games, both with 21 points.

Lakers...are playing much better without LeBron and AD in my opinion only.

It's probably they feel comfortable at their homecourt that even without AD and Bron, they manage a close win against the Heat.

Lakers 112 - 109 Heat

 Cheesy

we have been performing well in the last few games, for this game in the first period we won comfortably by a difference of 11 points, then in the second period we lowered the pace and with that we lost by a small difference of points, but in the third period we lost again but with a small difference in points compared to the 2nd period, and finally in the fourth period we managed to win by a small difference in points, with this victory we have 4 victories in the last 5 games and we already have 3 consecutive victories, and a better performance than even a few weeks ago

Even though the Lakers were severely shorthanded missing three starters in LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Lonnie Walker IV, they still came away with a 112-109 victory to improve to 17-21.

https://s22928.pcdn.co/recap-shorthanded-lakers-come-away-with-scrappy-win-over-heat/2023/01/04/

King 117 - 120 Hawks

without a doubt this was a very disputed game, in the first period the two teams tied, it was a very disputed period, already in the second period the Hanwks won but with a slight advantage of 3 points, in the third period again the two teams tied, in the fourth and last periods again the two teams tied, with that it was clear that the second period was decisive in this game
