Finally Mavs are looking what they suppose to look since 1st game : a very good team who scores a lot , make few mistakes and with a Luka being MVP contender for this year. Last night , they had a rough game with Knicks who were looking for some points in order to keep them in play-offs spots but Mavs are on point lately , having 4 winning streak games and with the current pace , this winning streak could go quite long. Grin

They are not easy to beat and Luka has been 100% healthy so he can contribute crazy numbers. Also, the coaching staff is good, they know how to utilize Luka very well and his teammates can score. This team has a decent chance of being a championship team, and they are more exciting to watch especially in the playoffs.

Yes, Luka could be 100% healthy, but the question is with his team mates, they need to be very consistent to help Luka in the offense. Last year they were all hitting that outside 3's, specially Luka penetrating and then kicking it out to them. But this year, it was a different story. And it seems they can't find a perfect fit for Woods, in my opinion.

Will Luka be able to take his revenge on the teams that beat them last playoffs? especially the warriors.....

I guess it's the question Suns and not the Warriors, The Suns as the top seed lost to Luka, Booker doing the trash talking on Luka back fired, as Luka singlehandedly tear them apart.

Luka definitely got it done tonight. They’re saying that’s one of the greatest stat lines of all time. The shocking thing to me is that he’s able to do it in spite of not being the quickest or most athletic guy. He just seems to get the ball in the basket no matter what. Besides the crazy numbers, he did it on 68% shooting from the field. Extremely efficient and impressive. He’ll be an MVP in the next couple years.

They're saying that if he has some star players in their team that could ever help him on the court, it would be easy for him to get that MVP award or might even climb the ladder to be an NBA champion but Luka is still young and he is not prone to injury guy, he has lots of room to dominate the league and might be one of the greatest players that ever plays in the NBA because of how talented he is. Let's just hope that he keeps doing this kind of play throughout his prime he really needs to care of his body because when he returned from a major injury, most likely he wouldn't be the same anymore.
Luka is a phenomenal athlete. Even though he is not particularly quick, he has incredible timing and precision. But Luka won't ever bring home a championship except if he gets some assistance. That is the new normal of the NBA. For a team to win, you want to have no less than two stars in the group. If Luka doesn't get help from the Dallas Mavericks, he will accept other tempting offers from other teams when his contract expires.

Tired as hell and needs a recovery beer, that's what he said in the post game interview. Just wow! The game, the performance, and those hail mary threes they made down the stretch when they're down by 3 possessions. Whoever was watching this game, you guys just witnessed history.
Luka is indeed got some magic in his hands. How could he possibly sink that last second deliberate missed free throw and the follow up? Lol, it was like the play was designed for him to put the game in OT.
60/21/10 a tough act to follow especially for a PG. A center or a PF may beat this, but then again, it will never be easy.
Yeah, I consider myself lucky for watching the full game on television live. That was one heck of a game and I doubt I could easily forget this day.
Also, I don't think it will be broken in years, if there is one maybe Jokic could, but it will be a difficult and tiresome feat.

And have you seen how shocked he is when the reporter said he made 60 points? Luka asked, 60?  Cheesy He didn't even know. He just kept working his ass and never looked at the stats line.
I am sure damn lucky I am alive to witness this kind of event, who knows if it will ever happen again.

Luka will one day win an MVP award, the kind of passion he is showing is remarkable and his team is just keeps improving. Now, they have a good PF in the person of Christian Wood, it should be easy for them to be in the playoffs and will give their opponents a hell of a competition.

Yeah, just one hell of a performance from Luka in this game, those 3 they made really put the dagger on the hearts of the Knicks. But it was all Luka, so what can we say, the numbers he put was one for the ages and we don't know if somewhat can a beat it this season although we have seen 50 point performance already, but this performance is very special and yeah this is history and put his name on the MVP discussions again. Dinwiddie and Christian Wood did a good job on helping Luka score too.

It was  a great win by the Dallas, they are supposed to lose the game but Luka's concentration on that last shot was just insane. The crowd was also a big factor on that win, cheering for Luka and the team inspired them even on a game that is already impossible to win. IIRC, less than a minute and the Knicks are up 9 points and yet Dallas did not give up.

Yeah, I agree, it's one of the greatest numbers we have seen in recent years. And I think that's what Luka's strength is, he is not the quickest he admit that, but he was able to take advantage of it and somewhat confused his defenders. And so it became a advantage for him, unless players like Ja Morant for example, very explosive, but sometimes he is predictable, (going to his left), that's why his guard can defend him very well. Unless Luka who yo don't know because of his speed that he is going to pass or not. And so far this season, that is the biggest single point in a game we have seen so far.

The Nets are starting to look like they’re firing on all cylinders. They’ve quietly won 9 straight with Kyrie and KD both scoring more than 30 in their last outing. KD looked a little frustrated at times yelling at teammates, but maybe that’s what they need out of him as a leader because whatever they’ve started doing seems to be working. They’re now the #3 team in the East and looking good.
They've won 9 straight games but surprisingly, nobody is talking too much about it, or I'm not updated only Cheesy.

Nevertheless, it's good to see the Nets starting to get some wins already after that awful start and a lot of drama that went on. Looks like their new coach is a perfect fit for the team. It seems like the yelling that KD is doing is firing all of the Nets roster and performing way better than what they are. KD and Kyrie are expected main offensive players for the team but what's better is that they are getting enough help for their role players and Simmons is slowly getting his rhythm already.

The Nets are 3rd in sportsbook before the season in which team has a higher chance to win. With their current roster and their current performance and if they will continue to play like this and there will be no injuries, they are formidable team to deal in the Eastern Conference.

With the way they are trusting each other and how the role players are performing, I can go with that statement, without any injuries
and with a complete squad moving to the next round, Nets is one of the good contender from the east.

9 straight winning streak and both of your superstars are playing hard. They are boosting the
role players to act and play the way they wanted.

Good to see that we are really seeing KD as a leader, with that yelling something that he needed
to bring his competitiveness with his teammates.

I don't know. But I believe LeBron James is still the Lakers best player.

One factor that I think is relevant is that, he is not as enthusiastic with the team, like beforehe, day after day it seems that the level of the Lakers is decreasing and I believe that this is putting LJ down.

AD is greatly missed, and I have no doubts about that. An interesting point is that, if LeBron James suffers an injury, the Lakers still have a player who can replace him (in the worst case, adapting, maybe Westbrook, Walker, Reaves, Beverley and others). Now if AD gets injured and needs to stay out (and this is happening), unfortunately the Lakers don't have a player that can replace him, because he is an extremely high quality PF/C and an excellent defensive player, and the reserves or others Lakers players are unable to resolve their foul.

You actually made a point about why Lebron is not the main man of the Lakers right now. AD is. If Darvin Ham could just move him to PF rather than C, then maybe he could be less injury prone.

....
Well, at his age, he's stamina is relatively low as well, but the surprising thing is that he still plays 36 MPG.
It's not as surprising anymore when you don't hustle as hard on defense and spend most time in the court on offense. Some would even argue that he continues to play a lot of minutes for stats padding in order to catch or surpass Kareem's all-time NBA leading scorer record.

Let us not go there. Leave the stat padding conversation to social media. I believe Lebron decided that his energy best serve the Lakers in offense rather than defense. I do not agree with this but that is how he thinks his energy should be spent. I think he should spend it on defense since that is what his team is lacking. In the offensive department, I think AD, Walker, Westbrook, and the others can chip in to that.

Ja Morant do have some talent and I know he do know that fact but he is not yet there. Someday, we will see him what he is like on the peak of his prime and by that time, surely he will carry the whole team on his back. Although, from what I observed, his performance will likely get him some serious injuries.

I am observing the same with Ja Morant. He could be great but he needs to put in the work, prepare his body to be less injury prone. It is nice to see athletic players but too much might get him long-term injury. If he keeps at it, he might end up like D Rose.

Luka Doncic is magical! I don't think he is human.  Grin

A 9-point lead by the Knicks in regulation with 33 seconds left in the 4th quarter. Mavs trapped them every play, tied the game and they took it to overtime. That last shot by Luka was so unbelievable it will probably be in the best highlights forever. (including his reaction)
Overtime was mostly Mavs, they won it there.

Two weeks ago we saw Jokic join the legends with 40/27/10 and now here is Luka 60/21/10. A new record in NBA.

Good night Dallas.

Looks like we've got some decent games to bet on today in the NBA.  I may find myself laying down a parlay on the Lakers to beat the Magic, 76ers to beat the Wizards, and the Celtics to beat the Rockets.  I think there are good odds for those to all play out.  We'll see of course as I haven't had a chance to look at who is out for the games tonight.  With LeBron saying the Lakers are at the point where they need to have a sense of urgency, I like their odds tonight over the Magic, who many thought would be trying to tank this season.  The only "sure thing" bet tonight seems like it would be the Celtics though.  They're playing great and the Rockets are one of the worst teams in the league.  That should be an easy W.

Never won any money betting on NBA, Just crazy results there. Few  days ago bet on Memphis against OKC with tons of injury, and OKC beat them

That's gambling on any sport.  If it were easy or a sure bet everyone would lay in.

On another note I know I am biased with my knicks but I think this is an interesting matchup at this point in the year.  A good measuring stick.  On the road against a Dallas team with the same record and they decently match up.  The tough matchup will be grimes on Luka.  Interested to see how the kid hangs with Luka.  You can't stop him but you can contain him and force some bad shots along the way.  Can't wait to watch.
same here NFL and NBA i love sports just horrible with betting on them trying to watch here to see if i can find the posters that seem to win the most and start mirroring what they do.  regarding gambling i'm best at lotteries, cash3, cash 4,  pick 5 numbers.

How are you best at lotteries?  By nature they are just random ypu can't be good or bad at them.  With sports you can use your insight and sports knowledge to bet.  I mean this is a little off topic for this thread but how are ypu good at lottery?

they may be random however by being random there are times numbers follow patterns based on historical data certain numbers may fall at certain times of year or months.  it's a lot to explain but even though you have a 50/50 shot you can increase your odds at times by doing research on past number patterns with the understand it is random however if you have some historical knowledge that a certain number falls during a certain time period you can play increased amounts with hopes that it does fall with a 50/50 chance.  if i weren't aware of those patterns i wouldn't lay in wait for the number to fall.

Lebron is not the main man anymore. Though he can still contribute to the offense, he is not that much anymore in defense. He is not as intense as he was when he was in Miami or in Cleveland. AD is the main man of the Lakers right now but his availability to play prohibits him to carry the team. IF Lebron is not bringing too much income to the Lakers organization, I think he will be out already. Let's see how far the current roster will take them and how long the Lakers will stick to AD and Lebron if they do not bring success to the Lakers.
I don't know. But I believe LeBron James is still the Lakers best player.

Lakers sucks, which means Lebron could be their best player but that doesn't mean that it means he can carry them neither. Sure he is carrying them to better than without him levels, but it is not enough and they are not in playoffs.

Ever since he came to Lakers, weirdly enough, they had one season when they became champions and all other years they sucked and were terrible. First year he was bad and injured, then championship, then last year, and then this year and so forth, it is just all bad except one year and that's it. I am guessing that it is not going to be possible for Lebron to just take a team to title all by himself ever again.

He will surpass Kareem, there's no doubt about that but stat padding is not on his bucket list. I just don't see it.
About defense, well he had a history of being bad at it even when he was young.

He is not Westbrook, so he will not do that... What Lebron wants now is to win another championship as he is already fulfilled with his individual records, but on the discussions of the greats, winning a championship is his best weapon to be considered as close to the greatest.

LeBron James is prioritizing more to add another championship trophy in his closet, at least 1 before he says goodbye to the league, but I don't think that he can do that this season. He could've carried the team if he can but that is not the case anymore and right now, he is becoming a liability to the Lakers defense. Breaking another record like passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to the all-time points leader will come, so there's no need to prioritize that as he only needed to be consistent on his contributions per game.
I am pretty sure that he's still aiming for another title before closing everything, but yup, that title can't be done for this season,
a lot of competitions who are much more capable of winning the title.

With Lakers, LeBron can make more points and achieving in breaking Kareem's record is not
by far anymore, with his healthy body, he can surpass that record and lead the NBA in scoring
title. An individual achievement that can be added to his supremacy.
