I just saw a TikTok video of Mr. Ramon Ang being interviewed by Anthony Taberna. In the interview, Mr. Ang mentioned that his company is spending at least 1 billion pesos a year on their teams in the NBA. It seems that these teams aren't making a profit, but they can't remove them because it would upset the public. He also pointed out that the Bay Area Dragons vs. Ginebra Game 7 Finals had more attendance from fans compared to the opening of the FIBA WC or the first game of Gilas Pilipinas.

What are your thoughts on this? Is he telling the truth that these teams aren't making money? And what should the league do to make every team profitable?

On another news, John Amores join the PBA Draft, do you think he will get drafted?

https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/john-amores-focused-on-pba-bid-after-punching-incident-in-ncaa-a795-20230913

We will find out tomorrow whether he gets drafted or not, but if you ask me, everyone deserves a second chance. The guy has had anger management issues in the past but has been able to control himself. For more information, we can look at the players who have applied for the draft pick.

Check this article.
The drafting season right now is quiet interesting and let’s see how the teams eyeing for the rookie, this will be a good opportunity to those who are at the bottom and yes a good opportunity for every good players. I’m not sure though about the skills of Amores but since that issue was about emotional control and being too physically aggressive, I think that can happen again in PBA especially its more on physicality now, well its ok to give second chance as long as he deserve it and he proves to be a changed player now.
Everyone is open to join the draft list and its up to the team if they will draft the players.
This is actually a great opportunity for Amores to prove his talent and that attitude was already addressed for sure. Let’s give then a second chance just like the brawl with PH and AUS before, we didn’t condemn the action of the players and still accept them. There’s a lot of good players PBA draft, though for sure they will settle for a least team and then later on will be traded to a better team and this has been the scenario.

There are returning players too that exciting to watch like Calvin Abueva and Terrence Romeo.

I hope they can return to their usual athletic shape despite those injuries in the past and already passing their prime.

These two could bring the energy to the team that is needed for them to win. Romeo has faced injuries in the past, but he still played well when he was healthy. Calvin Abueva, on the other hand, might not be the same, but he is more patient now, which is good for the team so he won't be thrown out of the game in case their opponents target him. Calvin is the type of player that you can truly say has 'PUSO' because he plays with high energy, which is infectious to his teammates.

Calvin is known to be a player who plays with high energy on the court. Despite not being very tall, his hustle is highly commendable, and we need that kind of player to energize the whole team. Calvin Abueva could have played overseas, but he chose to stay with the PBA. Now that he has been given an opportunity to represent the country again, I'm sure he will do his best to bring gold to Gilas Pilipinas in the upcoming Asian Games.

We were all excited when he returned from years of suspension in the PBA, so I'm sure we had the same feeling about seeing him play again for our team. However, he is not getting any younger, as he is already 35 years old, so we might not see the same Calvin that played before for Gilas Pilipinas. Nevertheless, since this competition is only in Asia, I'm confident we will not be left behind even if we do not reach the championship round.

You can find his statistics here: ; https://basketball.realgm.com/player/Calvin-Abueva/Summary/44990

I believe his production has not declined.

Yes you are right that mate Calvin the beast abueva is one of the best player in PBA and like what you said he is full of energy and yes if he will represent again in our country then one thing for sure we will bring the momentum and confident for the team and also I salute this player cause even though in his attitude in basketball bit still he has to prove that he is one of the best.

I'm not very familiar with the players who have applied for this draft. I think I only know one, and that's the most popular one: Ricci Rivero. He's well-known, partly because he used to date Andrea Brillantes, so he's quite famous, hehe. Hopefully, the team that drafts him will become popular, especially if they are in need of a talented point guard.

It's certainly not going to be Ginebra or SMB. Usually, when talented players get drafted, they end up with a low-ranking team like Terraferma or Backwater. However, as they consistently contribute and make a significant impact, they often get traded to the top teams owned by either MVP or the SMB group. This has been the trend, so we shouldn't be surprised by it. I'd like to speculate, but since the draft pick is tomorrow, I think I'll just wait for the announcement.

Trending practices as farm team will get the first picks and will have that chance to sign a good quality player but along the way when both MVP and SMC spot the potential we will see them being traded, there's no need for the rookies to choose they just need to play hard to be notice then future for this young star will be bright if one of the two giant company will request or offer a trade for them.

Else, after playing and showing good numbers, they can also seek overseas and try to make bigger offers, as long as they manage to step inside PBA and be able to play to showcase their skills. That's the capital that they need to invest.

We all know what kind of addition he can bring to the team but we also need to remember that he's no longer on his prime unlike before when he first join the National squad, considering his age and all those injuries that he already has, but on the back of my mind I still believe that both him and TR7 will bring that same hypes to this squad.

Looking to see both of them sharing the floor with all other players that will going to play alongside with them, hopefully we will
able to win the gold and a possible ticket for the Olympic.

I just read some updated from one sports, https://www.facebook.com/OneSportsPHL

It says that ;

Quote
The Philippines’ Asian ranking remains at 8th, as Japan (no. 26) and Lebanon (no. 28) make big jumps.

Which means in the Asian Games, it's a good challenge for the Philippines since we are ranked 8th. So the question is, can we win the gold medal this time? If not, which country do you think will win?

Calvin isn't really an offensive threat; he is more known for his defense and rebounding. So, I would like to see the same in the coming Asian games. Although I've seen him shoot well from the 3-point range before, that was under Coach Tab. Since it's Tim Cone now, I expect that his role will change. According to his statistics, his 3-point shooting isn't that impressive.

Columbian DYIP is expecting they can get Justin Baltazar in the upcoming rookie draft pick but later or sooner we all know that the big man will soon ship to San Miguel Franchise or MVP Group of Companies teams lol. It's good that Baltazar skipped the year's draft pick and he can joined in the next year's draft instead. Under contract to a different league can't just be push but Baltazar should know that in the first place. He might have his own reason and don't want to disclosed it.

The roster of Gilas for the Asian games is truly the typical players that we wanna watch. This is more different from the other one that has participated in the FIBA World Cup. But no offense to them as they are both great rosters and have represented our country in the best that they can.

By the way, Baltazar skip the PBA draft, not sure for the actual reason, but maybe he still wanted to continue his game playing with his Kapampangan squad.
Maybe the contract he's got in his team is intact and his bond with MPBL can't be breached and that's why he has to skip the draft. Perhaps, he can be signed by any team directly without going through the draft right? There are interesting names that are in this year's PBA draft and some could really be on the top pick while the unknown names as well that don't follow collegiate leagues might be surprise on those names that might be on top pick.

Yeah there are lots of names that included to this year's draft and for sure agents and coaches are already negotiating behind for those selected players that have the qualification to move forward and be drafted by the team who would like to get their services, I like to see if Kyt Jiminez and Ricci Rivero will make it to this draft or what will happen to them.

To many speculation regarding on his decision to skip on PBA draft but maybe he just realize that maybe he will go to corporate super teams and sit on the bench. This situation can totally waste his talent so maybe he decide to stay on MPBL and wait better contract like in Japan B-league or in KBL where he can get a better compensation and exposure. Let see if his decision will change and he decide to get draft on PBA next season.
If I were him, I'll stay to MPBL if I am treated right and earning earnestly. But he can't ignore the opportunities that might come to him if ever a B League team invites him or from KBL or even from Taiwan.

Maybe he's being treated right or maybe he really love playing for his province that's why he skip the draft for PBA and choose to continue playing with MPBL or possible also that he's waiting for overseas offer which really huge as he already played before and experienced the amount of money that he earned.

Perhaps he has other goals. The PBA is no longer the best league where our young talents ultimately dream. I'm sure they will be attracted by the salaries offered by overseas teams, just like Abando, who achieved success and earned a lot of money. So, if Baltazar believes he can showcase his talent internationally, the PBA may not be needed anymore.

Yeah, that was him, we can read some article regarding that.

Tim Cone apologizes to Justine Baltazar for ‘hasty remarks’ on Gilas Pilipinas availability

Therefore I think there has been no more issue between them, afterall Tim Cone is the coach and Baltazar is the player, so it's still up to the coach if he will pick Baltazar to be part of the roster. Personally, I'm more excited to see the veterans, particularly Romeo, as I'm sure the team will be entertaining to watch.

I'm wrong in my speculation that Baltazar will join the Gilas for the Asian Games because per Spin.Ph, coach Tim Cone is not gonna pick this guy at least for this Asian stint because he is not familiar with Baltazar's style of play and they have no more time to adjust therefore the list that was released the other week is final.

For sure we will see Baltazar in a Gilas uniform after this Asian Games, maybe in the FIBA qualifying tournament as he will be part of the pool by that time.

A 6'7 young guy who can play with or without the ball, I think if given a chance again he can be useful knowing how coach Tim drives his players, for this Asian games since preparation is not that long coach Tim and his gang needs to have someone who's he already familiar, and same with how you see it, I guess Baltazar can again join the National when they start the call again, hopefully he keeps on improving and be away from any hard injuries.

By the way, Baltazar skip the PBA draft, not sure for the actual reason, but maybe he still wanted to continue his game playing with his Kapampangan squad.
