Did you just guys see another Ahanmisi 2.0? Like what he has asked his former team to have 900k-950k pesos of salary for his contract? The recent guy who did that was Jeron Teng. He's also asking for a high salary from Fiberxers but he's declined. Do you think that a better team will take him?
The salary we are talking about here is monthly? That could be huge because, as far as I know, it was only JMF who received a huge salary like that in the past. So, to demand that kind of salary, they must be really good. I think it's possible if they play overseas, but in the PBA, I think that's too much to ask for a player who hasn't proven anything yet.

He wouldn't be called 'Iron Man' for no reason. It was a stage 3 colon cancer, but he survived. God is good all the time.

PBA: Ginebra’s LA Tenorio diagnosed with Stage 3 Colon Cancer – Will he retire from basketball?

As for retirement, there hasn't been any news about that. But it's really surprising that he is cancer-free in such a short span of time. So if he is really 100% back, then there's no doubt he will come back with Ginebra and play.

This is good news for LA Tenorio, one example where money could help you in this situation. He can come back to playing in Ginebra if he wants but if I were him, I would just stick to the coaching job and give his spot to the young guns. He is almost 40 years old so that is already a good reason to retire.

Meanwhile, Kyt Jimenez just got an offer sheet from SMB, not a contract yet but that is a good sign for the last pick of this year's draft. If he can make it to the final lineup then this guy must be good as SMB is loaded with talented guards.

Agree with LA it's better to continue his journey working side by side with coach Tim though it's still his option if he thinks that he can still play and he can still administer inside court, and we know him after Caguioa his the one who continue that kind of leadership to maintain that good chemistry and the type of brotherhood this franchise have.

And in terms of Kyt, the chance of getting an actual contract is nearing. Hopefully, it will be converted to a rookie contract placing him as part of the final lineup.

Ginebra needs a good point guard, and LA can provide that to the team. We know that Ginebra is a super team, probably the best team in the PBA now. I believe what the team needs to do is just to manage his minutes; he can be very helpful in crucial moments, as he has a lot of experience in that and has won most of them.

About Kyt, I think I need to see some of his highlights. It seems like this guy is so hyped right now.

I was browsing on the PBA officiat website and seen this interesting article, so I thought of sharing it.

Cancer-free LA ready to rejoin Gilas, Ginebra

Quote
TIM Cone happily announced Barangay Ginebra guard LA Tenorio is now cancer-free.

The champion coach said Tenorio just finished his final check up in Singapore on Tuesday where he was declared healed from the Big C by doctors.

"He's finished with all of his chemo seasions, he's been declared cancer-free, and he told them within days, he can start practicing," said Cone of the latest health condition of his long time court general.

Tenorio did a video call with Cone and the rest of the PBA Board while league officials were on a meeting to discuss the changes in the Gilas Pilipinas lineup to the 19th Southeast Asian Games.

It's been six months since Tenorio was diagnosed with cancer that kept him out of Ginebra's campaign in the season-ending Governors Cup.

It was just recently when he announced he had cancer, and now he is cancer-free. This is good news because when we hear the word 'cancer,' it usually implies a life-threatening condition that may only allow people to live for a few years or months, depending on how severe it is. Fortunately for LA, he is now healed and is back in basketball.

I believe he hasn't retired yet. Will he be back once the PBA resumes?
I am just happy for LA. I think that he'll be able to play again with the consent of the doctors that has helped him to recover. That was a very tough battle for him and the support that he got from everybody also helped him but of course, more than any other but with the help of Almighty God.

There's nothing we can do aside from backing out but base from the news the National will continue and will play whoever will be on their squad, I think you are right TR7 will bring hypes as he really knows how to play not just with local fans but also with international fans, with him and the beast the level of competition might be different from my personal take.

Let see what will happen. It's the rule that we needed to follow and there's nothing we can do about it if the organizer didn't allow them to play.

It has already been announced, and if I'm not mistaken, China is the host of this event. Perhaps it's their way of seeking revenge because we beat them during the FIBA Cup by a large margin. They know that Romeo is unstoppable, so they made sure he would be out. However, there's nothing to worry about because we have plenty of players who are willing to participate. Additionally, with the fact that we have a good coach now, I'm confident that we have a good chance of winning the gold.

Yeah still 37 if I'm not mistaken that being submitted that being reviewed by the organizers, I think you are right there's nothing to worry because we still have numbers of good players who can play and compete though for sure numbers of fans are excited to see both Abueva and Romeo but unfortunately it's China who's hosting and they've got the big influence to bring their sentiments after losing during the world cup.

There was so much excitement about their return to Gilas Pilipinas, and now it seems there are significant problems that have arisen. I must admit, I've lost interest in watching their games. It's challenging to find players who can bring the same level of energy to the floor as Abueva and Romeo.
Well, they've just shown the pool and many of them are interesting players as well. But it's just a different vibe and aura if it's with Terrence Romeo and Calvin Abueva. We have to admit that and that's not the same energy from the recent Gilas that we've seen. Just another sad day that we thought that we'll see them play and represent our country again.

Especially Terrence Romeo, I believed he should have been the next Jason Castro of the team, but due to injuries and possibly not being favored by Coach Chot in the past, he missed some opportunities. Their absence has dampened our excitement, and it was already extinguished when it was announced that they were ineligible.
Yeah, if it wasn't for his injuries for sure that he has participated a lot of these games and he'll always be included on it. But that really sucks for him and he's just coming back to play. They were ineligible because they're not on the list in the first place for the list of roster that's sent to the officiating bodies of China. And that's why after sending a proposal for their addition, they're denied.

We can only hope that the final squad selected will bring back some excitement to the games, so we won't be bored while watching.
I'm sure they do and we're counting on them. It's just sad that TR7 and the beast weren't included but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't cheer up the current roster.

Romeo is undoubtedly a crowd favorite on the team, so it's disappointing not to see him in the upcoming Asian Games. However, rules must be followed, and there's little we can do about it except continue supporting the team. Let's patiently await the lineup, and I'm confident this team will perform well, especially with Brownlee, who is known for elevating his teammates' performance.

Okay, so there's been a media conference a while ago made by the Gilas management and they've made sure that Terrence Romeo and Calvin Abueva were certainly out as their petition to add them to the roster wasn't granted. Also, the list of the 60 players in the Gilas pool was also released. (https://news.abs-cbn.com/sports/09/19/23/look-sbp-unveils-initial-pool-of-players-for-asiad)

I didn't read the full story, so are you saying that Calvin and Romeo are not part of the final roster? This is quite disappointing.
Yes, that's true. They're out because they're not approved by the board where the Gilas management sent a proposal for them to play. Truly a disappointing time. We're just about to see them play again through Gilas but it didn't happen.
This is the problem with the management, they are not that competitive to make this happen and for sure they didn't follow the rules that's why some of our players are not qualified to play. A very disappointing news where we about to see great players again in court, unfortunately because of our incompetent management, many players are suffering and also our team Gilas.
Can blame that on the past management or let's say the coach who sent the list of the players. Anyway, he's already out and still made a mess out of it.

Let's just continue to support though those players and the team who will represent as in this tournament.
There is nothing we can do but just to give our full support to them in every way that we can. We're all optimistic about the possible run that they will have and we want to see how the transition of the new coaching staff will impact the result of this new Gilas roster.

And base on One Sports, these are the players that are in and out.

Out:

Calvin Abueva
Terrence Romeo
Jason Perkins
Mo Tautuaa and
Roger Pogoy (health reason).

That's true; you can find YouTube videos from our very own vloggers, and the topic of discussion often revolves around these two players. It's not just about these two, but since they are the popular players, the spotlight is on them. I share your disappointment upon hearing the news. I was looking forward to seeing Romeo's last dance with Gilas, but this unfortunate development dashed our expectations.

By the way, here are the players who are out: Calvin Abueva, Terrence Romeo, Moala Tautuaa, and Jason Perkins.

Full story, https://www.manilatimes.net/2023/09/19/sports/asian-games-romeo-abueva-perkins-mo-out-in-gilas-pilipinas-lineup/1910764

Maybe they are comfortable on thier lineup for this this upcoming game and that's the reason why they out Abueva and Romeo which we all know this two players we all know how they can make a show inside the court maybe coach didn't want it happen. And also we are all know if abueva is in the floor then we can see a hype the energy he brought to the court is unique. But sad to say they  are out so all we can do for now is wait for thier game and see what will happen.

IMHO, it's better if a weak team has taken him so that he can showcase more of himself and have more playing. Well, no doubt that SMB is a good team but there are a lot of good players there already and in the same position as his. Whilst if he's been picked by a weaker team, it's more exposure and better improvement for him to be there. But as we're saying, it's better to get drafted than not.
Better than not or it's been setup like that to make it looks like that farm team don't need to breed good players it goes directly to the team that intending to have them, I mean no need to wait for 1-2 years as coach Yeng said, but in the case of Kyt he already with SMB and maybe they will start bringing him in the rotation as part of his training ground, he's with his idol TR7 and if both will play the same type of momentum that they can provide, SMB might once again will bring that excitement to the fans.

Imagine JMF, CJ showing a healthy game during the world cup, then add Mau and Manuel plus all the supporting cast. It would be a good transition from starter to bench players who can also add up good quality minutes when inside the court.
Dude, that's like a roster that's hard to beat, and as usual, they really do. As the concern goes with KYT, it's a good spot that he's with them since we can't alter or undo anymore what has happened. While it's such an inspiration for KYT to be with his idol. I am sure that he's also going to have that momentum with them. They won't take him for nothing right? and as the other teams have passed for the draft, they're for sure just going to look forward to trade some of their players in their roster for the newer ones after a year or two.
