It is a heartbreak that san miguel lose this very important game. Now TNT has solidified its momentum. They have won twice in a row against the beermen. Though they can stlll come back from this for sure.

I thought it will be an easy win to SMB when Castro was sidelined due to a bad fall, but the heart of TNT never falters. They even became more aggressive, and the defense was the one that killed smb. Kudos to Kelly, he is playing like a young gun again.

TNT win in game 5 and now a win away to claim another title in PBA.
I'm quiet disappointed on the plays of SMB tonight, it looks like they are off but the game is very close, bad for them they didn't able to take the lead again. Good to see TNT playing a good game even without their key player. SMB should do better on their next game or else, they'll miss the chance for another title. JMF should play well and the other key player of SMB, this is not the end yet. A back to back win for Chot Reyes, kudos!

Looks like TNT is winning this game, they don't have Jason Castro on the floor but their defense has improve and they are getting easy shots, especially an open outside shots. There's still a time though, if SMB can have another big run, maybe this game will go to overtime again.

I picked SMB to win by 11+ points live when I saw Castro was limping. If he really is injured, then I guess there's a chance that SMB will dominate the game. It's still too early though, the game is still close and I don't know what will happen, all I feel now is the excitement watching the game.

SMB Beermen up by two points as of this writing, oh boy what a close game. This is not good for those bettors that bet big while they have a medical condition, and could have a heart attack if they watch the game.

This is what I like about this series, hard to predict on who will win. I like SMB to win this game 5 but it is interesting to note that coach Chot has not lost yet a game in this series hehe, he might not have a stroke of good luck on his Gilas team but he might be lucky on his TNT team.

Another close game, this time TNT takes the lead in the 1st half so that +3.5 takers should be calm now. 

Let's see if SMB will be able to bounce back in the 2nd half, but I think TNT is taking control here, they  have the better ball movement compared to the SMB.

I don't think that they have no choice to find another coach, but the connections I think is the reason why they don't want him to resign. You know it already. You feel strong if you have connections.

I want Coach Chot to be replaced and others as well including Snow Badua but I think he can still do his job as a coach. He got a very good Gilas roster already. What they need now is time to train (at least 2-3 months or better if more). I saw a Facebook post hours ago and he said, "It doesn't matter if you have all-star players or not. If you don't have time to train for the upcoming World Cup, then it will affect the whole team." With this, I still believe that Coach Chot can at least do his job and what they only need is time. Overall, whatever it is, I agree that let's just support the Gilas team.

Yes, I just check the odds, its not -3.5 for SMB at 1.82, so I will take this one and hope they can bounce back and take a commanding league.

As for Gilas, we can't really compare those players before, sure we have somewhat reminisce some players, but we have a bunch now and seeing Jordan Clarkson playing together with Kai Sotto? future looks bright for us to at least get one full blooded Filipino to play in the NBA in the next coming years.

Let’s move on and see if Gilas will improve more on their next games, probably later this year.
The odds for SMB is quiet huge, I didn’t expect that since I though it will just -1.5, as usual the favorite team to win and they are so confident that SMB will take the lead again. It’s more exciting to see this kind of odds, i’ll place some bet against that odds, let’s see if TNT can really make a another good win tonight.

Castro was offered to play but he's the one to decline it. He wants to give the chance to the other young players and that showed how much respect he's got to the new players.
And that also gained him much respect from the fans, if Chot is like that. Instead of hate, he'll get much respect from the fans instead.

We already have Clarkson and Kai plus Ramos, we need now locals who can add up to this strong cores, Fajardo, Perez, Romeo (if he already recover from his injury) I've heard that Slaughter is also one of the player that coach Tim wanted to pair with Kai it's still another year of preparation, if All those Giants can be mixed together and have a good blends we do have a much deeper squad. No offense with coach Choke, but we needed to solidify our country and fans are calling for him to step down. In international coverage booing the head coach inside your homeland is something that the sports commission needed to address.

We might see adjustment again with tougher defense against the three guards of TNT who really contributed a lot from that
game 4 wins.

The Gilas I missed are the Castro, Tenorio, and Alapag lineup. It is still a dribble-drive play style but they were successful in executing it. They have plenty of time to practice that time which is why they were able to execute their play perfectly. And they have lots of shooters that they can kick the ball out to when the drive lane is not viable. The players trust each other and there is no player who dominates the ball too much. The movement of the ball is quick and precise. That lineup is exciting to watch.


Maybe the bookies are expecting SMB to come back strong after that disappointing performance in game 4. Which I think is also what would happen. SMB would not allow losing because they will be down 2-3.

Yes, because we have Kai Sotto and Clarkson already, how much more if we already have Jalen Green who is also an NBA player, this team will really improve so we need a good coach to carry it to its success.

Meanwhile, let's talk about the game tomorrow. I checked on my bookie and the line was very surprising.

SMB now is -3.5, the opposite of line in game 4. 

IMO, coaching staff is very important as we can always get good players. The current lineup that defeated the KSA is already a good roster, leaded by Clarkson, I think with better chemistry and coaching job, we could have won against Lebanon.

We actually don’t know what’s happening with them and why they are still focused to Chot Reyes, maybe it left them with no choice and beside, Chot Reyes is still good in other ways, maybe that’s the thing they saw to Reyes. Well, whoever the coach is as long as we have those good players I believe we can still deliver, they just need a good chemistry and a good playing system, that can be discussed with the other staff. Let’s continue to support Gilas and give them the respected they deserve, they have more games to come too early to celebrate.

LOL, why would they do that?

Maybe they cannot afford to pay a foreign coach, so they stick with Chot Reyes to coach the team. I think if that's the reason, then maybe at least hire the coach of Ginebra San Miguel, I believe he is way better than coach Chot Reyes, that's my personal opinion only.

SBP does want to piss the fans, in that game, people are booing chat, I hope they already see that as a sign that we don't want him coaching our strong roster. I mean, if we ever reach in the world cup, we need a level-up coach, not someone who are always criticized by the fans.

I miss the old Gilas, the Romeo and Castro lineup, they are well coached.

I'm thinking of a different reason into why Castro chose to took over the game.
He sees Williams hasn't been the Williams that they know who always shots and scores 20 points because the Beermen knew already what they will do to him to shut him down and they need somebody to step up offensively and that's why Castro took over. Pogoy was a given already but they need a second scorer that will help the team offensively.

With regards to Kelly Williams, let's take note that he already retired but Coach Chot said to come out of it and play again under him and he didn't hesitate and now he is performing a big role to his team. If you watched the whole series, you will see that Kelly and JMF are always coming in and out at the same time (maybe there was some times where it didn't happen). That's because the primary objective of Kelly is to at least lessen the efficiency of JMF. It doesn't happen all the time as JMF is still dominant but still there are times where Williams is playing very good against him and we've seen it in Game 4 or maybe Fajardo can still feel the fatigue because he played many minutes in Game 3. Anyway, commend to him as well .

We will agree that the PH are heavily favored on that game right so I think it wasn't that significant. Maybe seeing our president watching is more significant than the win . JK.

Aside from the fact that Indonesia defeated the Gilas in the SEA Games, let's also add that Japan ended the 12 year drought against us. They didn't defeat the PH for more than a decade and it ended in their last game when the PH lost. Who is the coach? Coach Chot. I just don't know why the SBP still keeping him even though Coach Chot already rendered a resignation letter to them already. Well, I just hope that a miracle will happen in the World Cup and we will have a different coach at that time. We still have a year to go to decide which coach will replace or worst, he might not get replaced.

After losing against the Lebanon some fans says that the strategy or system by coach Chot is effectively only in PBA which is as we can saw that gilas is struggling to compete other tough countries even though we have kai sotto and Jordan Clarkson but still they struggling. Maybe because of the chemistry from the coach and to the players because chot and players did not have enough time for training and build a good chemistry.

As most basketball enthusiast says, Coach Chot's system is only effective in PBA and not in the international league anymore.

Defeating KSA last night won't change the fact that we are struggling in top countries.

Being defeated by Indonesia in the South East Asian Games is already a big reason and enough for Coach Chot to consider stepping down even if SBP will ask him to continue his job as a head coach for Gilas. Enough of these learning experiences.
