Will Ginebra be able to bounce back after that big loss? I think I'm going to bet on them all the way, if they will be a slight underdog, I don't mind taking the ML line.

Yes, bouncing back is always possible. For sure, they already know what to do and won't allow Meralco to take another win or else, goodbye.

Ginebra is used in playing pressure games already. Unusual to see LA Tenorio will have a bad night for 2 consecutive games.

While they are prepared next game, Meralco Bolts are also the same as well. The series is unpredictable.

What a surprising outcome between the Ginebra and Meralco.

Actually, it's not surprising. Ginebra is a beatable team and Meralco is not that totally an underdog. Don't mind the standings.

What a surprising outcome between the Ginebra and Meralco.

Will Ginebra be able to bounce back after that big loss? I think I'm going to bet on them all the way, if they will be a slight underdog, I don't mind taking the ML line. Do we have the advance line available already?

Tenorio being scoreless, I think that will not happen. if only there's a player prop in the PBA, I would definitely put a bet.

Me as well, it is a must win for them or they will be eliminated. Meralco might have the momentum, but knowing Ginebra, they will not disappoint their fans, they will do everything to bounce back. I don't see any line yet and if there's a spare coin from my wallet, I will
put some amount for them to win, either ML or handicap. If it's considerable, I will take that risk.

Let see what adjustments they will do to prevent being eliminated and to push this series to a deciding do-or-die game.

More excitement and expect good actions from Ginebra, all in for the fans who continue believing with them.

I think Ginebra vs Meralco will be the toughest series at all games that are currently playing in the quarterfinals. These teams are forming a new rivalry and are unfortunate to see that they meet right away in the quarterfinals. Should be great if they meet at semis but no way it will happen now.
This should be a great match up and probably an opportunity for Meralco to beat Ginebra but of course this will not an easy game for them as we all know, Ginebra is still a good team and they always like a contender for the title here. Meralco should think for a better strategy, and focus more because this will be one of their hardest games in order for them to reach the top. This is a good rivalry, and the fans really like this one.

Right, so far though Ginebra still has a good chance to avert an elimination next game. Of course, this has been rivalry already and definitely wanting to get this series even in the next game.

And as what LA said, (who unfortunately, goes scoreless), it was mainly their defense. So I'm expecting that they are going to be more physical in the next game. They will have a good rest before game 2 and make the adjustment.

They are healthy, there's no reason for them not to win a game unless they were scouted well by the Meralco and have found their weakness. Ginebra is still a good team even in the All Filipino cup, having Japeth and Stand, I think they can dominate the paint.  I guess I will go under here, it should be an easy bet.

I know Meralco likes to give Ginebra its bitter loss this quarterfinal. Knowing they can still play competitively in that game despite Ginebra's good run, and even winning at the end, might fuel their much better performance next game.

Ginebra's LA Tenorio mentioned that it's all about their poor defense that contributes mainly to their loss and Meralco takes advantage of it. It makes sense to point it out as there's not much big problem if we look at their point stats, at least for the entire starters. He also mentioned that if the series is a back-to-back game they might lose another game but since there is a several days before their next game, they can think of a good strategy and point out what are those wrong things they did in that game.

They really need to think of a strategy to bounce back because that was a bad loss by the Ginebra. It's okay if it was close but what we are seeing is that Ginebra looks like the DYIP who can easily be dominated by a better team. Where's the never say die attitude, do you think they can still come back and win?

Having a 1-win lead against one of the favorites in the league, Ginebra should be a big advantage for Meralco. An upset is also possible to happen.

In that game, some of Ginebra's main players and starters do have a good contributions but still lose to Meralco.

Meralco always wants revenge on Ginebra as they can't defeat this team in an import conference. Now that it's between the All-Filipino lineup, their chances of winning are likely in this series and put Ginebra on Boracay. Waiting for their next game.

Other series matches are almost predictable and it's like overkill although upsets are always bound to happen even at a slim chance.

Guess what, what if we will see on the news that BlackWater beats the top seed SMB here in the quarterfinals. Beating SMB twice is a tough job but who knows.

Is anyone here thinking of betting on Ginebra now?

They are down double digit and the odds are very attractive, what do you think?
I believe Ginebra is a strong team, they can come back even with a huge deficit and they are good in the 2nd half.

Have bet for Ginebra before the game started and as I have said in my post on our local board that this is a very risky bet as Meralco is a strong team and this is a conference where they don't have a Justine Brownlee that could score for them if they badly needed one, no go-to-guy.

A lot of time remaining and hope they will recover and win the first game of the series.

You are right, things are even getting worse, there's no way Ginebra can still come back in this game with less than 5 minutes left in the game only. Meralco having an 18 points lead, will certainly take this game. Congrats to the Meralco bettors, this is your night.  Smiley

Meralco take all the advantage and they did not give any hope for Ginebra to bounce back, it's really a dominant game for Meralco in each quarter they take the good lead and maintain it, there's nothing that Ginebra did that Meralco didn't counter. The attempt of rallying back is not for Ginebra, Meralco take this game 1 and we will expect a more exciting game between these two rivals.

Congrats Meralco supporters, a good win for you all.

Still down double-digit, but there's still plenty of time and Ginebra is a never say die team so let's trust that they'll be able to make it a close game and good if they'll win there. Thompson is really doing his best here, hopefully, he will get big support in the 4th quarter, still possible for the Ginebra to win.

That's the big difference between the NBA and the PBA, and it's actually not just the Warriors system it's because of Curry's greatness. Take curry out from that team and for sure they'll not be the same Warriors even though the system is still there.
They're good and lucky that most teams last season weren't that great. But this year, many are great teams and I remember a lot of seasons with Curry and star players still Warriors didn't end well for those past seasons. But they've proven a lot already and although this comparison is totally off and far away from both teams and leagues, we understand that it can be just an inspiration and there's a lot actually to improve for them.

That's right,  Ginebra was able to give Fajardo a problem before because Greg was still playing with them, now he is gone, it will only be Japeth and C Stand that will have to stop Fajardo which I don't think they can. During their dominance, they have lots of experience players, so let's see with the younger ones if they can still repeat their past success.

The key is to not just stop Fajardo but rather teams have to do their best to fully utilized their offense.

Although PBA teams can't be compared to NBA teams, I just like to give a good example related to this. Golden State Warriors is a great example of a team that had poor defense before. Since they are always being dominated inside whether it's offense or defense, they think of a way how to solve that problem without thinking about how to defend purely those giants. What did they do? They utilized their outside shooting so that no need to force themselves to get points on the paint. They changed the NBA with those continuous rainbow shots.

However, there are no PBA teams or players who are closed on doing that currently (I miss Ren-Ren Ritualo's 9 or 10 3-points streak before) that's why they need to find a solution on how to deal with SMB once they faced this team.

Yeah, because without Stephen Curry, the Warriors would not reach to the playoffs, and also, Curry alone cannot make this team a championship team, remember when they missed Thompson due to injury? They missed the playoffs that time.

By the way, Magnolia with another big win, beat the NLEX 98-89.

That's why I'm backing them to win in this conference, though all Filipino cup are usually dominated by SMB and Fajardo is obviously back, but I like the teamwork of Magnolia. Abueva was added and some role players, so they are getting better and better.

I also hoped that SMB's dominance in All-Filipino Cup will be stopped at the Finals at this conference. But hard to think that way since JuneMar Fajardo is playing again like he was in his prime. In an instant just after the long recovery of his injury, he is putting close to an average of 20PPG and 10RBG which is a threat to any team in the All-Filipino lineup.

I don't see any players that can stop Fajardo at 1-on-1 that's why teams need to form a plan on how to beat these SMB guys without focusing too much on limiting Fajardo's offense and defense. There are other SMB calibers that need to focus on

That's right,  Ginebra was able to give Fajardo a problem before because Greg was still playing with them, now he is gone, it will only be Japeth and C Stand that will have to stop Fajardo which I don't think they can. In that case, it will be a coach and the system that matters, both SMB franchise have their own advantages, we can say that Fajardo might be the big difference, and with the solid squad who also helping him in terms of offense and defense it will be a big challenge not only with the Gin kings but to all the teams that will be playing in the next round.

SMB and MVP both are the known common teams that will possibly meet again in the finals. Still have many games to enjoy
betting with your favorite might bring a decent amount of profit!
