Well, 45 years already as of now, it's a long year of existence, so I don't think PBA will stop their league to give way to the new league like the MPBL.
The partnership, hopefully, will strengthen the league, I don't know the reason behind but hoping it's for the better.

Same here, I didn't know when did PBA had started its 1st games. I just got the knowledge about when exactly because I'm also quite sure that they didn't reached their 50th year yet since it was found on 1975. As of this year, they are yet to celebrate their 47th because 2025 will the mark of their golden year.
Such a long year and its roots are so deep that's why this league won't just be severed in a week nor a month. We will see this upcoming month if they will succeed on their new deal, I'm also optimistic about it.

We do have same perception with Gin Kings. They need the win and they need to take it seriously. That handicap is not hard to cover
if Gin kings will play solid.

Currently at the bottom 8 is the NorthPort but lets take note as well that they 2 wins that they got came from the top 2 teams currently.
They can really be the dark horse of the league this conference and with how they are playing, I think that they can still enter the playoffs and upset teams that they will face during that time.

Still I thought that Blackwater is the one who will give the first defeat for the Magnolia :|.

They really have to do everything to get in for the next round, hoping that its not too late for them. Maybe their losses is just because of lack of training and team bonding maybe, but NP now is getting better and playing their hearts out.

I’m expecting top teams to beat Magnolia, well the result is different and now the conference becomes more interesting. Let’s see if NP can sustain this momentum.

Agree to that, they are threat and if they will stay and move to the next round upsetting top team is not impossible to them, if NP if continue playing like this and win every game that left for them, we might see a dark horse that will compete to any super team inside the league, too early though but it's really exciting as they managed to hold and win this game even Magnolia really rallies back and tried harder to snatch this game from them. This new import of NorthPort seems to have lots of stamina and endurance coming into his debut game.
This is just his first game and he played all 48 minutes and scored 42 points and almost a triple double. Its just amazing to see a player to play all 48 minutes (at least for me since we don't often see players playing the whole game).

Well in the case of Arwind, they need to find younger players to let SMB stay at the top and they also think that Arwind isn't helping that team anymore. Its hard since he is a big help to the team but they are thinking more about the future of the team that is why him and Cabagnot got traded. On the other hand though, looks like he is a perfect fit for the NP at least and he played 40+ minutes tonight.

I don't think that those other basketball league is a threat to the PBA because the latter has a strong foundation of its existence financially. We have seen other leagues before and they say they are a threat to PBA but they just can't sustain their existence due to the fact that running a basketball league is so costly.

MPBL and especially FilBasket still have a long journey to catch before they can even say that these new pro leagues will be a threat to the PBA. I mean, these new pro leagues are just founded recently compared to the roots of PBA that will celebrate its 50th and golden year since it was founded this coming 2025. We will see if they can keep up for at least a decade.

This is the reason why other teams aren't that competitive anymore.
This is the cycle that has been going for a long time:
1. Weaker teams will get a very good player at the draft that will help them with their run.
2. When big companies such as SMC and MVP sees that this player has a good potential, they will get him and trade weaker players or a future draft picks.
3. Repeat the first and second.

This is the reason why other teams aren't competitive anymore. Big companies are offering them higher salary just to play with their team. Weaker teams are getting good players (mostly thru draft) but the problem is this big companies are just milking them and they are getting their star players. One of the many examples is the famous CJ Perez trade. I'm an SMB fan but that trade isn't fair and we know all of that. More of this kind of trades will happen in the future especially now that there is free agency and as long as this happens, the competitiveness of other teams will slowly decrease because they know that they don't have good players to compete against this better teams.

I will only believe that PBA is now on the verge of being unpopular if it will come from those veteran users here that really follow the PBA "in actual" and not just watching one single game every week or just being aware of the few players.

That plan is just a product of disappointment since the Blackwater CEO's ego was hit by the PBA since they think they won't have a violation for doing practice while it's not allowed during pandemic.
