CJ is always ready, when Romeo was injured, he help the team a lot while the respect for his teammates is still there, he doesn't think that he is a superstar, instead, he remains humble having in mind that he can learn more from the veterans who already made championship together. The recipe of success of the SMB is not their individual talents, it's their chemistry that a player is willing to contribute to make everyone better.
Respect means a lot in developing your skills. Romeo is the best example of it. We know him way back with Northport as the leading scorer, but when he got traded, he learned how to pay respect to the stars that he's going to play with.Castro was injured when he joined TNT and giving him enough minutes he contributes well, and so with SMB, he waited till coach ask him to take charge, and look at him now, he developed a lot, with the help of Santos and Cabagnot he find good chemistry.
CJ is one of the best assets inside this league. SMB knows how to value him. We will see more for sure. This star still has a lot to offer.
Being humble and always thinking that you can learn more from other players, be it stars or other players is a huge morality which both helps inside and outside the court and CJ has this trait. This one trait makes me a big fan of his play. I love players who dominate the court and be so polite outside the pitch. Love that guy. If CJ keeps performing like this, he will go a long way in his career.

Could we see a repeat in history? I have read an article that number one seed Mobiline (now TNT) was booted out by number eight seed Ginebra in a thrilling game, of course, the personnel from that time were different from now but the spirit never leaves the Gin Kings
.Kidding aside, this is a big upset if ever Gin Kings win considering the chemistry is still not there but still, I will bet for them but not ML, I will take the spread as +7.5 is too high in this kind of game.

They have Romeo who is very consistent (might make more when he comes back from injury), and now they also have Cabagnot who just returned from injury, this SMB is a scary team, they are undoubtedly the best team now.
On paper, they are the best team in the PBA right now and all the pieces in the puzzle have taken their place just right on time before the semis begin. Terrence Romeo will be entering the bubble and he will be a big help on their quest for the championship this season. CJ Perez will just be a backup in case one of the starters would be having an off night, he should be used to it as not all the time that his scoring is needed.

Exactly, Ginebra will never win a championship this time without Japeth and Thompson, these two are the most consistent when it comes to defense and they are not here to protect the shooters of the TNT guards. Castro, William, and Pogoy will continue to attack them as they know the Gins lacks defense so it's easier for the TNT to crack them down.

I'm confident that the TNT is too much for an undermanned Ginebra Kings. I remember that Kings lost by double-digit prior to their win against the Phoenix Fuelmasters, so I think we will again see them struggle in this game that the TNT has a lot of scorers and their defense has also improved.

Can't guarantee that because even the biggest league like the NBA, there are still some rumors that games are rigged although nothing has been proven yet. If NBA can be rigged, then PBA is not an exemption as it's definitely a small league that is controlled by the rich team owners. If it's the management like the sister teams that are giving wins to each other, that's the politics that's turning into a throw/rigged game which is really happening.
Sooner or later, that issue will be forgotten. PBA teams are known to have a deal with each other, especially within sister teams. That was something it can't be public. But no teams will be honest about that since that will damage the reputation of PBA which in return, no viewers will now watch and follow the league. Only speculations of bigayan is what we always read and just speculation.
Well, I guess the management is good to just let this issue die and let the player be at peace. But if there's an intervention with higher-ups and wants to remove his license to play in PBA then there's nothing he can do with that.
Hard to consider betting now on favorites handicap. Lowered teams are now unpredictable. I also one of the bettors who choose that handicap for SMB.
Yeah, it indeed difficult to assure yourself betting with the favorites. We witnessed lots of upset coming from the previous games where underdog managed to win and blown every bet with small odd ML.

SMB has a thrilling win and I like the Northport to bounce back in game 2, probably we will see Romeo back and that's good for the SMB as that will make them 100% complete.

For sure there are many SMB fans who are silently reading who got blew with that handicap, PBA is getting intense seeing teams who disappoint favorite and it almost happened with SMB, luckily that the savior comes back with strong will to win.

It's surely him but for his career sake, everyone who gets caught will still deny it. I've seen the post of that random guy, the original guy that this player has dealt with their throw game. But sadly, the original guy lost and he's exposed. The number of gcash is his and how can you deny that with a picture sent. De Guzman will just deny all of the allegations even if it's already caught in the act, well, the league doesn't need a guy like this. Fixing games has to be one of the disgusting things a person can do. I don't know if he has fixed the match or not, but if he has, he should be getting the punishment. I think if he is proven guilty, he should be banned for life, this will create an example for others about the consequences of match-fixing. But I really hope that he hasn't fixed the match and the allegations are false.
The problem with this player, according to all those social media posts, the people who got wreck are people who close to him, for sure he can't deny this allegation if PBA will dig deeper names will be dropped. The people behind this will surely do collateral damage.
Sad for this young rookie, he will be ending up nothing, permanent ban is waiving for him.
