Does anyone notice NP has become a good team now?

The arrival of Greg really made this team a dangerous team, we are not seeing that this team has a lot of shooters and they are willing to do that since they have a big man that they can rely on. Also, Malonzo is a good addition as well, in the last win, he scored 17 points, so the offense are now spread as it will not only be Bollick who will have to work harder, he also has Malonzo who can help him.
North Port is a good team if you will just focus on their roster but at this time, they are on the 8th spot. Not on the safest spot if you will ask me.
They have good players like Bollick, Anthony, Malonzo the rookie and Slaughter but it will take time for them to build the chemistry.

I still remember what Norman Black said about NorthPort. LINK
Quote
It’s hard. Mahirap talaga,” said Black during a recent SPIN Zoom In episode. “Even if you think ang Meralco team, mas magaling na, the other teams, mas magaling din. Even NorthPort, I’m sure coach Pido is trying to put everything together now
I also believe that NorthPort will have a good run and they are a good team right now. The problem is the chemistry of the team but it will build up as they will play.

It's not every day that you can have a 7-footer in your team in the PBA so the arrival of Slaughter brings ceiling to the Batang Pier which also has a talented point guard in Robert Bolick. Greg may not fit very well on the run and gun system of Ginebra but here in NorthPort, the system would adjust for him.

Won my bet on the SMB-Ginebra game, TR7 saves the day for the Beermen as he took over the game in the last two minutes. With the way he is playing right now, i think we may see him soon in the injured list (hope i'm wrong).

They are better this year, however, I think they need to prove more that they are a good contender in the championship.
NP standing now is 2-3, they might play the elimination game and they will be a tough team to beat as NP had some close games against the best teams in the PBA.
hopefully we will see different teams that will play in the PBA Finals this season, and hopefully NP will once again enter in the playoffs, Anthony, Bollick and Greg should all be healthy so they'll have a chance.

No doubt about that, any team that will have a big man like Greg will certainly improve, and coach Pido was able to use Greg properly as his stats have improved playing with the NP.
Coach Pido is effectively using Greg at this point, you can see the contribution and the improvement of the team.
Compared to C. Stand as their big man, NP is a much more improved team now, while the Brgy Ginebra is now struggling with the current roster.

They are playing agains the SMB now, and looks like SMB will win this game as they have a comfortable lead already in the 4th quarter.

Another loss by Magnolia.

Wow, they had a great start but they are struggling when they come back.
ROS is really unpredictable, sometimes they lose big time and now they beat a good team.
This team should not be underestimated as they could upset any team at the top.

Mocon was their top scorer with 19 points, I hope he will be more aggressive as his buddy Nambatac seems to be struggling until now.

Andreas Cahilig got injured early. He hurt his ankle in 2021 PBA Philippine Cup tussle with Phoenix Cry. According to an initial assessment he might have a fracture in his left ankle. But even with his broken ankle he came in to shoot free throw and made both counts. Even when he got hurt he tried to go to the bench with the help of his teammate but seemed to struggle. After his free throw, he was subbed shortly after. I hope he recovers soon.

That's the spirit of a warrior, but surely he will be out for a while as fracture normally requires an operation, Cahilig is a decent player, he contributes well to the team and there's no need to rush him since he is still young and he has a lot to offer to the team.

Push till you manage to overcome those defenders, tagging him as a point person is a great challenge to develop his skills and also a good
motivation for him.
Maybe he already pushed his limit, and it's time for the entire team to support him, don't expect from him that he will score 20 points as he does not have the skills of CJ Perez and Terrence Romeo.

DYIP needs to win to continue their chance to move to the next round.
They need to adjust now that Tiongson will only be limited since the defense was focused on him, as you guys said, he is already a marked man and he will not surely achieve what he scored during the first 2 wins of DYIP this season. Good to the DYIP, looks like they are now challenge after winning 3 straight wins, I hope they'll recover and start winning again.
No choice, they already see how the scoring of Tiongson change in the last 2 games, there's a sense of urgency already if they want to continue winning. What they showed against the Blackwater is very impressive, there was a balance of scoring, hopefully they can continue to carry that out so the burden of Tiongson will be lessened.

A balance in scoring department would help them to win another game, they need to figure out to find the open man. The way they show up against Blackwater is the very example that with dedication, each player can really contribute.

Tiongson also needs to face this and excel. He is already showcasing his talent. He just need to continue trying and not to shy out when off-night is happening to him.

Push till you manage to overcome those defenders, tagging him as a point person is a great challenge to develop his skills and also a good
motivation for him.

DYIP fan here. Not the best of match I expected. I was so wanting this huge run to continue but it is what it is. The players did well but there is always room for perfection. Let's just focus on the next match and hope the coach and players will be able to find out what went wrong.

What I notice is Tiongson is not consistent anymore, he got checked in already as in the last two games, he did not score double digit anymore IIRC.

This is normal because Tiongson, after that high scoring game of him is already a marked man, meaning he will be depended well and it is up to his teammates to step up for them to continue winning but as you have said, they are not consistent on winning games so a lose is kinda expected.

I'm 2-0 for today, not bad  Grin.

First congrats for winning both of your picks, that's really sweet as you anticipate things correctly!

in regard to Tiongson, you are right he's already been marked by every team after that good game against SMB
and BGSM as he managed to lift the team high by contributing enough to snatch the game away from the two favorites.

DYIP needs to win to continue their chance to move to the next round.

Quote
We have an interesting game tomorrow between SMB and Ginebra with the former as the favorite to win but i;m still rooting for them to bag the win for this game tomorrow.

SMB -2.5 @1.93, my lone pick for tomorrow.

I'll watch this up and try to bet during the live game, both teams are explosives, very tough to pick right away.

Good luck though!

DYIP hot run is finally over,  Smiley
Phoenix Fuelmasters defeated the DYIP by 12 points, the score is 96-84.\
Perkins finally exploded with 28 big points while Manuel added 18 points, seeing this 2 big man contributing with good numbers of the team, it will make them a better team not fully relying on Mathew Wright.
Congrats to the winners
They are due for a loss, if they can't bounce back from that loss, then we can conclude that their 3 win streak are all lucky wins, especially the win against the BGSM and SMB. I was not able to watch the game live but based on the box score, Tiongson only scored 8 points from 2-10 shooting, probably the defense is focused on him.
They can't keep up the winning streak for so long because they are not the best team in the league, Phoenix needs a win and they have a good win against the hottest team. What's important is DYIP still has a chance to play in the elimination if they will win the next games. No team is perfect at the moment, so we can't expect a team that is in the bottom will just continue to win, the law of average is happening here.

You know, this run had to come to an end and it happened against SPF, and kudos to SPF and specifically Manuel and Perkins. They have proved that their team is on a one-man army, and relying on one player is not always good for a team in the long run. Perkins and Manuel stepping up is a good sign for them.

They are now tied with Phoenix Fuelmasters, with 3-5 record, who would have thought that DYIP will have a better record than the Alaska Aces who are next to the bottom with 2-4 record. Next game of DYIP is this coming Saturday against Northport, let's see if they'll prove us wrong with our belief that the last 3 wins were just due to luck.

Nice game by the SMB, they beat the TNT by dominating them.
Here are the top scorers of the game. https://pba.ph/recap?match=1902617
* Lassiter - 19 points
* Romeo - 16 points
* Tautua - 13 points
* Perez - 13 points
JFM, not double-digit in scoring but he made 17 rebounds (5 of that are offensive rebounds)
He doesn't need to make a double-digit, we know he is capable, and in this game that's their strategy. He just dominated the inside with his rebounding ability, and the TNT which was the best team in the conference has already tasted a loss for the first time.
I agree, JMF doesn't have to force himself to score double-digit points as of this time because a lot of his teammates are offensive machines. Grabbing 17 17 rebounds is not a thing that a player would do every night even if you are the tallest player so that's already a big help already for the team.
Meanwhile, the hottest team Dyip will be playing against Phoenix and the odds are almost even but I have to bet for the latter here because Dyip, as i've said before, is not yet consistent on winning games.

Yes, against offensive teams like SMB, you have to score. Otherwise, you cannot contain them for the whole match. And JFM did quite well in my opinion. Even if he did not score tons, having that many rebounds are impressive - especially having 5 offensive rebounds helps the team, though in a passive way - but still helps the team quite a lot.
