Kiefer Ravena gets PBA nod to play in Japan B.League
Ravena has been allowed to play with Lakestars for a year and then return to the PBA and suit up for NLEX anew.

What an offer. Allowed to play overseas, being paid there, then still have a team in the PBA once he returns. However, that will limit Ravena to continue playing overseas after a year. If the goal is to really leave PBA then switch careers abroad, it's best for me to just finish everything in PBA so he can continue with the Lakestar for more years. But prior to that, the contract should be multi-season so the next following years are secured.

Anyways, the deal was now finalized and that is, Ravena was only allowed to play for 1 season with the Lakestars. This just proved that everything can be settled properly if there are official negotiations.

I'm just wondering when this will be starting? After the current PBA All-Filipino Cup?

Cool deal for Ravena, as time passed by many Japan teams will seek for more players overseas,
in case he won't be suited to the team that he will play then he still got the NLEX to catch him and let him play again inside PBA.

What I'm curious with is the 1 season deal which you already explained that it will limits him to extend his stay, what if the team see he's good future.
the same thing that happened with his younger brother?

Should he give up his PBA career and take all the responsibilities if ever PBA / NLEX ask for him to comeback?

Finally, Ray Parks issue is over, he has a go signal from TNT to play with Japan's B league.

PBA not standing in Parks way to Japan after TNT go-signal

I'm thinking, how about Kiefer Ravena? We have a lot of Filipino players playing with Japan's league for a better salary, hopefully, Kiefer will not feel like a prisoner and the PBA is just hindering his dream.
Well, just hours ago after you posted this Commissioner Marcial and the owner of NLEX Road Warriors decided to let Ravena play into the Shiga Lakestars in the Japan B-League. This is the caption in one of the reliable sources on Facebook.

Quote
BREAKING: NLEX team official Ronald Dulatre: PBA allows Kiefer Ravena to play in the Japan B. League for 1 season.  | via ESPN5's Philip Matel

Marcial: PBA has also allowed Ray Parks Jr to play in the Japan B.League.

This is my theory but I think that the management didn't see Ravena's willingness to play into the PBA and he really wants to play outside PH (particularly in Japan) that is why they decided to let him play. Its only for one season but I think giving him some experience to play in other league outside our country would be beneficial for him and our league as a whole. Now that Ravena will be playing on Japan, I wonder if the Japan B-League decided to sign Ray Parks too since he isn't have any contract now Cheesy.

I'm wondering why Phoenix is the underdog here.

Maybe based on recent performance. They lose by 36 points, one of the worst performances in the league, in their last game against a team that is considered on the same level. Alaska on the other hand, only loses 2 points against a top team, Magnolia on which also beaten the Phoenix on the 2nd day of the PBA.

If only Abueva is there, which is now traded to Magnolia, maybe they will be the favorites even in a losing streak.

Time to move on for tomorrow's games.

At 2:00 PM, we have Meralco Bolts against ROS  (+4.5)
At 4:35 PM, we have Alaska Aces vs Phoenix LPG. (+3.5)

I'm wondering why Phoenix is the underdog here.

Both ROS and Phoenix are underdogs in these matches but IMO, either one of them or both of them could upset their opponents.

Though ROS doesn't have its usual go-to guy but with their young guns, they could defeat the Bolts since everything now in the PBA is unstable.

Phoenix is put in the underdog status may be because of their last game where they were blown out by NorthPort if my memory serves me right.

Therefore my bets for today:

ROS ML @2.57
Phoenix ML @2.15

No mistakes this time as I double-check my bets, but not going against SMB from now on.  Grin

Kiefer Ravena is under several contracts and there are things that are not settled properly then out of nowhere he was signed overseas. It's unprofessional.

PBA didn't get in his way. He just needs to finish his business in the PBA and the floor is always open for him to play overseas. If Ravena is able to comply with all things that need should be done before getting a Go Signal and PBA get in his way, that's the time we can conclude that PBA is sh*t regarding those matters.

I agree to that! Kiefer is under contract while Parks already been let go by his mother team there's no obligation for him to settle that's why he can go and signed the contract that being offered by Japan's league franchise.

As long as Kiefer complete or settled those issues he's free to go, though for now we seen him playing for his mother team and he's still
working hard for the team.

If after this contract inside PBA and the team outside still interested to sign him, he can go and fly without any problem.

Time to move on for tomorrow's games.

At 2:00 PM, we have Meralco Bolts against ROS  (+4.5)
I'm betting on the Rain or shine here, though Meralco had already won twice in a row but I think ROS is also a dangerous team due to their good defence.
betting on the spread and moneyline.
Thanks for your advice, I think I will follow it as rain or shine is not a bad team and 4.5 handicap is so high for a good team.
Rain or shine won the opening day by beating the NLEX, so I will not doubt they can win against the Meralco Bolts.

At 4:35 PM, we have Alaska Aces vs Phoenix LPG. (+3.5)

I'm wondering why Phoenix is the underdog here.

This one I'm not sure too, maybe I'll watch the game first and just put my bet through live betting.
If Wright is out, then no way I will bet on the Phoenix.

There's no news about Phoenix, maybe it's just th right line.
I search some news here https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba?ref=nav_link.. but I could not find anything related.

If I have some spare, I'll be great to place some for Phoenix handicap, might still in the adjustment but they are unpredictable once the players start to jive in.

I'll consider this too.

Good idea, as it can just turned things out or something like a trap from the bookies, knowing that Phoenix is not that bad compared to Aces, though chances that injuries from good role players not sure yet as there's no info.

Romeo did not play, maybe he is still resting to heal that injury he suffered in the first game. I think I will watch the highlights because I love that SMB has won the game, also, Fajardo seems to be slowly getting back on his grove, he played 24 minutes made 14 points and 10 rebounds, that's a good start.

Fajardo set the tone and Tautua finish what Junemar have started and dominated the NLEX Road Warriors. I never expected that from Fajardo since he was sloppy in their first game. This is bad news for other teams that Fajardo starting to find his rhythm, few more games, and the Kraken will be unleashed hehe.

^^ that was a mistake on my part as on my mind I would be betting for NLEX but just surprised to see my ticket have won lol. Must be a sign on not to go against the Beermen from hereon.

Congrats man, that mistake give you a good win tonight. SMB now seemed to be fully intact again, they are so confident as they have their best player back in the game. NLEX had a good start but they just dominated by the SMB in this game, this is a message for other teams that the king is back.

Hehehe, if all the mistake will be that way I wanted to keep making mind.. Grin

Good to see also that CJ Perez is bringing his offensive contributions knowing him as top scorer plus JMF's good rhythm this is what SMB wanted to
bring inside the table, with this kind of performances coming from all the players who played the game, we are seeing the dominance.

Congrats to all those who bet for SMB and BGSM handicap being covered..

Yes, the spread was covered, if someone here made a parlay of the bet, then he should have a good night as both teams had an easy win.

Guys don't overreact with that recent win of BGSM.

I'm not degrading Blackwater as a team but it should be expected that BGSM can handle them. The gap is very large in terms of the roster list.

Blackwater was even able to make a rally and cut the lead down to 2 entering the 4Q. I'm more impressed with that despited lack of good role players against the monsters of BGSM.

Right, Blackwater is a bad team, so we can expect that the BGSM will beat them easily, especially they are coming from a big loss. In the 2nd game, SMB had dominated the NLEX road warriors, I think it's a good win for them. Perez leads the SMB with 21 big points, while they also have 5 players with double digit scores.

Ginebra won the first game, they bounce back from their first game loss.

They won by 14 points and that's good as they also covered the point spread which is -12.5

All the starting 5 of Ginebra had double-digit points, they seemed to share the ball pretty well.

Tenorio 17
Thompson 11
Pringle 19
Aguilar 14
Standhardinger 11

That was a statement that they are really a good team.

Standhardinger and Aguilar should be both healthy so they'll dominate inside, and this lineup is a very defensive line up so I still like their chances of winning the PBA championship this season. The new addition is only Standhardinger but we know he can blend pretty well to any team as he has played a lot of teams already and with good experience.

So early to tell about winning a championship but its really a good decision to get Standhardingers on their line up since as you said they are perfect blend on defensive side if the coaching staff will know how to use this guy's and create good chemistry together then provably wen see this team go to finals. I also said it's early to say about them winning the champ since SMB super team still intact and other teams have a good roosters this season.

Agree with that, C. Stand though shorter than Greg, he is more talented and has an IQ in the court, so it's a great decision by the Ginebra to acquire him and Ginebra had already proven that they can win the championship without Greg.

The current line up of Ginebra is pretty good than the older season. Stanley Pringle, LA Tenorio and Christian Standhardinger the big 3 of the team  has a good teamwork lead by coach Tim. Ginebra has a potential of winning as of their gameplay they prove that they can win.

Not only this game or the coming game, I think they'll be a big favorite to win the championship.
