Of course, PBA players are more talented as they are paid bigger, some PBA got a contract in the MPBL because they are not signed again in the PBA.
I think it is the right way to say that a talented players will more likely to get higher pay than those that are not. Usually this is why some good players trained hard to get higher pay. Some are to become a superstar in basketball and others think that it is their passion and had been love doing it.  Well I am a little bit happy that PBA now has made some good news in the upcoming events in regards to PBA.

Having this kind of platform is a good thing because if not selected in one of them gives chance to show the talent and skill when selected in MPBL. This helps them to continue to work hard in order so that in future they can be selected by PBA. The motivation still exists because the final target for them must be among the best and perform the best and automatically money will follow them.

Maybe I should also create a thread for MPBL? Looks like we have a lot of fans here, however, I am not seeing MPBL betting odds in sportsbet and other sportsbook that I am actively using, so I think it wouldn't be interesting following the game if we are not betting on it.

If I'm not mistaken Sen. Manny won't allow it, He's against this that's why he left PBA knowing the mafias who's working behind the league.
Though there's nothing being proven until now, but the rumors is just around, MPBL commissioners and owners are very strict regarding to
sports betting.

PBA is better because it is more popular than its rival which is the MPBL but it doesn't mean that the players in PBA are better than the players in MPBL. There are skillful players in MPBL that can compare or even exceed to the start of the PBA. I'm sure the commissioner of the MPBL will make a move in these months in order for them to have now to air in different TV channel.

Let's make it clear that MPBL is not a rival of the PBA. IMO, MPBL is a league that compliment the PBA and giving opportunities to some players that did not make it to the PBA and to some players, extended their careers because they played in the MPBL after playing in the PBA.
MPBL is just an alternative, and they actually cooperate to bring the standards in the game.
Like this news - they are together in fighting game fixing in the Philippine basketball sports, which we sometimes here that PBA is FIX.

No offense to MPBL players but i think so far i don't see any MPBL players more talented than any star players in the PBA.

They don't need to do that, they are already popular and there's no local league that are close to compete with the PBA.

More now that their rival MPBL is still looking for a channel to air their league, and even if MPBL will find a new home, PBA is still the better league as it's the biggest in the Philippines. I just hope they'll be back to normal that they can resume so people will stop thinking weird and they will not be affected by the covid-19 depression or something that could affect their way of thinking.

Let's hope and pray that we can surpass this, the economy of the Philippines needs to recover soon.

It's not a threat as rival, since MPBL is still young and the popularities of this league can't be compared to PBA.
Maybe, but we never know in the long run, this is owned by one of the richest in the Philippines and the set up is really good, just like the NBA where teams travel. And to my knowledge, there are already a lot of PBA players playing for the league, even the celebrities, I guess.

I just hope they'll be back to normal that they can resume so people will stop thinking weird and they will not be affected by the covid-19 depression or something that could affect their way of thinking.
Fans are really excited PBA adds up enjoyment especially when you are watching your favorite team competing with their favorite rivals.
I am more of a PBA fan, but I just noticed the MPBL recently.

Officially, ABS SPORTS is now out,

ABS-CBN Sports signs off as network begins retrenching staff

I am wondering if what Channel will air the MPBL, but it's not important, maybe they can find one as sports now are still currently halted, the first to resume could be the PBA as they are on track already, although practice are still delayed as they are awaiting for the guidelines from IATF.

Many pangilinan is I think a closed friend of pacquiao so i think there will be a negotiation will happen between them in future and also remember Mpbl is quite a big business and the owner got a name so for sure seeking a station for them to air will be no problem for them. The only issue by now is on when they will resume and how they execute the operation in lined with health and safety protocol by the IATF.

Of course, this is for all of us, when the economy sinks, people will suffer, and no use for entertainment if people can't even afford to buy the basic needs.

Yeah, but the management can deal with this in more private conversations, they don't need to make things more complicated. It's understandable that they also got offended by the team owner's statement, but better to act professionally.

I don't see where's the "complicated part" just because PBA is giving info to the media. I also don't see how it became unprofessional.

Obviously, there are things that's not publicly told. If you read the content, it's fine mate. PBA should always update the community about what's happening inside. Of course, not all information should be leaked and reading all news and articles related to the issue, there is no sensitive info yet based on my understanding.

I just hope they'll be back to normal that they can resume so people will stop thinking weird and they will not be affected by the COVID-19 depression or something that could affect their way of thinking.

It's cleared that BlackWater resumes practice meaning they are preparing for the league's comeback. That selling issue what I have mentioned is more of personal reason and other reasons that popped out in the news is more of a reason that just thinks now.*

It was the owner of the Blackwater Elite who started first, he got offended by the sanction, and he issue a statement that could be detrimental to the league's reputation, now the management is just doing the same because they also got offended by the statement.

Yeah, but the management can deal with this in more private conversations, they don't need to make things more complicated. It's understandable that they also got offended by the team owner's statement, but better to act professionally.

I believe what they did is very professional already, they got insulted by a public statement so they are just responding to it.
This is normal in sports organization, when you say something detrimental to the organization, they will penalized you, no exemption to that, even the big teams in the league. I understand your point, but I think the statement is just something that they can't tolerate without a penalty or sanction.

Just recently, Tab Baldwin issued a statement that the league were insulted, so there were consequences, so it happened the same thing here although the statement were different but they are looking at the intent and the effect to the organization as a whole.
Same here, Coach Tab already received the sanction and even it's not a direct link why he's been removed from Batang Texters coaching staff.

Or maybe just a work for more exposures and publicity while the leagues is on it's way to resumes, just saying..

Looks like another sanction incoming for the Blackwater Elite owner as the PBA board takes offense on his statement about selling his team.

League chair Ricky Vargas said in an interview on Thursday that Sy’s comments have serious repercussions. And though him allowing his team to practice last week was an “operational matter that the Office of the Commissioner will deal with,” threatening to sell his franchise will not be taken lightly by the board.

This is the consequences of issuing a statement without thinking first or there is a burst of emotion. I think the owner takes it too personal and it's just right that the board will reprimand him for his action but i think they should not leak this out to the media so that it will not be blown out of proportion.

I think everything now is in media, they are doing this to make sure other team owners will be aware  that this kind of action or statement will not be tolerated in the PBA, at this point, based on the updates I read about  PBA, it looks like there's more news on the sanction to a specific person or a group  who violated the rules than the timeline the PBA will return, it's like more bad news are being published while the hype of the PBA return was set aside.

If this continue this might affect the continuation of the games. Is this year really that terrible? Everybody is hyped on the continuation since more people might watch these games right now since a tv station is closed now. More men will be having their TV by themselves watching PBA games.

Yes of course, my family used to watch shows from ABS-CBN, now that they are closed, I'm pretty sure I have no one to complain about my channel.

I am excited to see how the PBA would play in a possible no crowd arena, betting is really my intention though, so I can't wait.  Grin

This should be taking inside the room and try to talk it over, media will only create more buzz about this topic they need to act professionally now.
The league is in it's way resuming back this kind of publicity might work but there's also negative implications if the management ain't do the right
venue for this issue.

Settling this concern professionally as there's no need for any interfering from the national medias.

Additionally many people got hype to see the action live and I believe the owner will get the business back since they know they will get more views since first many people are at home seeking for something fun to watch and the shutting down of one network can possibly gather them more viewers since their competitor has been shutdown.

Interesting now if how serious PBA will deal to this and how serious as well the team owner of Blackwater in pursuing the selling of his franchise,.
it's triggered the management of PBA after that statement, pointing that sanctions that needs to be implement is not acceptable by the team,
without proper discussions and closures upon this matter it will serve as hang in the air argument.
