Selling of a team is not new in the PBA, it even happened in the NBA, so let's see who would be interested to by the team, maybe the team would improve under the new owner. I guess the owner was offended and at the same time maybe he is not happy with the team anymore as they have been tanking for many years already, so this timing just happen and I wish there would really interest the team and put their passion to improve Blackwater Elite.

I think now that this is an issue of ego. This is some sort of a counter attack to what sanction PBA might to the team for violating the protocol. The owner issued a statement saying he was bullied but with his actions, i think he is the bully.

I think @goinmerry is right, this team owner of Blackwater is arrogant. Selling the team around Php150 million is unbelievable. Do someone in his right mind will buy this team at this much with it's current status?

Blackwater is leaving the PBA. This might have something to do with Blackwater's alleged violation of quarantine protocols where the team return to practice prematurely.

I'm open to entertain interested parties as it's hard for me to continue supporting the PBA when my heart is no longer there.

Is the owner of the team serious?

I have read first in the social media news feeds that Blackwater Elite violated the PBA protocol to return practice even IATF already gave a go signal to some sports leagues that they can resume the practice. PBA has its own protocol before resuming the practice which is good. Allowing the practice should be on July 22 which is just few days to go. What the heck this team is thinking?

And now their team owner thinks he was offended because of the penalty so now he is now making sounds that he is offering the team on the sale.

I think this is more personal than financial issues. The league will truly hurt if the franchise will exit but PBA doesn't need this arrogant team owner to be part of the league. Let's wait for the progress of the story.

I guess a lot of business minded people will be interested with that.

Lots of team will likely to occupied and buy this franchise in case the owner is really serious to sell it out, I
remember Chocks to go owner wanted to join the PBA but haven't got the
franchise availability.

I think Manny can acquire the team if he likes, was Manny still the owner of the KIA team in the PBA which is  currently the colombyian DYIP?
Anyone know about this team? they always change but the last time I saw Manny was when he is with the KIA.

Not sure but if my memory recalls me way back, it's Mr. Jose Alvarez who own this franchise, but for sure Manny had the influenced
from this team, but after MPBL he haven't seen from the league anymore. If

I've watched a video just hours ago and it also came from a reputable site (spin.ph) so this is true.

In the video I watched, the owner said that he isn't passionate with basketball anymore and if they will just be penalized with what they've done it would be better if they will just sell the franchise to other teams or companies. He will just focus on Boxing he said.

It's just a knee-jerk reaction to the PBA's reprimand. They clearly violated the protocol set by IATF.

Good news not only for the Phoenix Squad but to the entire PBA league as fans are already missing Abueva, though he have that attitude
issues but the way he played and how athletic he is when inside the court, hopefully he will be seen
this All Filipino cup, he can adds up spice that will encourage the team to compete more aggressively.

Hopefully he truly learned his lesson which I think he realized it now.

Being a superstar is totally useless if a player behave unprofessionally.

Now that Abueva knows the struggle I'm expecting a new Abueva once he comes back. The penalty imposed to him is already enough. He should be allowed to come back now to add more competition in the PBA once the league come back.

It looks like he really has a mental problem as the last step was the series of psychological tests, lol.. probably check on him if he is also into illegal drugs.

No I don't think he needs that, he play the same when he is on college and by that he got an attention since he's hustle can annoyed players and destroyed their game phase. Maybe he got that attitude playing on streets so expect that he's playing style is something like physical.

Provably Abueva will learn a lesson for that but I don't think he will change and became soft when he came back.

I saw some of his highlights in college, he was the MVP IIRC but he doesn't have a kind of big fight that he experience in his time in the PBA.

That one is really hard to forget, and that's the reason why he got suspended indefinitely, I've watch the reply a lot of times and I saw what he did could kill a person, that's in the throat I guess and he is also a strong guy although Terrence was really a beast.

On the other hand if the BOD will still not allow him to play, I'm thinking that he will bite to the offer from Japan. Do you think that this is possible if he will still not be allowed to play after the BOD decides??.
~
His contract will probably expire this month of September.
~
Well, that is just 2 months away and if the BOD doesn't have a decision before the expiration of his contract then he may play in other countries for money because we know already how much money did he lost in not playing for almost a year or more.

Abueva is being known for his attitude inside the court hence his name "The Beast" is applicable for him but at that time when he did the wrong thing that cause him indefinite suspension is just too much. Playing physical on the court is still ok since we are known for being a physical team.

I don't think too that he will change his play style because he has been known for that way. Its just that he will adjust and minimize his actions.

I just hope that after this series of psychological tests, Abueva will be allowed to play in the PBA again.

He has been gone for a long time already and he has lost a lot of money already but on the other hand he is doing some charities and other activities that are helping the community.
He has been suspended for a long time, one year is too long for a suspension but I like the news that the coach tells his support and confidence as that would help Calvin Abeuva to follow comply on everything that is required to.

On the other hand if the BOD will still not allow him to play, I'm thinking that he will bite to the offer from Japan. Do you think that this is possible if he will still not be allowed to play after the BOD decides??.

If his contract will expire with his current team, then he can decide whether he will play outside and will wait for a new team to sign him up.

His contract will probably expire this month of September.

News for Calvin Abueva.

https://rappler.com/sports/pba/phoenix-coach-backs-remorseful-abueva

Quote
Phoenix head coach Louie Alas expressed confidence that Calvin Abueva will sooner than later complete the requirements the PBA demanded from him to have his indefinite suspension lifted.

Sidelined from PBA action for more than a year now, Abueva said he still needs to finish a series of psychological tests before commissioner Willie Marcial and the board of governors decide on his fate.

"I really believe Calvin will complete them before we start our closed circuit [setup]," Alas told One Sports show Sports Page in Filipino, referring to the PBA training restart.

Coach Louie Alas is very confident that Calvin will be back soon, he was already out for a year so I guess we will be surprise and we will see him back in the line up before the official resumption of the PBA.

I like to see him in All Filipino cup as that's where his team has a great chance of winning.

..and since that the giant network was already closed, they will have more opportunity to get more advertisements so that would also help them to still have a good revenue.

PBA is a live game so ads are limited and they won't be able to entertain all ads.

Those advertisements that have been in the ABS-CBN will choose a preferred timeslot in TV5.

But hopefully, new advertisers will be seen in PBA commercials adding to the usual ads we always see.

I think somehow they can add some advertisements, probably during the half-time break.
But let's see how this goes around, they still need to generate funds and fill those gap that they are not getting from gate entrance since I am expecting the same set up like the NBA (no crowd). However for some fans like me, I prefer to watch in a live streaming in facebook, so I'm not seeing an ads, lol...

Hopefully they will also bring back the streaming in their youtube channel.

Sad to say but without any airings and commercials they are really losing huge amount of money, and it will continue since the league is yet to resume back.

As per the article I shared above, with or without enough revenue, once PBA comes back, they would rather not think of the financial aspect "at least for now".

What matters according to Marcial is, they will come back for the fans. Of course, it's impossible to just throw away money without expecting in return so what I'm seeing here is, they will continue the league, even shorthanded, to slowly get some revenue even how small it is to support their savings. As I also mentioned, big companies are backed to PBA so I'm sure they will contribute to some preparations if necessary.

PBA officials needs to take care of their employees with this pandemic virus every resources where the management can get funds to provide
and sustained the employees compensations needs to be in used.

Yes, and they did.
