The Classic Benjie, he was really good during his prime, I heard his name but I was not able to follow his games.
Who do you think is the better, the Father Benjie or the son KOBE Paras? Maybe it's hard to compare them since Kobe was not in the PBA yet.
Shell is one of the popular teams in PBA way back the 90's. I was able to watch some of their games
(on TV) as my family is an enthusiast of PBA although Shell is not their favorite team. Ginebra and Purefoods is our family's favorite team back then but I'm not a fan of any team as I mostly admired the players itself.
Anyways, SMB Coach Leo Austria is also a part of the Shell roster.
Who's better between Benjie and Kobe? They have a different position that's why we can't compare it. But one thing I can say, Kobe Paras is more athletic compare to his father on his age, obviously, as a Small Forward. Benjie Paras on the other hand has a better basketball IQ and led Shell to the number of championships. He is also way more athletic compare to other centers on his time and has a great leaping ability. The talent that Kobe inherited alongside the height.
*Benjie Paras is playing the center position at the height of 6'6"
*Kobe Paras is playing the small forward position at the height of 6'6"
The reason they have different playing styles. But with continuous development, stats-wise, Kobe may able to surpass his father. But in achievements, he needs to be drafted in PBA.
