Yeah, I agreed there's just 1% possibility that he would come back and play Basketball again.

This is too low, you guys really think he can't make it because you are just giving him 1% chance? lol...

Guys, Lutz was a great player, he was just sidelined because he was injured, but when he thinks he is healthy now, then I guess he can play.
Though he wasn't active anymore but his love for basketball will make him come back, and if ever he won't make it in the PBA, I'm sure he will be given a chance in other league in the Philippines like the MPBL.

Manny is waiting.  Grin
Correct, This guy have skills and talents to showcase, in-case PBA have no space for him there's still MPBL that can cater him and give him the chance to play back and share his skills.
If he feels that he already in good shape then it's time for him to playback and sign a new contract, whatever league it is as long as he can play the game for sure he will be good for it.

That's another option if he really want to play, for sure, with the big number of teams in MPBL, he will be able to sign a team.
Actually MPBL is also an exciting league, Manny did pretty well with making this league and lot of us have enjoyed watching it, however, since ABS CBN is close at the moment, what channel would televised the event once the league will resume?

For sure many teams will be happy if lutz will decide to join on MPBL but I don't think MPBL will be an option for lutz since the salary is low compare to PBA or in international league but maybe he will consider this option if he doesn't have any offer from any teams.
If he just really want to play again, he can't force himself to play in the PBA if no team will signed him anymore.
He is not getting any younger and he was inactive for quite awhile already, if MPBL opens up a door for him, then he could grab it and if he do better then probably he will get a chance to get back in the PBA again.

And that's the question on where MPBL will be televised tv 5 have PBA so I think this is a headache for Manny.

Those two are rivals, I won't expect TV 5 would allow, I guess since Manny was a talent of GMA before don't know currently,  the maybe he could get some slot for MPBL.

I think if he is out of contract now and he will get signed by a certain team, then for sure that team still sees he can contribute.
This guy is not active as well with the Bolts, and even if he will get sign, for sure he will only get a very small playing time.

Here is some information on Chris Lutz.

Quote
Meralco holds the rights to Lutz, who the franchise picked from the free-agency list after being let go by San Miguel.

Unfortunately, Lutz hasn’t played a single game for the Bolts since landing there in 2017, no thanks to an assortment of injuries to the foot, ankle and back that kept him from making a comeback.

This guy plays like Marcio Lassiter, good defender and a good wingman as well when he was healthy. As I've read in the article, a comeback is a slim possibility since he is not yet on basketball shape and father time is catching up on him.

Chris Lutz interested in a PBA comeback by next season, says agent

Thanks for that detailed information, that's why I don't see him anymore since he was not able to play even a single game with the Meralco Bolts.
What's important now is that he is still interested and I think he will not think of that if he can't still play anymore, the age does not matter in PBA since with corresponding age, you'll get a lower salary and maybe lower playing time, a lot of old players in the PBA that is still active now, so maybe he will be given a chance knowing this guy is once a good player when at his prime.

Taulava is still active, right? the oldest now.

In addition: The article was published on December 2019. It might be irrelevant now since there is no new updates after that article that had been months old.

Lutz was a good defender as well, if I am not mistaken, he was part of the first 5 of the SMB line up? and he was just on and off because of injury, IIRC, I've seen him played with Marcio Lassiter in a line up, and this guy is quick as well. I checked on google and he is already 35 years old now, this means his life with the PBA is very short in case he will come back, but it would give a boost of the current line up and they need that since Fajardo is out, they will be a faster team now.

First of all, he is not an SMB player anymore so if he will come back, he will play for the Meralco Bolts, the team that signed him after SMB.

But for let's say the subject here is playing with SMB, that will be a bad move for SMB. 2 years of break, coming from injury, not ready to play yet, almost in the retirement season, why should they sign him. They even put Lutz as an unrestricted free agent.

I see that his desire for a comeback is not 100% but just a consideration. He likes to play but injuries keeping him off.

After all, he has a nice run as a PBA player with 3 championships.

My bad, maybe because I only see him actively playing in SMB and wasn't really playing with the Meralco Bolts.
I don't understand why meralco are signing players that are injury prone, 2 players I know that did great in their previous team but wasn't really contributing a lot when sign by the Meralco, De Ocampo and Luts maybe.

if he will come back, maybe he can help with his experience, he wasn't playing for 2 years already? that's long but as a player with the passion in basketball, I guess he can still get back and contribute to his team, 2 years  of not playing in the PBA but if active outside the PBA then we can still expect something from him.

They see a good potential on him that's why they signed them up but sadly he still cannot get up on his shoes and maybe this is a career ending injury for him since even up till know he's still not back in action, He's aging now and provably the boltz would get another player if things will not go as there plan, But I still doubt if he can perform well after he came back since it's been a long time he's out on the court and provably he will struggle.

I can't believe that Luts is not officially retired yet. I thought he is gone for good as he is out of the country for quite some time. I just only remember him because of the thread lol.
I knew he wasn't retired yet but I haven't seen him actively playing, even before the time when he was still in the SMB, he is not active anymore.

Reading articles around him, I think he is not capable of a comeback. It will take some time as he needs to practice and be used to play again. His physical activities are all stopped because of the injury.

Maybe a comeback at the age of 37-38 with a 1-year contract. Still, he is under contract with the Bolts so no problem with signing. But until when he is signed by the Bolts?

About Chris Lutz, have also read that he is making a PBA comeback but is stalled because of the pandemic. I will try to find the link and post it here if possible.

TBH I'm never seen Biboy Ravanes played even a vintage video, have never seen him and don't know him but those guys listed together with him, of course I've seen them all and I miss Chris Luts, he was one of the favorite in SMB, don't know what happen to him already.

Neither I have seen him play live bro  Smiley, just read articles and heard from PBA anchors on how good of a defender he is and was amazed to see this article about him being the best rookie the SMB had stats-wise.

Found an interesting article, i never thought that Biboy Ravanes was once an offensive player. I have known him for being a defensive player, seen him shut down opponent's ace player and import in a reinforced PBA conference.

But in other hand if they will pursue their NBA dream them we might gonna struggle getting them just like clarkson since they have certain restrictions with their players.

These players are going for NBA, about the restriction, I think it can be work out, getting even 2 or 3 of them would already give a boost to the team.
Although I like the PH team to get stronger, I would still love to see a pure blooded Filipino carry the team and show their heart in a big competition.

Coach Tab knows how to balance his players he can now pick the best one and trained them back, He already have knowledge with players that can be competitive and knows to play internationally, it's not hard for him to call those deserving players to play again and regroup, only those who are retired and already aging that's needed to be replaced and we all know that there are lots of new players who can fill in.

I'm not expecting much from coach Tab when he take over the Gilas head coaching job. We might be disappointed because however beautiful his system is but he don't have the kind of player suitable for this, then it's useless. But if in 2023 he could get the likes of Kai Sotto, Jalen Green, Jordan Ckarkson, Remy Martin and AJ Edu this could be huge to Philippine basketball.
True, those Players are ready to compete internationally and if they are willing to represent our country just like Clarkson, combination of good system plus competitive players. Those mentioned names plus our locals who are also capable to represent our country.
He can combined new and old gilas then add fresh legs that also fits his system.

Do they have PH passport already I heard some of them got issue with their passport so maybe this issue will come out on future, If they will be successfully inserted on Gilas system for sure this is a great boost with the PH team since they might reach up to the finals since this kids are pretty solid. But in other hand if they will pursue their NBA dream them we might gonna struggle getting them just like clarkson since they have certain restrictions with their players.
