Our "The bull" will be financially supported by the PBA as per commissioner Willie Marcial said. Wishing a speedy recovery for Asaytono. Smiley

They should consider this factors, COVID 19 is not a simple but a virus where can take a life in a short period of time, the PBA management should focus on how to avoid anyone being infected of this virus, instead of rushing things out, if it's possible to know all the details first even Corona is already been contained. The health is very important stuff best to think about it first before anything else.

The PBA is doing it's share in fighting this virus and I don't think they are rushing in resuming the games. They are closely monitoring the situation and making a plan out of it. The two-conference season will be implemented if things won't worsen, that's their plan and if this virus won't be contain still the soonest then we may see a one conference season this year.

PBA players and the organisation itself is helping the government on containing this COVID. We could see players donating their salaries for a good cause.

My question is, which conference will be suspended if it will be implemented that the two conference only will played in this season?

The Philippine cup has just started, so it means this conference will implemented? do they have a final words already about this?

..so for this the PBA management should look up for this as a ground to cancel the season since the Covid-19 is not a joke and continuing season is bit suicide for the entire team since they might spread out the disease if one of them got infected.

the PBA management should focus on how to avoid anyone being infected of this virus, instead of rushing things out,

Can you link us for some reports wherein PBA is rushing to continue the season? Or they want to continue even with the current situation? If there is, they are truly dumb but I don't think they are like that.

Before we do, PBA already knows that ahead to us.

They will not continue the conference and even they are greedy, the government will not allow that. And PBA is partnered with big people with big businesses. Even they will think of business, how come they can make profits if no people will come to watch on live. Even in a live game before this virus spread in the country, PBA audience in a live game is not that much (except when Ginebra is playing lol) so how worst today with the current situation?

What Covid-19 has done to PH sports

Poor Philippine Basketball Association. Already deprived of what could’ve been a grand celebration of its 45th anniversary, leading to a bigger Golden Year five years from now, it looks like the country and Asia’s oldest pro league has been forced to a two-conference format.

https://www.manilatimes.net/2020/04/12/sports/columnists-sports/what-covid-19-has-done-to-ph-sports/712714/

The adjustment is necessary as Philippines right now is still under lock down, people are in luzon are under enhanced community quarantine, and that's where the capital of Philippine businesses, so it's just right that PBA has to plan its future.

If NBA might cancel their season, PBA is certainly gonna adjust too, and we don't know what would happen in the future yet as the covid-19 is still actively destroying our lives.

The case in philippines is not controlled yet and the cases is increasing everyday so for this the PBA management should look up for this as a ground to cancel the season since the Covid-19 is not a joke and continuing season is bit suicide for the entire team since they might spread out the disease if one of them got infected.

I love PBA but hopefully they matter the health now rather than business.

It will not cancel its whole season as whole compose of 3 conferences.
We are currently in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup now, only one game was played yet then the conference was pause.
If the conference will be cancelled, there's two more conference remaining.

Back to PBA, JuneMar Fajardo has a chance to be the GOAT but I don't know the real criteria to be called that one. Stats and the number of the championship is truly not the basis, at least in NBA. Or maybe the nature of competition per year? Not sure though as it's difficult to say that this era is soft compare back then. It's unfair to all players.

Anyhow one thing for sure, JMF is one of the greats. He is still active so he can add more to his achievements.

We all know that selecting GOAT of the PBA is as hard as in the NBA because there is no criteria for such. While reading some stuff in the sports section, i stumble upon this sport's writer column and his criteria of selecting GOAT in the PBA, again this is just his opinion and this is subject to a debate  Smiley.

Personally, though, here's why I can't vote for Fajardo as the GOAT.

He can't shoot free throws to save his "mega yacht."

Yeah they are very much alike, because they are father and son lol. But kidding aside, I hope that Kobe will be as great as his father. Does he already a player in PBA? Its been a long time since I watch PBA and follow its news. And kobe is the youngest between the two right? And got a draft in the NBA?

PBA - No attempts have been made
NBA - No attempts have been made

Currently, he is playing for UP Fighting Maroon in UAAP. I don't know what his plan but prior UAAP he wants a professional career outside locals. He is now 22. He should rush so every year matters.

I thought Kobe Paras was there but when I read it, it was Benjie Paras, I was just surprise because TBH, it's the first time I saw Benjie in a picture with a hair.  Grin.. the I am not anymore interested in reading the content of the article. lol

Actually, if Benjie Paras push his PBA career until the end, I think he will be the GOAT - but of course, it needs a number of championships. He's popular even prior to entering the PBA draft. He is expected to be one of the future greats even in his early years.

Paras is the most athletic player in the PBA at his height category. He is a monster during his prime. I never saw a player, the same height around him that is versatile at any position. Maybe Arwind Santos and Japeth Aguilar but not closest.

It's a long discussion i think if we are going to discuss the GOAT in the PBA but just for the sake of answering the question, IMHO it's a 'yes'.

My bases for my opinion is the number of MVP's Junemar Fajardo already had, many will disagree of course but this is just my opinion.

For my personal opinion, yes Fajardo already surpassed those well known stars from this league having the most numbers of MVP awards and with how he dominated the league, He's presence really take big impact as he can change the pace of the game, he can deliver if the team needs him to provide, though it's still many opinions and arguments in terms of being a GOAT of PBA but with the numbers of awards  he have now it can be classified as it is.

President D30 has been donated his 1 month salary which he become the good type of example by influencing others who have more in life to do same thing.

That's  a great example, but President Duterte did not earn a lot from his salary, so it's not really a big amount, but the action is really good, it should set as an example. not sure if this article is accurate but here's the salary of the Philippine president.

<...>
That ₱1.8M yearly is unbearable with all the hard work gesture of our loving president.

This one much more accurate I guess.

Salary: ₱375,000 monthly/₱5,200,000 annually
Reference: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/President_of_the_Philippines

With that monthly salary, it can feed lots of family for a month. Cheesy

Good enough, but I'm sure Duterte is already a millionaire before winning the presidency.
That is just a small money for them but big enough for the recipient, actually we need more private employers to help in this crisis, I know there's a lot of people out there, some have not thought of helping it, but hopefully they'll be inspired of what president has done.

Gawd. The president and chief owner of the San Miguel Corporation donated P100 Million Personal.

https://www.pba.ph/news/smc-chief-hand-out-perfect-assist-in-time-of-crisis

Out of curiosity. What if every owner of the team does like this thing?

It's nice gesture for the SMB president for helping the people who got affected by the crisis but I think the others are helping already but not publicize by media or the other is waiting for a push.

And by this humanitarian act by him for sure the other president, governor or team owners will follow to donate.

I wonder also if there's a player donates some goods already since there's no noise about it on medias.

Yeah, there are a lot of people helping/donating behind the camera in which I admire the good gesture of it.

President D30 has been donated his 1 month salary which he become the good type of example by influencing others who have more in life to do same thing.

On the other hand, this is why where talking about this SMB President donation that got influenced by others and he would influence other as well. Cheesy
