No game for today as the PBA board of Governor's decided to cancel all the games as a cautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19.

Why can't they play in a crowd-less arena?  Smiley

I was really expecting there's a game today, I was excited to put my bet but when I check on the site, it was announce postpone.
Maybe they are just doing the right measure, we can't do anything but to wait til it resume, this COVID-19 is really destroying business all over the world.

That would be the good thing to do for now because it would be so hard for the government if ever there are so many people that will be infected with the disease. I hope that it would not take a long time to resume the PBA games.

@Sanitough, thank you for sharing.

By the way, we have two games tomorrow.

4:30 pm -TNT vs Phoenix Super LPG Fuelmasters (they have a new name now)
7:00 pm - NLEX vs Northport

I am checking on the sportsbook but there is no line available yet.
TNT will be tested after acquiring Erram let see if how  he will help the team to win games knowing that he's now going to fill the center position which being lack previously for this team.
Also like to see how Parks will adjust this season, while Poguy and Castro are expected to show leadership.

TNT is the heavy favorite with -8 against the undermanned Phoenix, we will see but I guess they are just hype.

Talking the Phoenix to win the match would give you 3.948 odds, will you try to risk for this guys?
The handicap for TNT is good enough to be covered assuming that they will play with all those hypes behind them. Phoenix as you said is unmanned
to match with the lineup of batang ka-tropa.
If things went well for TNT I assumed that they can win with 2 digit lead. Let see if they will covered the handicap.

yes that's the name of luck even though the chance of winning reaches 90% can still lose at the end, and I guess that's the art of gambling.
I have also experienced things like you when the chances of winning were above 90% but I still lost, I played in a different game  Grin

But on that game between Magnolia and SMB, I will not think that Magnolia has the higher chance of winning, not 60% not 70%, not 80%. Honestly, I didn't even think that Magnolia will handle the SMB "easily". I mean, it's not making sense to expect that game to be easy for them. SMB without Fajardo is still a tough team to beat.

Just look at the odds above posted for the outrights. SMB is still one of the favorites ahead of Magnolia (I was surprised at the odds given to TNT).

I lose my bet on this game, I was thinking Magnolia would easily beat the SMB but I was wrong, they showed that they can still dominate inside and Moala Tautuaa was just so smart with the pick and roll plays, all of them did great especially the 3 point shooting, that kills the Magnolia as they don't shoot 3s pretty well and the SMB's defense is really good.

I'm not surprise that GSM is the favorites to win the Championship this All Filipino Cup.
We don't have a line like that in our crypto sportsbook but it's available in one of the fiat sportsbook in the Philippines.

I won't always bet on the underdog like you've said, I will stick on GSM instead lol.
You stick with the GSM, they might win most of the time but there is no assurance they'll cover the spread most of the time.
Magnolia lacks of defense that time that's why they loss or maybe they focus so much on defense than they forget how to score.

It's a low scoring game and most likely that would be the trend now as the PBA tolerate the physicality of the game and we don't have import who dominate on the offense. If you notice that game, Sanggalang was T'd up because he was complaining that there was no foul called against the opponent.

Me too, I'm shocked with the result. I never think that SMB can't have a chance to beat MAG but mate their 16 point lead until the clock stops is what I didn't exp3ct at all Shocked. It was so impressive that they already build a good team harmony after the absence of Fajardo. Props to Mo! He really did a great job yesterday night. He is now proving us that he can also fulfill Abay's duty so for me he definitely deserved to get respect. It is not a "chamba", he is good and improving further.
I got carried away with my feelings, I was too confident on the capability of the Magnolia this all Filipino Cup but I was disappointed.

Yeah, you were carried away especially knowing that they will face an SMB without the Kraken Cheesy. But seriously? You are rooting for Magnolia this conference? Yeah they got Bachero as their added force for their team but I don't feel him at all (based on what I observed). IMO a Krakenless Beermen is still stronger than the current roster of Magnolia.
I would say I have a bad start of the season, I loss a big amount of money but that was just the first game, I think I should stick with my strategy to bet on the underdog.
That's okay, we're the same (maybe just not as huge as yours). I will be more careful next time. I won't always bet on the underdog like you've said, I will stick on GSM instead lol.

Bad news for PBA, it looks like PBA is now threaten to postponed games amid coronavirus fears.
There are already reports about people infected in Manila, so this means people won't be going to the crowded places and this would affect the sales of the PBA this season.

source : https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/pba-not-spared-as-emergency-board-meeting-set-to-tackle-covid-19-a793-20200309?ref=feed_1_section

Actually, I can't consider it as bad news solely for PBA even their revenue will be affected since it's a must thing to do and necessary. Prioritizing people's health over profit.

And besides, it's not just PBA who is affected but the majority of services, companies, establishments, etc. here in the country as well. Actually, the NBA is also planning to play on an empty arena if the virus infection spreads more.

The outbreak is really unstoppable. I think several people already infected in Manila alone but not yet checked.

I guess you are right, the government are just doing the right measure, they are preventing people on big event as that way it's easy to spread the virus. I am also afraid that NBA games would do the same protocol as we all know that NCOV is now everywhere, even in America.

Just to clear, SMB is not considered an underdog on that game.

The reason also why the Moneyline odds are close.

Congratulations to Junmar Fajardo for his 6th consecutive PBA MVP awards in this Philippines Basketball Association season 44.

He truly demonstrated everything and deserved the throphy of being MVP.
Being a fan of him means a lot of this achievement to me. Does anyone here a Junmar fan?. Cheesy

I have noticed that people especially in social media, consider SMB's win as a big deal just because they won without JuneMar. I don't see how it became special. SMB can still match with other teams even with no Kraken on their lineup and they are still a contender.

We can't deny the fact that SMB is Fajardo's team as he is a vital piece whenever they won a championship, that is why a win without him is something special in the eyes to ordinary basketball fans.

I agree with you that even without JMF15, they can still win games in the eliminations but i expect future opponent of SMB are now scouting Mo and design defensive plays to stop or at least slow him down and it's not that difficult to do as he is not so dominant down low.

That's for sure, Mo has a lot of open shots because the defense was not focus on him, if he will be scouted, maybe the SMB will struggle.
They don't drive too often, they just rely on their jump shooting especially the 3 point shooting so they win at a big market.

I was expecting that Chris Banchero could provide some help but it didn't happen, I miss the way he played like when he was still a star in Alaska, I wish Magnolia could utilize him instead of forcing the passes to the inside when they aren't effective.
