The president of the Swedish Football Federation has already criticized this decision by FIFA. For them, FIFA should have found a new opponent for Poland in the playoff semi-finals. Since he thinks that all teams should compete under the same conditions, that is, facing two games to reach the final stage of the World Cup.

I don't think he is right. Where will FIFA find a new opponent, and it is especially important based on what algorithm? Russia got its place by right, but then received a technical defeat - that means Poland goes further. Why does Poland have to play with someone else to advance? I don't see any reason for this.
The Poland vs Russia match has been officially cancelled, in the past Poland took the decision not to play in Russia, but now Poland has taken a new decision they are boycotting playing with Russia, last week FIFA has also expelled Russia from the football federation, to replace Russia's replacement, it's really not maybe, because it would violate FIFA laws, other countries did not agree with the decision, taking another country to face Poland in the world cup play offs..

This is just a sham. Laws should be applicable equally to everyone. If Russia is suspended based on the complaint by Poland and Sweden, then why these two countries were not suspended for their involvement in Afghanistan and Libya? Here Poland directly benefits from the suspension, because Russia was supposed to play against them. I expected FIFA to stay out of politics, but given their previous history I knew it was not going to happen. And now Poland has got a free pass to the world cup, thanks to the unfair decision by FIFA.

Ukraine has requested that their qualifying game for the WC is postponed. It was supposed to be played in Scotland on March 24th and in Ukraine on March 29th but considering the fact that football has been suspended in Ukraine it remains to be seen how this will be handled.

Both Fifa and the Scottish FA have expressed understanding for the situation and hopefully a solution can be found. If not, unfortunately football is not the most important thing in such situations - but it would be unfair if Ukraine would not get the chance to play.

An important step had to be taken in this regard. Being at war is not their fault, this country is going through hard times. There will be a decision to postpone the matches that are expected to be played. Currently, there is no situation where anyone can play football in this team, unfortunately people are going through very painful days.
Ukraine is not a very strong team, but it has many football players that the whole world knows. They will want to make good matches for their country

I think everyone has sympathy for Ukraine, but the question is how long this match can be postponed?
If I'm not mistaken, the draw for the World Cup in Qatar will be next month, and by then all the participants in the World Cup must be known.
The war in Ukraine has just begun and I think it is not realistic that it will end soon, and yet the whole world can't stop because of it.
A short-term postponement of the match for a couple of weeks will not help Ukraine, and a longer postponement is not possible.
Other countries used to be in a similar situation as Ukraine now and in the end they still had to play their matches, usually on neutral ground in another country.

You are right in the statement, for now it can be expected, but the stipulated dates must be met as soon as possible, in South America there was a problem with the Brazilian and Argentine teams, which at the time of qualifying do not have much relevance because Both teams are already qualified and I don't know if that game has already taken place, but they have to be met before the stipulated dates. I don't know if FIFA makes a special exception due to the situation in the country, although I wouldn't be surprised.

Sport over the years has been a tool to promote peace and unity.

yeah, good luck.
There is a freaking war going on and we are expecting Ukraine to send people to play in the world cup.
But I also understand that postponement is not the solution.

So, I actually agree that Ukraine really needs to come to a decision as fast as possible.

Russian team was fully banned yesterday - they will not be able to participate under another name/flag as well. That means that Poland progresses to the final of their qualifying group, where they wait for the winner of the Sweden - Czech Republic semifinal.

He is right and I think this situation might produce a lot of tension. Putin did say that either Russia plays in the World Cup for there will be no World Cup. And if I know anything I know this, Putin is absolutely crazy. At first, I thought he was joking but, yeah, I am not so sure about it now.  Embarrassed

It is nice that FIFA is trying to accommodate as much as they can the Ukrainian soccer federation, as right now it is impossible to hold a soccer match under the current circumstances.

However if the war drags on it is possible that Ukraine will have to forfeit the match and lose any opportunity to go to the world cup, but at the same time it would be an incredible story if the Ukrainian team could play the qualifiers and made it to the world cup, as without a doubt that would inspire their population during these difficult times they are facing.

I feel really bad for Ukraine but not all hope is lost, as FIFA has postponed the game till June and I’m sure that peace will be established by then so hopefully Ukraine will be able to play the game. Furthermore I believe that Ukraine player’s will be highly motivated to play for their nation in June, and I personally hope that they win this fixture as and when it’s held.

FIFA's suspension of Russia in the World Cup play-off event has indeed caused a lot of debate considering that the country will struggle in the playoffs to get a place in the Qatar world cup this season, where many countries criticize if Russia is included in the play-off event by FIFA. international FIFA, if this really happened to the Russian national team, it is almost certain that this is an injustice in the world of football considering that the war that occurred was geopolitical between the two countries even though it caused many casualties but football still had to be separated from the world of politics as happened in the past. other countries such as Palestine and Israel where FIFA does not carry out a policy that prohibits Israeli football from working under the auspices of FIFA

The same can be said of the other sanctions that are being carried out, at an economic level.
It's not an easy situation, and when the rules were made it was never something that was planned, so any decision will be complicated.

I agree that sport must remain neutral, as has happened on other occasions. Sport has always been known as a "weapon" to promote peace and unity among peoples.

FIFA will postpone the decision as long as possible, but it will really make a decision.

With regard to FIFA's decision, it is somewhat harsh, despite the fact that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia went from being a geopolitical problem to a matter of war between rulers, the citizens are not to blame, I have friends in Russia who tell me that most people do not agree with what the president is doing, even so the players should not be punished but the rulers, the sanctions will never be for the rulers of the countries, because they already have everything safe, the who suffer from these sanctions are the people, the people, in this case sports and football. But seeing all the facts of the high crimes against humanity that have occurred in Ukraine by Russia, I know that they are high pressure measures against the Russian government, to force it to back down, the bad thing is that I do not think it is the solution because threatening with dissuasive power is something else, in addition to the imminent danger that there is now that the nuclear plant is on fire, it is something that is very worrying, according to some analysts it could end up with a continent, if so, God forbid, I do not think let there be a world cup.

This is interesting, FIFA has invoked temporary employment and registration rules. So now probably both Ukraine and Russia will be able to play in the world cup.

But actually, I still want to know if the threat of Putin had something to do with this because he did say that either Russia is going to play the world cup or there will be no world cup. And if I were FIFA I wouldn't take that lightly.

There is anger over the decision to expel Russia from the 2022 World Cup. In a remark made by Vladimir Putin, "Either Russia will be at the World Cup 2022, or there will be no World Cup.". Putin's actions brought more harm to his country than good. FIFA should do the right thing and do what is fair. He may say that, but did he really said it? If the answer is YES, then it's a suicide mission to go to Qatar if Russia doesn't play.

Where did you read these words from Putin? I searched and didn't find any information about this observation.

This is because Russia is still not qualified for the World Cup, and until the play-offs it is not known if Russia qualifies or not. In a normal situation, Russia had to win Poland (first game) to stay in the race for a place in the World Cup. But I could lose and not go to the World Cup.

That's why I find this observation strange. But it's Putin, everything is possible.

Putin has gone mad. He has not thought of the consequences. The world has shown his that anything and everything is possible and the government falls in a jiffy and people leave for an eternal aboard in a jiffy. Like Shakespeare said all the world's a stage and women and men are players. We play our part and leave either by making a world a better place or making the world a hell. Like in the case of Putin and many other big names who have put this planet on fire. May we all make the right decision for the welfare of the people and world.

I honestly don't think that Ukraine is in any position for doing that. There is freaking work going on and I think it's absolutely stupid to even talk about the situation of their football team at the moment. The football of Ukraine is going to face a lot of problems because of that. And I think the footballers who chose to fight in the war did the right thing because it's more important to protect the country than playing football.

I am not saying that Ukraine has to make decisions on the matter. Sport over the years has been a tool to promote peace and unity. It is a complicated situation for all those involved.

But what are you going to do? Cancel the Worlds? Postpone to another date? I think it's a very complicated situation. I didn't want to be in the decision-makers' shoes!

Many of Ukraine's national football teams have participated in the war, this is the news I saw. Even a footballer who went to fight against Russia has died. I have also seen such news. At the moment it is not possible for Ukraine to host any match. Every day they are being attacked by Russian forces. Russia's attack will not stop unless the Ukrainian government collapses.
Unless the war ends today, Ukraine will not be able to host a football match in time for the World Cup.
It is true that the World Cup is only at the end of the year 2022, but it is necessary for the participating teams to organize themselves in advance for their trip to Qatar. For this, it is necessary for the participating teams to be chosen within 2/3 months.
