I don't really know why Peru is so strongly favoured against Australia. I don't think that they're that much better. If I would have to predict, I would say that this game will got o Extra Time and maybe penalties. And yeah,
Costa Rica isn't something special, but they're still much better than New Zealand.

Users have already posted past stats for Peru and Australia and it is easy to see why Peru is so strongly favored. If you don't want to go with the past history, you can check their recent performances and FIFA ranking. Peru is ranked 25th, while Australia is currently languishing at the 41st position. So you can clearly see why the sportsbooks are favoring Peru for the playoff. And being an Oceanian team, I don't think that Australia has any additional advantage with playing in Qatar. And for the Costa Rica vs New Zealand match, I would favor the former, due to the reasons already mentioned for the first playoff.

There is recent news that Ecuador is likely to be removed from upcoming World Cup because one of their players wasn't eligible to play for Ecuador:

Chile is going to replace them, I hate when decisions who will play in tournament is solved off the pitch, but rules are rules...

You mean Australia in the first sentence tho.
I agree with you about the odds, they are quite exaggerated. Australia could challenge Peru in that game, make a draw maybe, yet Peru is better imo and they will end up by winning tho. Penalties would be the worst scenario for them.
For Costa Rica, I think the odds are clear, they are favorite.

2 tickets left for the World Cup, Australia - Peru will play on June 13 followed by Costa Rica - New Zealand.
No need to mention that the American teams have the advantage tho.. Peru 1.8 vs 4.4 Australia and Costa Rica 1.6 vs 6.2 New Zealand.
The defeat of UAE was expected and 1 goal difference as the final score was a good one for them imo.

Peru is much stronger than UAE so it is a 50:50 chance for both teams to qualify further. The odd of Australia are bigger than they normally should be as I would rate the game 2.10 Peru and 3.20 Australia with 3.00 as a draw. The other odd of Costa Rica is really big I would say considering that New Zealand is not of the same quality and Costa Rica is much better and they have also one of the best goalkeepers in the world which makes it difficult for New Zealand to score.I think it will end with a win and a clean sheet for Costa Rica.

I want Scotland or Wales to qualify to the World Cup because they dont go to one for a lot of time.

Also this teams dont have the fault for the Ukraine-Russia situation. The only thing i dont want to see its some arbitration assistance to Ukraine.

But in the game i think both teams are in the same level, the two have some good players so i dont know who can win.
You are right, I would like Wales to have a World Cup because I would like to see Bale playing, he has not had much action in the national team so Real Madrid have him on the bench due to his injury, if his team qualifies for the World Cup it would be spectacular because between now and November I think he can fully recover, on the other hand with Scotland they are a very tough team, very strong and they have a very peculiar football, on the other hand I think that the FIFA referees have no bias towards Ukraine, that is football, under no circumstances do they have to make a match for or against.

I think so. I'm surprised that Australia has a 4.6 odds of winning and a 2.9 overall odds of qualifying. Despite the fact that Peru is a strong team, these are too pessimistic estimates for Australia. I think that in such circumstances betting on Australia would be a logical move because winning looks more likely than the bookmakers show us.
Between Peru and Australia, it's clear to me that for now, you can say that betting for Australia's win dominates. If from some performances Australia is still above Peru, which does not show a bit of rapid development. We can see that for the last nine years, Peru has not been able to bounce back quickly in the Copa Libertadores. I therefore think it makes sense why people are betting more in Australia.

Although you are absolutely right in that aspect, it must be said that Peru has a lot of motivation, it left Colombia on the road and I think that Colombia at the moment is much superior to the Peruvians, however I think that it is possible for the Peruvians to give a good surprise, they are very hungry to go to the World Cup.

Australia did have a bit of luck in winning a 1-2 win over the United Arab Emirates where they were pressed continuously in the match the victory made Australia still have hope to keep their chances of qualifying for the Qatar world cup where they will face Peru, representatives of Latin America in the Champions League. the match that determines the world cup ticket.of course Perum has better quality than the UAE of course Australia should not underestimate Peru where they also qualified for the Russia world cup yesterday of course they want to repeat in the Qatar world cup this year when they face Australia in the play off match next week's world cup host Australia to Australia

Grin Great justification! Even without this, I was planning to bet on the Netherlands but now I am 100% sure of the bet, it remains to pick up some additional match to increase the odds (I prefer multi bets), but Scotland seems unreliable to me.
The final World Cup qualifiers will take place on June 13th and 14th and at the moment I have no idea about these couples.
Well apart from that, Netherlands is also the stronger team  Wink
Odds are (Wales vs Netherlands) 7.3/4.6/1.4, so not a good quote for Netherlands winning, but maybe a safe bet?
Tonight there is also Belgium vs Poland (1.6/3.9/5.Cool, here it might be interesting to bet that Belgium won't win? Or are Belgium as strong as there FIFA rank suggests?

Good coefficient! I also chose this event (it seemed to me that Australia was undervalued, as well as Italy, by the way) for my multibet but I boosted the odds on Italy.

What can you say about today's games? Maybe the Netherlands? The rest of the pairs look risky even Scotland - Armenia.

These are my picks:

Wales vs Netherlands: Netherlands will win because everyone else in Wales will be tired after celebrating their recent qualification to the world cup  Cheesy

Scotland vs Armenia: Scotland will probably win being a superior team, and coming back frustrated after their defeat against Ukraine for the world cup qualifier.

Note that both matches are from the Nations League though. The first match between world cup qualified teams, and the second, not qualified ones.

It was amazing but frustrating to watch the first half (second half I was having my eyes elsewhere so couldn't really tell if they improved) but this match was so important to them and they played like they were not really hungry (I even felt UAE were more desperate).

Peru's pretty good, mind you, they've been solid players in the Concacaf games -- both will want to continue their WC final appearance but yeah, Aussie's got the weight of history behind them, appearing in every edition I've ever watched except the first (1998, where they lost the playoff to Iran) Wink

Who else thinks a Kiwi-Aussie acca is worth the money?

@KTChampions I got Aussie at effective 19/10 boost so really pleased. Somehow like them in the WC, even if they end up just getting whipped heh.

Up next Peru!

I think a lot of people underestimate Peru, just because historically they've not been great... but one important thing to note is that they finished above Colombia in the South American qualification table, and most people would regard Colombia as a good team and probably favourites to beat Australia.

Similarly I think Australia are a little over-rated, just because they've been quite good in the past.

I may be in the minority, but I actually fancy Peru to qualify.

Well, if you look at the history, the last time Australia and Peru played, in the previous world cup, Peru won 2-0.

So, I would say that history is on Peru's side. But I have a feeling that Australia will make it this time.

Up next Peru!

The 2-1 was an amazing win for Australia, and I think they're going to be pumped to win their match against Peru in a few days.

I honestly don't think Peru can win unless Australia makes some silly mistakes. In my opinion, if both teams play their best games, Australia will end up winning and securing their spot into group D.

Australia's win was kind of expected, even though it was a pretty close score at the end. Austrialia (FIFA rank 42) is definitely the underdog vs Peru (rank 22). South American teams are pretty strong in general and must go through a tough qualification league. Peru came out 5th out of 10 South American teams, while they had trouble against the "big ones" (Brazil, Argentina), they frequently bet the smaller South American teams in the qualification. I think Peru will win this last game and book their ticket to the World Cup.

Absolutely. They last played in the 2018 world cup: Peru won 2-0 against Australia.

But I think this time it's going to go slightly the other way, a one goal difference win by Australia is my guess.

Glad that Australia won. They deserve a place in the World Cup much more than the United Arab Emirates. Still they have one more challenge, and that is going to be the playoff match against Peru. Honestly, I believe that the Australians would be the underdogs in this match. CONMEBOL and UEFA teams are a level ahead of the AFC and CAF teams. Peru has decades of experience in playing against some of the strongest teams in the world, such as Brazil, Argentina and Chile. And Australia is yet to fill the vacuum left by Tim Cahill.

Woo hoo Australia!

Watched the first half just before Germany-England Nations League game and I have to say I feared the worst when half time came up, Aussies had the offense but ended up blunt, but by the time they scored the first goal (with their only shot on target all game) I was okay. Then the equaliser -- had a bet riding on it -- and good old late goal popped up.
