costa rica is now the last team to qualify for the 2022 world cup in qatar.
with a 1-0 win against new zealand, costa rica will now play in a world championship for the sixth time. the team will face germany, japan and spain in group e.

What a game.

New Zealand was attacking all the time, but never actually managed to score. The only time they did score it was after a foul, so it was not valid. And close to the end there was a great save by the Costa Rican goalkeeper. After watching this I reckon New Zealand should practice more at actually shooting the ball into the goal, there were many attempts, but the vast majority were not forced mistakes from the striker.

In the end the early goal from Costa Rica sealed the deal for them. It wasn't pretty, but it's all it takes to win. That's football.

Australia have qualified to World Cup after beating Peru in penalty shootout.
Whole match wasn't nice to watch, there were no many dangerous moments, so, nothing surprising that game went to penalties. Australia missed first penalty, but it didn't stopped them and last Peru penalty was saved by goalkeeper.
I said that Australia is understimated too much. Tomorrow New Zealand - Costa Rica.

Completely forgot about this game  Cry  I saw that the odds for this game are inadequate and Australia is greatly underestimated, but watching the League of Nations I forgot to place a bet on this game in time. From the description, the game was rather dull - was it caused by the heat or were the players in the same situation as the players participating in the League of Nations?
I was almost sure Peru will win that game that I didn't bother to watch it until I saw the results hours after and I was like surprise!
Today Costa Rica is the favourite one, I can't imagine having the underdog teams winning twice in this qualification!

Throughout the match it was very visible that the two teams played quite monotonously and there were only a few opportunities that really threatened the goal, actually I hope that Peru will qualify for the world cup because football from Latin America is indeed quite beautiful to enjoy, but luck is on the side of Australia in that match and their confirmed a place in Group D of the 2022 world cup, but to be honest, looking at the teams currently in Group D, it looks like Australia won't be able to talk much about the World Cup later because they have to face a strong team like France and Denmark.

The game doesn’t get the viewers’ attention most of the time, though Australia played well but at the end the joy of playing with a penalty shoot was enjoyable. Goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne  send the Socceroos to Qatar 2022. Australia goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne celebrates after saving a penalty shoot-out that attracts viewers attention. In this winning Australia participate fifth successive World Cup finals. It is really a great moment for them.

Actually kind of pleased to see most of you are still banking on Peru---
Less tension isn't always a good thing Wink
Peru odds remained +/- stable and still x2 better than Australia. Their government put a special holiday today so people can support their national team! They breathe football there Cheesy

Yeah, the draw was a minor upset but since I took ML on Australia, my NZ bet today is rendered pointless. Not going to double down on that for the odds, when another draw to PK outcomes seems on the cards.

Love those states doing holiday things -- when Tirana hosted the Conference League final, they declared that day a public holiday I heard (which is strange as they weren't even playing haha) but I get it. My country always promises a holiday if we win the Asian Cup or even Thomas Cup (badminton). Funny but totally get it.

The unattractive course of the Australia vs Peru match could not be separated from the team leader who preferred to play it safe throughout the 120 minutes of the match where the match was not colored by surprises or dangerous opportunities owned by both teams where Australia itself only released two shots on target and Peru only fired one shot on target so that both teams had to proceed to the penalty shootout where Australia was leading 5-4 and entitled to a ticket to the Qatar world cup this year after they had missed the previous edition of the world cup

I didn't even know this was going on, so caught up busy with other things, actually in Asia also we have AFC qualifiers so was watching a bit of that last week, we kind of support Australia rather than America even though they're not really part of us, but great news to see the Socceroos back (as usual). No team wanted to win it in regular time I guess, I hate penalties, not sure why teams want to go all the way to that and play lottery.

France, Denmark, and Australia made up the same group at the 2018 World Cup. They will form the same group at the 2022 World Cup. There are some similarities between this World Cup team and the one from 2018, except that Tunisia replaces Peru.

Australia makes the FIFA World Cup. There will be no Super Eagles in attendance when the Kangaroos play World Cup. They'll head straight for the death group! Jumping straight from the frying pan into the fire! France and Denmark are making progress.

Compared to the recent matches between Costa Rica and New Zealand indeed Costa Rica had good records than New Zealand but apparently we cannot make this as the reference because the results is depend on their performance while play but i assume both of teams will playing all out because this similar to final match and possible they will play with attacking so i think both teams to score is good to consider and whoever the winner of this match they have to hard struggle in world cup because they will joining at group E which is hell group with Germany and Spain

Peru will have some nice players, but I think Australia is still more highly regarded as a football country. Personally I don't care who would go to the World Cup, but Australia is a team that can offer more resistance against stronger teams. They may still be able to make it through the group stage, but I don't know which group they have been drawn into. I know they were there at the 2014 World Cup, they didn't do that badly at all with an acceptable level. A shoot out must have been nerve-wracking.

LOL.. this is strange. I always thought that Peru is a cricket crazy nation, since it is a part of the Latin American community. On the other hand, football is not very popular in Australia. The most popular sports are AFL, Rugby and cricket. Anyway in the end, the outcome was decided on the basis of penalty shootout and Australia managed to qualify. Feels bad for Peru, because CONMEBOL teams are usually not given as many spots in the world cup as they deserve. But being an Asian, it is natural for me to favor Australia.

The match wasn't really something spectacular to watch. Not too much attacking on either side. The main action was the dancing of the Australian goalkeeper while trying to block the penalties  Grin

He probably deserves the man of the match award for blocking the last penalty for Peru. But I have to say, that little dance looked a bit annoying. It worked in the end though...

Now with New Zealand, my guess is that they will win against Costa Rica, probably by actually scoring in the 90 minutes instead of how Australia qualified.

And that will be the last spot!

Well, I was following the game minute by minute, I couldn't see it on DirecTV, apparently they announced it but never broadcast it, in the same way on Instagram they criticized DirecTV a lot because the problem was in several countries, however the comments of those who they were able to watch the game they said that the first half was very boring, in the end from what they paint the second half was the same, Peru is a team that I don't know how it could go to the playoffs, Colombia deserved it more, Chile, however I I like that Australia has been able to go to the World Cup, they deserve it. It's nice to see a different type of football, I hope they do well in the World Cup. I think the most exciting part of that game was the penalty kicks, where the team that practiced is the one that benefits.

1xBit recovered their reputation
Australia during qualification matches was failed to showed impressive performance with finish at 3rd position on third round groups but at least they win from UEA and open their opportunity went to world cup but their opponent Peru is the favourite because both of teams have been met in 2018 on world cup group stage and Peru is the winner 2-0 and i think this match also will not so different that Peru will possibly win
Australia had to go through a flyover round to be able to compete in the first world cup against a fellow continent, namely the United Arab Emirates which they had already defeated.at which time Australia was a bit lucky because in that match they continued to be pressured by the UAE before Australia finally locked the win ahead of the second round. ended.and now Australia must focus on facing the second play-off from another confederation namely Peru where the Latin American team is currently performing so impressively where they were in the Russia world cup yesterday of course this will not be missed by Peru because their strength is much better than Australia

I think Australia is going to find it very hard to win against Peru. And obviously, right now it seems like Peru is a lot better team compared to Australia. I actually think Peru is going to use this opportunity to showcase their strength. It might not be a one-sided match but I believe it will be a convincing performance by Peru.

Actually kind of pleased to see most of you are still banking on Peru, as are the bookies, which usually gives me more confidence that the team could end up being overconfident in sunny, hot, balmy Doha. The Aussies will be happier to be the underdog also so should play without pressure.

Just hope they make their height advantage count. They were pinging it all over the place without much effect against UAE but this time corners should pose more dangers.

In the last two matches, Australia won against Jordan and UAE. Australia's gameplay was good enough. But I don't think Australia can win against Peru. The Peruvian team is strong enough. They also have a strong squad to win against teams like Colombia, Ecuador and Paraguay. So Australia's goal should be to share points with Peru.

I agree with you Peru is not an easy team for Australia.
Teams from Latin America have good skills, unlike teams from Middle East countries, I believe Peru will probably get full points against Australia.
