On Slush the last Namecoin that was processed was at block 41647 on 2018-01-12 10:28.
According to coinmarketcap.com the highest price of Namecoin around that time was $7.93 on 2018-01-13 14:24, but a week after this the price was already below $5 and another week later it was below $4.

Yeah, they didn't live up to the promises they made about NMC. But a lot of other pools did not even offer the option to merge mine NMC. And the last time I calculated a whole year of merged mining NMC was worth as much as one day of mining Bitcoin.

I'm not even going to bother to claim my NMC, so I really don't understand why you are being so angry about it.

It's like selling something for 73.25 and then going completely bananas when you find out they gave you 73 dollars and a nickel instead of a quarter.

I was trying to go off memory about the price. even at $7 a coin to pay people now when its 40 cents a coin is a slap in the face, regardless of whether it is a nickle or a thousand bucks.

I am not angry, I am always happy Smiley - I just dont like liars. a lot of people lost money when they pulled that shell game with the huge miner with his bs firmware. they should have pulled back all they paid him and paid ot to the legitimate miners who lost out - the miner never found a single block but took the bulk of all incoming btc from those who actually did.

If you provide them a NMC address they will send you your accumulated NMC.

But if you haven't mined at Slush for a very long time this won't be much anyway.
So not sure why you are making such a fuss about it and are calling them bastards.

I have had a NMC address in there since 2018 - I used to mine there a lot. but after a year of seeing that the merged mining was not being paid out (when they stopped right before NMC peaked at $10 to $13 a coin) so the reward can be substantial to some.  I asked and was told that it would be a few weeks to get it paid out, after 2 months, I asked again and was given another date. After that, I stopped mining there.  Since then they have said numerous times that they were going to pay it out. I am curious what does an exchange have to do with paying out the rewards to the miners? If there is a lack of accepting exchanges, that affects the miners not Slush. So that is another bullshit answer.

Even a year ago it was over a dollar a coin - now its under 40 cents a coin. So, they probably kept/sold all the NMC when it worth something, and now that it isnt, they will just buy enough to pay everyone their "rewards" meanwhile doing so they made a profit.

I understand that merged mining is just a benefit and all but when a company promises it, shows you the rewards you should be getting but then never gives it, that makes them liars and the fact that they lie makes them bastards. At least to me.

Not to mention that whole fiasco with the mining company who had hack firmware that was on the pool getting tons of payouts and when it was identified their firmware was bullshit and no good and never found a block - they allowed them to keep all the rewards they were paid out - when they should have in fact made them pay it back and then distributed it to those that were actually mining to the benefit of the pool.

Well, here you go:

Dear miners,

As you might know, we have been merged mining Namecoin (NMC) for several years. However, due to exchanges delisting it and a general lack of liquidity, it has become infeasible for us to exchange NMC for BTC in order to add it to your payouts.

Therefore, we have decided to send the accumulated NMC reward directly to any users who provide an NMC wallet address to claim their reward during the next two months. We apologize for the inconvenience this causes, but we feel it’s better than not distributing the NMC proceeds at all.

Moving forward, we will stop distributing NMC rewards due to the aforementioned reasons. We will reconsider this decision in the event that NMC becomes substantially more valuable in the future, but for the time being, we will begin using NMC merged mining revenue to support our open-source projects such as Braiins OS and Stratum V2 that bring benefits to the whole mining community.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.

yep. I have seen that message or similar before - once here on this thread about a year and half ago. I havent mined slush in very long but just for spite those bastards can sure as hell pay me the NMC if nothing else just so they dont have it.

I am still waiting to see slush pay out the merged mining they stopped more than 2 years ago.

Over a year ago, they stated it would be done in a matter of weeks.

That does very little for those that get their NMC now when it is pretty worthless - when Slush stopped the payout NMC was over $10 a coin, my guess is that is why Slush stopped the payouts. They instead kept it. And may eventually pay it out - when it is maybe even more worthless than it is now.

A question. I show 3 hits for blocks (from hardware specs on data hall on this machine) on www.slushpool.org on my ONE Bitmain S9i unit I've run for maybe 6 months.

In that Slushpool Merge mines....these are likely NOT Bitcoin blocks, right? Or are they simply blocks I hit with others I happened to be mining with?

Just curious if they are actually Bitcoin Blocks hit on this machine. IF so I've used up all my luck in my life and may expire soon from a meteorite strike.

Again, the machine itself at the data hall only states 'blocks found'

thanks

Searing

Well slush may merge mine and keep those coins. NMC would be one of a possible few.  But if you hit 3 NMC blocks it would still be a lot of blocks as NMC diff is pretty high.

This actually worked now! I had tried this a year ago and it wouldn't send me a reset mail. Now I'm back to my old 2011 account. Thanks and happy mining!!!

Hi there,

I have been away from mining for a longer time. I opened a new account but was wondering if my original account "disclaimer201" still exists somewhere at Slush? I think I lost it and access to it when the pool website switched to the new design.

If it's gone okay, but it would be nice if there was some way to retrieve it. On top of the fun, I also discontinued using my old mail address, but I could reactivate it just for the purpose of recovering the account, if possible.

Thanks, happy new year 2020 to everyone and good luck mining to all!

I'm curious about something. I a mining ONE Bitmain S9i on www.slushpool.com and my buddy at the data hall

said I found a block. This is likely a block from 'merge mining' right, some other coin besides BTC? Curious, if I missed out on the

BTC Lottery option is all Smiley

It's possible that your S9 did find a block on slushpool, but its just PPLNS so there is no special reward for finding one.

In the old interface they used to show any blocks that you found, but I can't see it in the new one.

No i don't think the merge mining even when it finds a block in the altcoins getting the "free hashrate" gets that info back to the miner, very likely you found a Bitcoin block, all 12.5 would have been yours if it was solo, but alas that cannot be Smiley

Are you using Bitmain's firmware or did you switch to Braiins OS?

you may want to look into other pools atm - slush is not paying their merged mining (going on 2 years) and their luck is take a turn for the worse
