I have been mining on slush for long and has never seen this much unluckiness.
Any one has any idea why slushpool luck has dropped so bad in past few weeks?
Last 250 blocks luck shows around 90%
Network hashrate dropped, difficulty dropped, so our luck should have gained right?
I really like slushpool and braiins team and dont want to migrate to other pools, but with this luck and the market decline it gets me to think about pools with PPLNS/PPS+ options.
The luck is not bad historically speaking. I've been through 45% luck periods. If you leave the pool now guess what will happen, the luck will return right as you leave
- it's the nature of luck, it's totally random.
45% luck for last 250 blocks?
And have you ever seen last 250 with 155% to recover that bad luck?
Since I have been mining on slush I have never seen last 250 luck goes higher than 105% and its been over two or three weeks that our luck has turned its back on us
Seems like "Stan Lee's Lucky Man" lucky bracelet has turned black
Edit:
Network hashrate dropped, difficulty dropped previously and will drop in 4 days, but just because there are fewer miners competing for the block reward doesn't mean that each miner is more likely to solve a block than before. Your chances of solving a block will once again be purely random. What does increase in this scenario is your total reward per block - ie you get a bigger chunk of the block reward and thus make more btc.
If I'm wrong on this hopefully someone will correct me.
PPLNS will not help with your luck woes, only PPS will. If you cannot stomach the variance then move to a PPS pool and pay a higher fee or forsake the block fees (like Antpool).
Thanks for the added/edited info,
I was thinking when less miners mines and thus less hashrate competing to solve a block then we have higher chance to solve it as slush hashrate not dropped as much as the whole network.
As I said before I like slush pretty much and for sure not gonna leave it to join Antpool
