If you are newbie, I would recommend FuturoCoin to you. You can check their policy, which is really friendly to beginners. They have constant contact with their community so every issue is clear. That was my first altcoin in which I invested and I need to say that I'm satisfied. It seems promising to me.

At the moment it is best to invest in the most top altcoins, so this is the most proven and reliable option for investment and therefore I would recommend you to invest in eth, xrp, eos, tron and bnb, for me these altcoins are a very good option for investment.
You can not be 100% sure that this is the best option. If you look at which coins were in the top 20 a few years ago, you will understand how quickly leaders in this market can be changed. similarly, some undervalued coins can now be leaders in the future. just important to diversify your money

My choice is Etherium,Litecoin,Ripple and two any promising coins from top-100 such as Monero,Dash,Waves,Aion,Doge,Komodo,Monaco,Enjin and etc.

I would exclude Litecoin (Charlie he sold on highs and bought a bank - I don't believe such a Lee anymore), Ripple (scam),   from the list, Waves,Aion,Doge,Komodo,Monaco,Enjin - I know nothing about these coins.

From the whole list, I trust only Monero - really decentralized and confidential coin, real - not a fork.

You have already diamond coin (bitcoin). Why you want to buy other gold or silver coins? Let your portfolio of bitcoin be. But as you said that you are willing to expand your portfolios of coins, you can buy other good coins. There are many good investment like ripple, tron, BNB etc. But my suggestion is that you can keep a certain portion of your bitcoin, and exchange a certain portion with other good coins.

There is no point in choosing so many coins for your investment as it is a better idea and decision to keep the good one only. Bitcoin should be the first priority and effort, Litecoin, Ethereum and Monero should the few later choices. These are my four suggestions for every investor not to spread your money more than 3 or maximum 4 sources because you might be getting out of control in handling them.

As u said. Privacy coins are becoming more and more popular. many rich people do not want their assets to be exposed. therefore, the trading volume of private currencies will become larger and larger, and their upside is also very large. I like ZEC. It has the best privacy technology.

A piece of advice I think it is good to stay and to invest at bitcoin and don't find another alternative coin to invest. Why? Because all we know that bitcoin is the most popular crypto in whole world. And imagine it can stay alive for 10years even there are so many fall on it's price. So we can say that bitcoin is strong crypto so there is no reason to find another investment.
If you want to invest safely, choosing a coin that is ranked in the top 10 in coinmarketcap can be a good choice. That way our investment will be much safer because we get a belief. Unlike coins which do not have popularity, investing in coins has a high risk because we do not know the coin development specifically and there are still few people who review the coin. So if you want to get things that are more certain and much easier then investing in coins is popular because it already has strong community support.

If you are a beginner, I think it's safer to buy coins that are already on the Exchange. As the top 10 coins in the coinmarketcap and this is much safer and can make a profit for you. You can buy ETH, XRP. BNB, Stellar and Cardano, some of these coins, in my opinion, are very good for generating profits and good for long-term investments.

Bitcoin and Ethereum must be in every investment portfolio of every investor.  But this does not mean that altcoins are not an option for investment. Many altcoins has very good prospects for further development and price growth.

I see that most people are interested in holding coins that already have a history that is several years long.

What about new coins? Perhaps there are hidden pearls

Well, right before investing, you should do the analysis as carefully as possible in addition to input from all of your friends, just analyze the top coins in cmc, but I don't recommend you join the event, but it's up to you because it's someone's right

The head of Binance during the hacking behaved very worthy. I liked that he refused external aid, and I liked the fact that a reserve for such cases was formed. I think - bnb is a good choice

BNB is one of the coin to wartch fo in the coming bull run, they are strong and they can go up. Altcoins have a better chance to go all out to the up in 2020, they are quiet dump for a long time now and I think they really have to go pump. I do love to hold ETH and BNB in the until the next peak.

If indeed you are interested in a long-term investment and can get a bonus every month, of course you can hold some coins produced by the biggest exchanges such as BNBs and others and there are also some cheap coins that you can last a term like PUNDIX they give snapshoot every month but right now I don't know the progress, please pay attention to developments at CMC.
