500? definitely it's a little for coins! you better focus on promising ISO. I think there you will find your coin which will bring you riches.

Well i there are many altcoins in the market to invest. And if you need a suggestion i advise you to invest in cheap altcoins and those altcoins below 1 USD is definitely good just like ripple, neo and other cheap altcoins. And wait for your 500 USD to get high in the time that crypto market is strong or you can wait for some years for it to grow more. There are still more rooms to grow for this cheap altcoins.

Split it between a few different ones.
Devide $500 to 5 parts and invest 100$ in 5 different new alts just come out to IDEX from "high" rated ICOs on icodrops and trading near ICO price. That coins have big chances to be listed on big Exchanges and make x2-x3 in near future
Dividing $500 to 5 coins was not preferable, why don't you think to find a better altcoins in the ICO which can give 5x to 10 times profit when it will be listed in market. If you have a bigger capital then you can gain a bigger profit. So what's the point you have to divide your money that it will turns out into draw or something you will earn money but lesser or you losing your money that bigger?
Market is all red now. And it is like this for about last 5 months. So i can say that if you want to invest now you have very good price advantage. You can check blockchain projects like wanchain.

It is best to divide the investment into several parts. First of all, you need to invest in eth. Then you can invest in ADA, IOTA, TRX. You can also invest in some altcoins from the top 100.
I advise you to invest in ETH. Now the price for this coin is low and by the end of the year you can get a good profit.
You need to do your own research and not trust wholly what the so called experts are saying. I had had the misfortune of taking some recommendations from online polls and ended up losing money. When you pick peoples suggestions on coins,you are not sure how much they bought,people will naturally suggest what they currently hold in their portfolios. So, its better to do your research and pick your coins
$ 500 amount is suitable for investment on altcoin and especially investment in ripple and I think ripple coin is good for long term investment and will benefit in the future

I think investing in ethereum is enough and you can get almost 1 ethereum. I see that ethereum is good for searching a profit because the price always increases and decrease at any times. so if you can always check the ethereum price, I think you can make a good profit and even you can increase your balance. but if you can hold it for a long time, I am sure that your profit will bigger because ethereum can increase and back to the highest price again in the long run.
I would divide $ 100 and put them into five different perspective in my opinion altcoins.
