I do suggest to invest in bitcoin itself, because of 2 reason, youve got the assurance that the value will be good within a year frame unlike the alts if you invest to a particular coin then you need to wait for a long period of time to have an earnings.
Telcoin is very good, I have read some of his white papers, the project looks very promising, $600 investment I think you can buy some other coins, such as BTM, FT

The great problem is that a few years ago 600 dollars could have bought a lot of bitcoin but now 600 dollars do not even buy you 0.1BTC and that is a big problem for many since they want to multiply their investment and bitcoin can offer them that but it cannot give the profits that it gave in the past, so people are trying to invest in altcoins to try to get a greater amount of profits than what bitcoin can give.
Too many altcoins in where you can invest at the moment, and it is more than difficult to only choose one of them, but i would go for Stellar, cardano, neo, eos, and ethereum of course. you can diversify as much as you can in all of them

Spread it out. You have way more chance of getting bigger roi by spreading it out over good projects instead of going all in on one. Look at the suggestions given and choose the projects you like most.

You need to research what the technology behind the currency is that makes it proprietary. Of course the best option will be buy the cheapest coins, from your suggestion better option should be telcoin, price is low and potencial is big. But in my opinion there is more better coins than you chose e.g. eos
It is not a good idea but $600 is not so much money, you can try it, if you are very lucky maybe you can make it $6000. Buying other coins like ethereum, lisk, 0x etc would be better idea.
