ok sorry i only have 400 on bittrez and 1400 in my wallet
Setup some masternodes and stake some, will generate you small steady incomes, and if the project/coin takes off, who knows what your coins will be worth in the future?
You can run all your nodes remotely if you dont have resources to run them on your computer.
XQNPOSFUND recently launched our remote masternode hosting service, where the coins are in your cold storage wallet and the active node runs empty on our servers.
This would help both the project itself and you for the longer term.

This is the bitcointalk, not an exchange. However, your offer will sound interesting if you add at least two trailing zeros at qty val you wanna sell. So, go to the bittrex (yobit or whatever), buy 39600 8bits, then bumb your ad here.

Hi,
Anyone running a "controller" wallet to start multiple masternodes?
Tried this guide from DNET, but 8bit client crashes for some reason.

Have tried this in controller wallet, and wallet gets Runtime error:
MN1 xxx.xx.xx.xx:9998 MASTERNODEPRIVKEY TRANSACTIONHASH 1(index)

MN1 xxx.xx.xx.xx:9998 MASTERNODEPRIVKEY
"TRANSACTIONHASH" : "1"

Where is my error/s?
Thank you,

IW

Step 1: From the very begining, on your laptop in the console enter "masternode genkey" twice, and enter
"getaccountaddress MN1" and "getaccountaddress MN2", the MN1 and MN2 could be substituted with any name
you would like to call the masternode addresses.

Step 2: Send 10k DNET to each of the addresses generated in step 1, making sure to send exactly 10k, in
one transaction to each. Now, execute "masternode outputs" in the console of your laptop wallets.

Step 3: Open the masternode.conf file in the data directory of your laptop's wallet and edit it. In one
line for each masternode follow this format: ALIAS IP:51472 MASTERNODEPRIVKEY TRANSACTIONHASH INDEX. The
ALIAS can be anything you want it to be, but for simplicities sake it may be best to use the name you used
for the wallet addresses, MN1 and MN2 in this example. The IP is the IP where the masternode wallet can be
found. the MASTERNODEPRIVKEY is the output from the command "masternode genkey" you entered earlier.
The TRANSACTIONHASH and INDEX are the output you received when you executed "masternode outputs" earlier.

Step 4: Open the darknet.conf file in the data directory of the controller wallet, again, on the laptop in
this example, Modify the contents to match this:
rpcuser=long random username
rpcpassword=longer random password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=0
server=1
daemon=1
logtimestamps=1
maxconnections=256

Step 5: Close the wallet and restart it.

Step 6: Open the darknet.conf file in the data directory of one of your masternode wallets, on a RPi in this
example. modify the contents of the file to look like this:
rpcuser=long random username
rpcpassword=longer random password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
logtimestamps=1
maxconnections=256
masternode=1
masternodeprivkey=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Replacing the username and password with your own, and replacing the Xs with the masternode private key that
corresponds to the masternode alias you would like for this masternode.

Step 7: Close and restart that wallet.

Step 8: repeat steps 5 and 6 for the other masternode wallet, the other RPi in this example.

Final step: Now, both of your masternodes are setup, you just need to start them, you will do this with the
controlling wallet on your laptop. Open the console of the controlling wallet and enter "masternode start-many"
you should get an output something like this:
{
    "overall" : "Successfully started 2 masternodes, failed to start 0, total 2",
    "detail" : {
        "status" : {
            "alias" : "mn1",
            "result" : "successful"
        },
        "status" : {
            "alias" : "mn2",
            "result" : "successful"

skidog, thank you!

Anyone else?  Anyone here have coding, web design, mobile app building experience, gaming contacts, business contacts, etc, etc? And a need to see this thing we call 8bit explode into tons of wealth?!  I may be a stakeholder here, and I am... But, there really is plenty of value here if we can all just get this ball rolling...

8bit blockchain, as of 1-27-16, can be downloaded at cryptochainer.com

This one can be a bit difficult to get fully synchronized.

Who did not withdraw his 8bits from Cryptsy?

i got some stuck on crypsty    98.34480000 8BIT   Yes   2015-08-02 12:52:38 not much but would still like them.. talked to mullick he said he would resend then lock wallet ... i think he just locked the wallet and didnt resend
Any thoughts on the next phase of 8 bit..... Anything?

I second this!!  I'm still around, still masternoding, staking, and running the faucet... I'd love to see some planning, I'd love to either get our dev working on something, or find someone who has the time to take over.
(And, 8-bit-party, I'm not ripping on you there, if you've got the time/motivation, let's rock this! Nothing but love/respect for ya...)

I'd love to be discussing new features, new directions, new partnerships in the gaming community, and a new plan with motivated folks in this community... The holidays are well over, it's a new year, and we still have quite the opportunity with this coin if we choose to take it.

Soooo, I'm suggesting this, either here, PM, email ([email protected]), whatever we decide we're comfortable with... Let's get a clear picture of who our leadership and stakeholders in the community are, and start a regular actual meeting... Early on, I'd like to determine the following:
  • Obviously, who our current players are, and in what rolls
  • what we each have to offer as far as time/effort
  • what connections we might be able to bring on-board to aid in this endeavour, and at what cost
  • start roadmapping specific goals and milestones
  • timeframes we can absolutely BOTH commit to and live with for those goals

I've seen this community accomplish great things in the past, AND I believe there is still amazing potential here.  If we can pull ourselves together as a community once again, and really commit to some organization, time, and effort, the potential here is absolutely amazing!
Anyone with me?  Want to start hammering on this on the regular, and see if we can't build something great, making ourselves rich along the way??

Let's start with a means of communication... Who's in? and how do we want to meet? (as in what medium, I don't care if it's hangouts, skype, IRC, or telegram!!)

I lost like 300 when they closed the 8bit wallet in the first place a few months ago... Ran a deposit the night before, it never showed up, they locked the wallet, and basically ignored my support requests... I liked cryptsy too.  Bastards. ;p
