Update: I've posted in the Marketplace section for a dev who can fork Dash: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/developer-needed-to-clone-dash-for-8bit-coin-1165190

I know there are some devs from large coins who do contract work but they might be expensive, any thoughts on this?

I also messaged the exchanges about the coin swap idea, it seems like this is the way everyone wants to go.

OK, I have to signoff today.

I would suggest now, we try to find a dev who can fork Dash for us with the latest version, and set the 8BIT emission / rewards.  If we can fund that, to get a working 8BIT system on the latest Dash code, then we can get the exchanges to do the coin swap, and burn the remainder.  With Dash's code and the blockchain funding system in place, we can then fund further development from the blockchain, with proposals / voting by masternode operators...

That's if everyone wants to do that.  But I think anything is on the table if it get's 8BIT system stable...reminder of the discussion thread for this: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/8bit-restart-thread-1164488

Cheers

Tinkles

No. It means you have to move on.

Their terms are more than reasonable, so take some time off and consider your position.

Its good to see that the ball is being picked up where 8-bit-Party dropped it.

Orested, I saw your posts here before, and I've added you to the list of suggested Board members for the 8BIT restart, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/8bit-restart-thread-1164488.

Much appreciated

I have updated the thread in the alt section to become the 'Restart thread' Cheesy

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/8bit-restart-thread-1164488

Please let's get a plan together there about the steps we will take now to get 8BIT back on track.

I say fuck him...

But if the community wills his presence going forward, I promise to not set him off.

I am not going to join any community where you either you or masteretarded are present.

Ok, thank you for making the decision easy.

The dev says niki25 is managing it...please PM him and he should add you: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/niki25-215913

Wouldn't it be better to create a new slack and exclude 8-bit-party?

I don't think we need to create any conflict and crypto is always a P2P effort.  I just PM'd with 8bit party and he said he is fine with this.  He did good work to get the new website, github etc online and he has taken the coin to this point.  He just doesn't want to do much development right now for whatever reason.  If he will work with us and help us to get 8BIT off the ground now, we all benefit.  I think that would be the best way, he has been honest with me today and is helping us.  Lets give him a chance to help 8BIT transition now...?

But like he said there are other issues here and reasons he doesn't want to develop now (MTR etc..), so having him on 'the board' is a good idea, because he has knowledge and experience that can help.  It just means he won't be designated as the main dev, which I don't think he wants anyway, it would be a team effort instead.

8BIT party, is this correct - is this way forward ok with you?

I have no problems with this...  If he's not holding the reins,  his presence could help us all...

Does that mean we're sticking with the existing slack?  (which one should I request?)

You are still missing the point.
We all are bagholders and need a new investors who will buy our coins.
Why would anyone buy our coins, just because we are merged mined with other blake (or whatever) coins? Go buy Photon, 4 litoshi.
Slack headquaters is a good idea. Did you know we have one? None of you attended nor even asked how to join.

8BIT currently we have the syncing problem so it's horrible to use the wallet.  It puts off new investors.  If we clone Dash and coin swap, we fix that real quick - and also have funding available from miners to build functions we want on top of a fully working system.  We could import the new Dash changes too later as we go.

Maybe we should use your existing slack then?  There are at least 6 people here now serious about taking 8Bit forward, it would be great if we can work together and get 8BIT off the ground now.

Being merge mineable won't entice people to buy.

But it does secure the network and help with distribution.

BlueDragon747 is the most professional dev in crypto.  Really knows what he's doing.

Plus, they are developing a MMO with the latest UNITY engine.  Check it out.

I would love to see 8-bit go blake-256.  I know blue is too busy to develop 8bit, but he and the other devs are incredibly welcoming and helpful.

But really any merge-mineable situation is the best...  allows the dev to focus on features rather than the network.

Thanks for the headsup on Blake, not seen it before, looks interesting. This is their MMO I think https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YPMtm02aag

My thought was to just clone Dash first basically - then having a smoothly syncing / working system would give people more confidence, and attract new developers to build the unique 8BIT functiosn on top of the Dash code, that could be paid from the funding system.  But I guess this is stuff we need to flesh out.
