Maybe he is just one example that has come to the surface after dozens and even hundreds of people who have done the same thing, nowadays most gamblers choose the suicide option not because they lose, but if we explore their motives further then maybe debt is their main reason commit suicide.

The potential for debt due to gambling can honestly be a bigger factor and not only burdens yourself but sometimes the family also has a bad impact, as in happen in my friend, chronologically he only owed someone $100 on New Year Eve only for play cards with some friends and it turns out he forgot to pay the debt within the specified time limit, so in the end his debt, which was originally $100, actually increased to reach $500 due to the interest on the debt, even though when he owed the debt there was no agreement regarding the interest on the debt and of course he didn't have enough money to pay it and kept asking for time so making his debts get bigger, after he kept getting threats because he couldn't pay and he started to look depressed by looking gloomy and kept locking himself in his room, which aroused suspicion from his family so they were able to prevent him from doing to suicide and told everything to his family, until finally his family sold their only motorbike to pay their son debt.
From this experience I started to think that gambling actually causes a lot of problems noy just for us but also for our families.

Losing is a bad feeling, people react to it differently and it depends on how big the loss is and how much it meant to the person Losing it.

I feel bad for the family and close people of this person,  it is very difficult to lose someone close to suicide. We can't blame anyone for committing suicide because we don't really know what are the true reasons that pushed them to do such act. Now $3k is a big number it could've meant a lot to him as well.
We known that Gamblers can do crazy things when they lose especially when the losses keeps coming consecutively, this person might have reacted in a moment of rage leading him to put an end to his own life.
 It is very sad and unfortunate, life is worth more than $3k to be honest. This could be a lesson for other gamblers to be more aware of their own actions and learn how to control themselves in moments like this, and especially to learn how to gamble and to never put an amount of money in betting that you can't afford losing.

$3k is quite a lot of money but I don’t think that it is enough for someone to take their life. Are we sure that the money was actually his? Could it be that he couldn’t face the owner of the money? Although it is challenging sometimes when we play gamble with huge amount of money and yet the game does play. But ending ones life is neither the solution to it. Life is so precious to die for gambling, let us not play gamble and forget that we can do without gambling. It is a painful expirenced we should not try. I am so angry seing this image, because it look so fake to be real. but the sad truth is that he has passed on. What a world where people don't know what they want or the reason behind their existence. We should be more careful in staking what we can't afford to lose. And this is just the typical example.

Actually this is not the one news we will find a lot of news like this in every year. I have read one article that there mention that 17% gambler addicted gambler have attempt sui*cide. Even then in my neighbourhood I saw kind of same thing of this news. There the addicted gambler also take his life because he got into a large debts and he knows that he can afford that and that is why he also attempted suici*de. That's why I always suggest that take a look about your afford then go for gambling as much as you can afford to loose.

Gamblers can't control themselves when they lose, so they become addicted to winning and focus on gambling again and again, causing them to lose money. Many people may think that they will earn money overnight by gambling but this is not the case. If luck favors many, of course they can earn money by gambling. By living, the thought of making money by gambling should be removed and everyone should be against gambling, so that the society and family will be better.

Even many think gambling is free money but still its risky and all can't hold this all with I personally have many times incidents like these while we check peoples have heart-attack or other serious problems due to big loses in gambling because they were over-confident about their win and at the end they lost big amount which hurt them badly.

You're right,in my own opinion the reason why some people end up killing themself all in the name of gambling is because, probably if you place a bet and the potential wining is 16m as the case may be.maybe is just remaining only one game for you to win the 16m,and you went for cash out and they showed you a cash out of 9m, and you refuse not  to cash the game out, hoping that the remaining one will play unlike the way you expected.on the contrary the remaining game failed what will become of you?that is the reason why some people end up killing themself,some people end up commiting suicide.

Suicide is not the solution if you're in such situation (not just in gambling but all problems that seems hard to resolve).
