Well, that is just normal because not everybody is interested or open-minded to the fact that there are other ways to pay for services or items being bought. It must be rewarding for some to be taught about the Cryptocurrency Industry because as we all know, Bitcoin is really used and really profitable once learnt about. We just need to be open-minded and don't be boastful about the knowledge that he have.

I don't think that they are ignoring it, they are not just aware that crypto currencies exist. If you go to our place, where people are mostly farmers, you can't say that they are not interested or open-minded to it, they not just aware of the technologies that exist these days. They are not updated on what is new and what will be the new thing in the near future, they can't even use a computer nor use their phones to its full capabilities. All they know is that they can call and text through it.

I hada client too here in Denmark - She had no clue of Bitcoing or crypto at all, even when I tried to explain it to her... And she is working in a bank..

So ? She must be woman in age or not interested in cryptocurrency. Working in bank doesnt mean person must know everything about the services bank provide, banking system and etc. Bank employee must know everything about his duties and area he works in, and know overall information about the bank superficially.

You know, there are janitors or taxi drivers who knows everything about anything, and still they are not on highly paid position.

Campaign Management?"Hhampuz" is the Man
Let the title take the prize for being the result of a survey of only two people.
yeah and that is an insult to tell about all american when he only handled 2 clients that has no knowledge of Bitcoin and ethereum.

The fact that your perception leads you to that title, does not mean that it really is so, it is quite possible that it is the opposite, rare, but it is more likely that people do not know that it is a cryptocurrency but they do know what bitcoin is. .
Maybe there is a need about proofs first before He posted that,at least some researches or survey to prove this concern.

2017-; specifically December was the year of free advertising for bitcoin. Even a program like that of Ellen Degeneres (feb, 2018) not only commented on the news but gave it more than a minute, do you know how much that time can cost for any company? bitcoin got it for free.

Not to mention that 2018 in its first third continued to be world news.
I have not watched this episode of Ellen but if does?considering that this is the most famous talk show in the world now because Oprah has already leave the scene.

~snip~

I was just trying to say, that modern technologies are not used widely on the whole territory of US. People dont know about Bitcoin not only because they dont have a proper device to run an app on it, but alto due to low interest in Bitcoin as such.

There are still people who prefer to use cash over credit cards (even if this dont improve or affect their credit score), they wont even bother using  Bitcoin, even if this makes their payments quicker or easier. It is like soviet grandpas and grandmas, who prefer to immediately withdraw pension from debit card or wait for a postman to bring pension money in cash.

Some just attach to a mobile with NFC to terminal, most prefer cash. Everything is in "head". It is more preferable to hold money in hands, than have something virtual on account.

It is no surprise that a very big chunk of the global population did not heard about cryptocurrencies and possibly heard about Bitcoin but that's it. No one heard of Ethereum or waves or Tron or wallets or Binance etc etc. So small that we have a forum and all of us are here talking about many things about blockchain and bitcoin. I bet maybe the whole number of members here on this forum would not exceed a hundred thousand user accounts. So it might still small and already it is making waves around the world. So wait a decade or two before this balloons to the moon.

I never doubt it.

The fact that a lot of people are not accepting it means that only a few of them use it. If a lot of people are using it obviously people will consider to accept it. It will just be a ripple effect and time will pass we will not be noticing it that Bitcoin is a mainstream way of paying things online or maybe, I hope, offline. It takes time, good things comes for those who wait.

I had two clients from America I want offer graphics designing jobs for, I demanded my payment would be in BitcoinBTC or Ethereum. To my greatest dismay, they were dumfounded on what Bitcoin or Ethereum is. I am still suprised up to this very moment. Cheesy Roll Eyes

You are surprised that they don't know what Bitcoin is? And do you think it every there that deals with the internet , work or get updates on currencies. Haven't you seen people who work nature or schedule do not even permit to know what going on around. Some might have even heard about Bitcoin but not pay attention to it. While some already concluded it's for internet fraud stars so they have nothing to do with it.
There still many people out there who don't know about bitcoin or ethereum or another coin because they still use fiat money to transact and they use fiat to buy they want.
Maybe we still need to introduce crypto among them so they can know that now, another payment option is available and they can try to use crypto as the payment or for the investment.
That will be different if that person has a big curiosity about the new thing. They will search for more info about that, and sometimes, they will spend their time exploring how to get involved in that thing.

You should know that less than 1 % of the entire population in the world knows about Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency in general. You shouldn't be surprised when you see a lot of Americans have no knowledge about Bitcoin. In my country, less than 0.5% of the entire population have sufficient knowledge about Bitcoin and less than half of these people actually have enough idea about the entire crypto space.  Entire world is yet to know Bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem.

There is nothing to be surprised. Still there are a lot of people around the world even did not hear about Bitcoin and American people are no different of course. Even those who heard about bitcoin to them it's a scheme or something which will pop up soon.

We are sill in the early stage of bitcoins.
Yep, it's not that big of a surprise really. Most probably, since it's America, they have heard about it once or twice but they didn't really paid attention to it that's why it didn't stick to their mind and don't have knowledge about crypto.

Other countries around the world have citizens that do not know about bitcoin yet, or maybe they really choose not to know about it. But still, let's hope that more people will be encouraged to know and be part of crypto, and eventually, mass adoption.

I have a certain assumption why this is exactly what happens in America. maybe my opinion is wrong, because this is only an assumption. The fact is that in most cases, those who are looking for extra money on the Internet know about cryptocurrency, and therefore always face investments in cryptocurrency, trading cryptocurrency and airdrops to earn cryptocurrency. and as a rule, these are people who have very low annual incomes to live comfortably. For the most part, these are the poor. In addition, large investors know about cryptocurrency, who are always looking for alternative types of investments, where there are opportunities to make good profits. the same situation with professional traders. By the way, crypto enthusiasts are generally a special category. Residents of America in most cases have not only social guarantees, but also adequate financial support, if they have a good job. In addition, America is very different from the countries of central Europe in Eastern Europe and Asia, where most of the population lives below the poverty line and themselves are looking for any opportunity to make a profit. That is why people are looking for and finding cryptocurrency. And the Americans do not have enough information.

There is nothing to be surprised about, just because you know about cryptocurrency doesn’t mean that everyone is going to know about it. Most of my clients that I worked, I wasn’t even the one that suggested the Bitcoin to them, they are the ones who ask me whether I accept Bitcoin as payment and then I would say yes. I always let them use any payment method I feel they are going to be okay with, and it’s mostly PayPal that a lot of people make use of, only very few have talked about Bitcoin. And as for Ethereum, I don’t see any single person that uses that lol.

Unlike most other people do imagine, not all Americans are leading a luxurious life style to get know and to adopt all the latest technologies and innovations. As of June 2020, there are 21 million American are jobless and applying for government benefits. So, there should not be any mandatory for all Americans to be aware of bitcoin nor cryptos.

Probably, their country does lack of promotion that's why they are ignorant about the existence of cryptocurrency,
seriously? what about those guys that we saw holding btc sign boards on the streets  . so many of those pics caught on different streets . there are also crypto that are televised on tv such as on bloomberg and other more . i dont think they lack of promotion  .

it is just easy as that. If the government promotes the use of cryptocurrency freely and inform the people how it works then Americans could achieve mass adoption in Bitcoin easily. I know that it is not that easy to do that, but it takes a lot of process before the people to understand how bitcoin works.
its not easy because i dont think a government will do that . why will they promote btc anyway  . its not thier job to do that . they can only allow or disallow it and thats it .  btc/crypto arent hard to learn , if people know how to use a paypal before , why not they cant use a crypto now

It should've all start with the government. Not only Americans or US citizens who are not that knowledgeable about bitcoin. In some other rural areas in every country, they are not the introduced in the use of digital currency due to the lack of knowledge about advancement of technology. Once the bitcoin achieve mass adoption, transactions will become faster and more secured, just like what the OP wants to be paid.

there are loads of interiors where people still get limited informations. Even though it is america, there is also some areas there where people have access to incomplete information and therefore they prioritize the informations that concerns their sustenance alone and careless about the global occurences. this is one of the reasons why we need people that will go about sensitising them on the latest technological innovations and blockchain technology to be particular

Not early surprising here in our neighbor 9 out of ten people do not have an idea what Bitcoin is 4 out of 10 have read or heard about it but do not know what it's all about, this technology is still young and our generation has a huge task to promote and introduce this technology, we are lucky that we are already here and benefiting from this technology.

That sounds hilarious but saying Americans is just an understatement, as a bigger part of the global have never heard of Bitcoin, let alone knowing its functions and benefits to the global economy.
Awareness needs to be created for the global recognition of Bitcoin to take place.

According to statista.com, only 70-80% of United States adults have a pc a laptop. Not all of them are even connected to the Internet, and some just use them simply for minesweeper or to do basic work with documents. No wonder that with population close to 330 billions, there are people who dont know what Bitcoin is.
That is why bitcoin needs longer to be known by the people, so they can use bitcoin as what we did.
We can still introduce bitcoin to people who don't know about bitcoin, but we don't need to force them to learn more or use bitcoin if they don't want it because that will make them hate bitcoin.
Even if people connect to the internet, if they don't search for more information about bitcoin, they will not know, and they will skip the information that they found on many websites.
We can invite them to learn about bitcoin, and maybe we need to use another approach that can make them have an interest in bitcoin.
