Well in this space everything is so possible,i say possible because things you have never imagined would surprisingly come up,  but in my thoughts, I don't think the facebook altcoin will be the rival to bitcoin. Bitcoin is about decentralization. And also the bitcoin has already proven its identity and importance to the crypto world.

This cryptocurrency can certainly be a success but true fans of the crypto world should be wary of it. I would not compare it and put it on a par with bitcoin.

yes, this libra is not a rival for bitcoin
because, as i knew libra is stable coin,
so, we can't comparing a stable coins with bitcoin my friend
always remember the stable coins value will always same in usd terms right ?

I just like that Libra is a crypto coin, so make sure it makes a lot of people know about this market. And that's what needs to make this market grow to a new level, much more than in 2017

I think that this cryptocurrency will be successful only in the first time of its existence. Since it will not be anonymous and decentralized. For many people, this crypto currency will be a step through which they will step into the crypto-currency industry and get acquainted with much promising projects.

Bitcoin is the future
July 04, 2019, 03:26:14 AM
Libracoin is another shitcoin IMO, another centralised coin, there is no way it is going to compete with bitcoin. The only good thing about it, is that it will give noobs a glimpse of what cryptocurrencies are, and they may eventually get to know bitcoin better. Bitcoin will remain the optimus primus.

Libra won't be competing with Bitcoin. Just as the US dollar or the Euro is not competing with gold.
Yes, there is allocations from the first to the latter and vice versa, but they have totally different applications and use cases in the world.
I agree with you that Libra coin does not compete with Bitcoin, because in my opinion it will maximize Facebook as a social media that has very many members, for payment or trade transactions using crypto coins of its own.
In addition, the Facebook platform will be augmented with financial business features that reach the entire world, where transactions can take place in minutes. Very prospective in my opinion, so there is no need to compare or align with bitcoin, because the segments are different.

Do not think that Facebook will be able to turn the crypto industry. Most likely it will be a parasite and will not be able or will not want to convey to people all the charm of the blockchain. Now such huge projects can not exist without the introduction of new tools. Therefore, popular projects will soon get more successful products.have good control over their cryptocurrency portfolio.

I is now clear that no coin or token will ever compete with bitcoin much more being its rival, so far bitcoin is taking up over 50% of the entire crypto market share and thereby dominating by a huge marketetcap, it took a whole lot of years with so much tribulations to get here, absolutely no coin will ever beat this, at least not anytime soon

No way that Libra is going to create some changes in our industry. Moreover, they already said that there will be no privacy in this coin and it is going to be centralised without any limited supply. What we are talking about?

I've been seeing several threads whereby people think Libra will be the new BTC rival, but that's a far fetched illusion.  There is no way any altcoin will rival the king, BTC.  I understand there might be improvement in architecture and new features, but it doesn't mean Facebook coin will be a rival.  Yes it will enhance mainstream adoption but it's a stable coin and also centralized, so it's no match for BITCOIN.

There is no BITCOIN rival to come but a big hand of help is coming.
YES< LIBRA is a big help for the bitcoin and all cryptocurrency in the world to get more acceptance and teach many people who are not yet aware.
This is a good addition for the global acceptance.

The rate at which bitcoin controls the prices of altcoins, has indicated that bitcoin does not have rival.
I feel like imagining what new thing Facebook CEO is planning to release, that will make it to have preference over bitcoin.
The acceptability of the coin by crypto enthusiasts is very important.
Bitcoin does not control the price of altcoins. prices are controlled by investors who decide in which assets they will invest their money.

Libra won't be competing with Bitcoin. Just as the US dollar or the Euro is not competing with gold.

us dollar and euro are both fiats/money or regular currencies but gold is an asset and its totally different  .

on the other hand , libra coins and bitcoin are both digital currencies which means they can also compete with each other just like bitcoin competing with paypal and other payment methods online  .

its a good news if there is another bitcoin rival that is coming because we can again witness a good fight  . lets see how this goes

There is now a name for the cryptocurrency-based payment system that Facebook is planning to debut in 2020 and it is called as GlobalCoin. Indeed, as the name suggest, it would be available globally (well maybe except China, Russia, Iran, North Korea and nations USA is not doing business with) starting with some hand-picked countries. Right now, the team established by Mark to tackle on this project has been communicating with some people involved with regulatory matters to thresh out things so they can start the trial maybe within this year.

With the Facebook empire at the helm and behind the GlobalCoin, people are getting excited and there are now many big investors lining up to be part of the funding circle hoping to snatch part of the estimated $1 billion the project is looking for. With Mark having the Midas touch, investors are thinking that this can be another opportunity of a lifetime. I am not sure though if Facebook will decide to also open the crowdfunding with small investors like in the trending IEOs we have today.

Wow! And of course, there will always be critics of this move by Facebook to join the cryptocurrency craze. There are objecting that what Facebook is getting into is not decentralized and hence can not even be called as genuine cryptocurrency akin to what we see in Bitcoin, Ethereum and the rest of the gang.

Now, considering all of these things and the very big potential of this Facebook project called as GlobalCoin, do you think that soon we can see Mark Zuckerberg not just the emperor of the social media but also the king of cryptocurrency? Or you think that this should be treated just like a normal (though it is very big) project which might also go wrong if the market will not be responding positively? What is your opinion with the foray of Mark into cryptocurrency and will Globalcoin one day be a rival to that of Bitcoin?

No doubt Facebook coin will be a great one in the crypto space and it will also bring about more adoption of cryptocurrency in the world. Having said that, Facebook coin will be a centralized coin because of its economic model and with its centralization features, I don't see it as a rival to bitcoin. Facebook coin will be great but I don't think it can come close to be a bitcoin rival.

It's not easy to be able to compete with Bitcoin, let alone replace the position of Bitcoin as the king of cryptocurrency, Libra coins have not been launched and will be released in 2020 and in my opinion is too excessive if it is said to compete with bitcoin because libra coins have not been launched.
Bitcoin is the most popular coin among other coins, and even though Libra coins will be launched later it seems too early to compete with bitcoin and must go through a long process.

Agree! It's too early to say that libra will be the king of cryptos. It's indeed early to compete with bitcoin. It has not proven its capabilities yet. We only hear positive things about libra but we actually don't have idea how is it going to be once it will be in the market.

What a pitty that Facebook Coin will not be launched. It could really help Bitcoin with a massive adoption.
Butwe learned that centralized cryptocurrencies do not have long future thanks to regulators.  Cry
