Wait, are they removing the 5 minimum today? Cheesy

The updated website is silent on minimums - that was a pre-order requirement.

I suggest you contact Innosilicon per the website and see what the GA requirement is (better yet, ask them to update the site with both price and minimum # required).

Also if I join this group buy, when would it be estimated that I would receive it?

No need to join the group buy. That process started in earnest July 1st and should have stopped as of October 9th when Innosilicon updated their website announcing general availability.

http://www.innosilicon.com/html/mining-asic/14.html

It is October 15th (in China) and per Innosilicon's  confirmation here in the forum earlier this week, they will begin shipping A4 Dominator miners today!
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.16518467

The good news is the update on the website states "Estimated delivery time: Starts from now and max delay is one month.  This means all of those people who ordered in July, August and September should not have to wait any longer than November 9th now for delivery.

If the information that Batch 1 is only 200 units is accurate, and assuming these aren't being 100% hand made, an assembly line can crank out 200 units easily within a week so everyone should have their pre-orders filled quickly and new buyers shortly there after.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.16445188

I'm hoping it's just 200 units as that will allow feedback from the pre-order buyers to sort out any production issues (firmware, hardware, electronics, cooling, etc.) and then really crank up production in Batch 2 (and if they follow the Bitmain model, the price will drop as well for subsequent batches).  Given the 45 day warranty period, I expect there will be flurry of feedback as early buyers rush to get their issues sorted really fast!  If it is only 200 units, then that's an advantage for the early buyers since 56GH isn't a whole lot of hash rate added to the scrypt networks (if it was distributed proportionally to the existing hash rate/ scrypt coin).

Looking forward to hearing about the first buyer(s) receiving their DHL tracking numbers!

Have you guys seen this style of A4?

https://toplinesz.en.alibaba.com/productshowimg/60534536318-222192674/2016_new_scrypt_litcoin_300M_litcoin_miner_300M_A4_miner_new_litecoin_miner_scrypt_litcoin_miner.html

Looks like China is going to town building there own A4 using the same A2 Cases. I got a quote of 2200.00 plus shipping for one of these. They say it comes with power supply installed.. Would be a nicer set up having everything in one box like the A2

That's an old A2 image with A4 written over the top. This other ad from Topline uses the same image but at least in this one they state that its a Pre-order and that the PSU is external: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/280-300M-Litecoin-scrypt-miner-A4_60500650737.html?spm=a2700.7724838.0.0.JQKghr

This ad from Newstar uses the same image again and also promises it will ship with a PSU so I wonder if re-sellers caught with A2 stock are going to retro fit the A4 cards? An upgrade path was certainly promised by Inno at the beginning, but who knows when they'll start selling the cards on their own. You might be waiting a while.

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Top-Selling-Litecoin-Miner-A4-280mhs_60544198110.html?spm=a2700.7724838.0.0.VBF9VM

$2200 with a PSU isn't too bad if the PSU is good quality. There were some issues with the A2 110 PSUs, one case colour  is better than the other if I recall correctly (different PSU's).

That's also one area where the original guidance from Inno was wrong. Based on the photos and videos of running machines we've seen, a single unit is drawing 540W and two units running together pulls 1048W @ 230v so if you want to hit the sweet spot I think we need PSU's >1100W and based on that number the A2 PSU's might be ok.

The only caveat is that we don't really know how much power the overclock mode uses.

Clueless!

Let us make it very clear, at the moment, all units are under tight control from Innosilicon due to lack of ASIC supply so only Innosilicon order enjoys higher delivery priority period. Any promise from non-Innosilicon sources on lower price or shorter lead time should not be trusted. Time is everything.

What about the "investors" you were looking for during the early days announments period for the A4?

How many of those did you end up with, and when are they going to get their share of the units / chips in accordance with the stated investment terms?

To the dogjunior - hint, MOST miners that have ever been released had a *30* day guarentee, often with some major limitations.
This is, UNFORTUNATELY, not out of line or uncommon in the industry.

The difference is that Innosilicon has made tons of A1 and A2 miners and chips that have proven to have a ROCK SOLID reliability record, KNC made trash that frequently died for no reason at the chip level and had major design flaws at the miner level that caused a lot more issues.

Not even CLOSE to "another KNC".

most asic equipment 2nd batch from knc to whomever has been cheap...no longer took paypal....and had that low warranty as you state.....also most asic equipment ltc or btc
also has major firmware problems the first 3 months till they get it nailed down (or not asicminer and mat)

the 2nd child seems to be the problem one imho ..so the firmware issues that may happen in above timeline and the 45 days warranty is the elephant in the room for me

On the website the A4 warranty for parts is 45 days. What the F***. So if the miner dies in two months you got to spend your own dime to repair. This inspires a lot of confidence. Another KNC.

Thank you for joining the conversation here.  The people frequenting this thread usually have lots of questions and having an official representative from Innosilicon here helps a lot.  Looking forward to the first batch shipping.  I see on the web site that there will be A4's with a much higher hash rate.  Do you know if those will be in batch 2?  Someone here was told that the batch 2 would be in the December time frame.  Any ideas if that is correct?

So it's 8:32 am October 8th in Shenzhen, the extended holiday is over, so it'll be interesting to see what's next up on deck from Innosilicon.

I snipped this from an email I received earlier in the week from Innosilicon.

"One thing we should claim is that we have no authorized reseller worldwide. We are the exclusive brand of A4 chips as well as our A4 miners.
We can guarantee the quality of our products but not others."

Grabbing my popcorn and looking forward to the new countdown for October 15th!!!!

T-7.......

You bet!

Question to Innosilicon:  Asicminermarket.com looks to be reselling the same hardware and software.  Are they a qualified reseller of the A4 Dominator?

It looks to me that this other company is just going to buy the units (if they exist) and then resell them individually to make a profit.

Warranties mean nothing -- if you have no recourse when they are not honored or it cost a fortune to ship them for repair.
