Hmm - raw header data would show IP addresses.

Have you looked at the raw email header?  Where is it coming from?  That can provide a lot of information.

I just looked at the header info and it appears to be coming from and going to [email protected].

Well I pinged Inno to see if there are any updates.  They have been feverishly busy working.  They have had a large number of visitors at their facility and have been signing contracts for equipment.

They however do not have any updates for us at this time on the A4.  They indicate they will get back to us soon on PSU's and some of the questions we have been asking.  I will keep you posted as I hear anything new.

Funny - who has been to their facility?  I don't get a response when I request a visit.

I don't know.  I am just passing along what they just told me via email.  Hopefully we will hear something more soon.  Huh

I am interested in ordering 1 unit, sign me up Smiley
I also would like to know which psu to order for it.

This is actually a valid question in this case.  Innosilicon has indicated they are not including a PSU with this miner in order to cut down the shipping cost.  So we do need to know what PSU they recommend for the A4.  I have sent that question to Innosilicon, but I have not heard back from them yet.

So the added cost of a PSU is not factored into the price we have been given for the A4.  Just a heads up.

Maybe it is better, that PSU is not included. Last time (A2 110Mhash miners) their PSUs were disaster. After short time half of them were dead. They put inside usually some black noname OEM 1000W PSUs, but was needed at least 1100W, better 1200W.
But not all 1200W PSU is possible to put inside, because some of these are longer than free place. I used OCZ 1250W. Important is 6 independent PCI-E cables (not splitted). It is possible also use CPU ATX4+4 to PCIE adapter cable. Also not all previous Innosilicon hashing boards had the same PCIE connector. Some version 6 pin, some 8pin, some 180degrees rotated...

At least some of the Mega A2 units came with an 1100 watt supply - STILL not enough though, and not real high quality reliable unit.

I replaced 2 of mine with the Seasonic X1250 - it's a hair longer than the OEM supplies were, but it's a good fit on both the cabling AND the hole for the fan.
The X1200 Platinum and the Titanium versions of that supply should work just too.

EVGA 1300 did NOT fit worth beans - cable interference was VERY bad and the fan hold had about 1.5 inches or so of NON-overlap, which would have been problematical for long-term operation when overclocking.

As of right now I'm tentatively planning on a 3-unit buy initially - depends on how Bitcoin price and Ethereum price goes over the next couple weeks or so....

The group buy is open until Inno says they are sold out of the Batch units.  As of right now it is still open.

If you order 3 or more miners you can have them shipped to a location of your choice.  For smaller orders we have an existing group buy order in place where we will be shipping to a member here on the forum and then shipping them to us from there.

So if you still want in on the group buy.  Just send an email to Inno with the subject of the Bitcoin Talk group buy and they will email you the bank account info for the wire transfer.  Shipping is currently scheduled for August, but can slip as late as September.

You can check your own shipping rates WW here from Shenzen.
http://safestmonster.com/kbase/shipping-delivery/dhl-rate.html

This company is in Shenzen and you'll notice the 11kg rate for shipping to North America is $81.34, almost exactly what I was quoted ($82).

What did it come out to per miner shipped?  What geographical area are you shipping to?
Shipping to Canada and it comes out to $82 per unit (Will probably change slightly by the time they ship). I was anticipating closer to $120 per.

I was quoted USD $82/unit for US west coast delivery.  Was your quote USD or CAD?
USD.  Maybe DHL rates are going to be similar to anywhere in North America? Guess we shall see soon enough.

Not bad at all.  I was expecting it to be closer to the $100-130 range... Is it August yet?  LOL
Come on August!

Yea, common Aug...
My less optimistic side was thinknig end of aug, but hey...
Anyhow, I have not received any shipping estimates yet, I bounced a note to Chloe to see when I could expect to get that.
I haven't heard anything about a order Queue yet. Do we want to get a order queue going to track who get's what when?

You should ping Chloe and ask her based on your location and number of miners what the shipping estimate will be.
Got my transfer confirmation and a shipping estimate that was $38 less per miner than I was anticipating so I am happy with that.

Now to see these things start shipping!!

I just realized that I have a bunch of the old Gridseed linear power supplies, the noisy/cheap ones. They do work, and put out 12V @ 30A.
Since each PCIe plug seems to require 10-11A, I could use one of these linear supplies to power 2x of the 8 PCIe connectors required for each rig.
That way, I can re-use the ones I have already.
Im pretty sure that if I connect the DC ground wires between the PSU's for a single rig, that will work, even if a bit funny looking.
I have 8 of these linear PSU's, and that should cover 2 of the A4 rigs.

Not sure what conclusions you can draw from a test of a single chip, how a complete rig will run in production, but it is encouraging that it has the potential to run cooler than previous generations.

It was uploaded a month ago and is consistent with their final specifications as this chip ran at 3.52MH and there are 80 chips in the machine (281.6MH).

The test chip ran at 1.55w/MH and was well below the default of 3.2W/Mh for the initial batch shipping which is also slated to be 280MH (896Ws, hence a 1,000W at the wall). I think this means the production chips will be running at ~2x the wattage (much hotter) of the test chip to get the same hashrate.  Really tough to draw any firm conclusions with such limited data!

Power efficiency: Initial batch will be defaulted at 3.2W/Mhs in Turbo mode, 2.2W/Mhs in Norminal mode, and 1.35W/Mhs in ultra low power mode

I was most impressed by the temperature difference, althought I believe they were running on the LOW setting of 1.55W/MHs
