And gambling is just like any other aspect of life that should be enjoyed regardless of the fact that some people needed to make a whole lot of money out of it,
when gamblers have high hopes of making money from gambling, then the gambler's situation will get worse.
That's the problem, raising false hopes. We have said it many times on the forum. Good gambling should be about having a good time and thinking that you might make money that day, but better to write it off, betting with money you can afford to lose and not pin your hopes on it. Believing that gambling is going to be the way out of your problems is usually the first step to making them worse.
The truth is that, most of these gamblers who allow themselves to fall victim to gambling addiction are all very much aware of these facts you’ve stated here, but still can’t resist the temptation of prioritizing the potential gains over the fun and thrill of the game, and the honest truth is that, a lot of gamblers who end up losing more than expected due to loss or wins chasing already know that chasing losses would lead to more losses but still can’t help it no matter how much effort they put to avoid getting caught up in that endless cycle.
I'm not reading through 20 pages to see if someone has already posted what I'm
about to post but here goes...
I believe that not all addicted gamblers are fully in control of their habits in
that they have an addictive nature, they fall victim to "addictive" hobbies, games,
activities, Gambling, Alcohol, Drugs, Food, Sex.
All of those things above are healthy . . . in moderation, as soon as
they become addictive by anyone they become unhealthy.
Most people know this and realise it when they are addicted but they cannot
do anything themselves about it, others know it but believe they can work through it,
and others still believe they are working through it while becoming deeper addicted.
