The same probably applies to gambling or any other kind of addiction possible. If you have no ability to levy control on yourself while gambling then its not going to work out and like above you have to avoid joining the same road which leads to your addiction.
I always argue a fixed budget and use that daily like a schedule but I understand those measures wont work for some. Good advice comes from people who faced down their addiction in the hardest way, dont start if you have no ability to stop is a smart choice.
On the other hand, if gambling addiction has a negative impact on yourself, your family or even your work, I think that is a sign to stop immediately. It's not bad to stop for a while, and come back again when things return to normal, because the purpose of gambling is to have fun, don't let addiction have a bad impact on life. We know that there is a lot of advice about gambling, and perhaps only a few can have a positive influence. Gambling advice should be used as a basis for overcoming bad possibilities in the future.
I was actually growing in to becoming a victim of addiction some time ago but was lucky enough I can came out of it as I understand better what exactly gambling entails, yeah is not something that one needs to completely rely on for maximizing profits or a job hence it will definitely ruin your life entirely where can even be borrowing to gamble, spending more time energy and resources, being very anxious, anxiety, depressed, not taking good care of yourself generally because all what you be thinking is how to get back your lost money and that is chasing your losses which is a very bad approach towards gambling which I now know better.
