Indeed, if you can manage to control yourself and allow certain budget for your gambling activities, it will lessen the chance of losing a lot and the chance of getting addicted, though it's really hard since there are many factors that can affect you during your session, it's wise to have this kind of limitations.

Well and I think everyone (gamblers) might have realized this, I mean self-control is very important because nothing else can help them except self-control. Yes I quite agree with you, besides putting limits, reducing the budget when you want to gamble is also very good because if in the end you lose it won't be too big. I think addiction or not depends on your intention when you go into the world of gambling, if you go just for fun with a small budget then maybe it won't have the impact of becoming addicted, but yes you also have to bring a healthy mind when gambling and don't overdo it because usually after that you will get emotional and always want to try it again. It's hard, but maybe you know what's best for yourself.

Once you practice and master this kind of setup, chances of having an enjoyable gambling will take place, a good and balance mindsets that will prevent you from increasing your appetite knowing that gambling will really try to push you to ask for more.

Well that's right, the wrong mindset of bringing lust and emotions in gambling is indirectly like they have mastered themselves, they don't realize it because maybe they are too chasing victory there and because of their lust it is difficult to apply the control they have previously prepared. So it's true as you said if you really want to enjoy gambling for what it is, you have to keep a healthy mindset, it will be more fun and don't put more expectations there because it will only make things worse.

Gamblers need self-control. If a gambler can keep to these instructions, it will help them, but so many gamblers don't get it. Why? Maybe, because they are too desperate to win a bet, if a gambler doesn't have self control, the gambler will end up losing everything he has, he wouldn't mind selling his property just for the sake of staking a game, and it is very bad. If nobody can't control themselves, it will make them turn an addict, and if anyone turns an addicted gambler, that person will no longer have a rest of mind because the person will always be thinking about what game to bet on and how to get money to bet on the game.

Self-control is the only thing that can help new gamblers in society, since they are new in the gambling world, they can easily control themselves and it will help them not to become an addicted gambler in future.

Talking about the addicted once, they control their gambling habits, that is why they are addicted to it.

I try to budget a certain amount for gambling on a weekly and monthly basis. It won't have a major impact on my gambling. If I lose  I stop my gambling temporarily until I come next time. If I win in gambling then I try to transfer that specific amount of excess money so that I don't have any difficulty in gambling. Although this kind of control in gambling was difficult for me in the beginning but later I was able to maintain it. If the limit is regulated by the fixed amount for gambling, there is less chance of losing and healthy gambling can be conducted.
Many people have prepared a budget for gambling, and that way, they can avoid losing a lot because they don't exceed their limits. But even so, some gamblers cannot resist the temptation and end up using more money to gamble. The reason is that they still want to gamble or want to recover their losses. That reason is quite simple, but it will only make them experience more losses, so they need to realize what it means to have had enough gambling for the day. If they could stop gambling, they wouldn't go so far as to lose a lot of money because it's not worth it. And if you can still stay within the limits, you are still luckier than those who don't gamble according to the limits.

Only by practicing regularly can we really control our gambling. With this practice, we can hope to change our gambling rhythm so that we don't lose as much. Apart from that, we always try to hold on to a certain amount of money and not spend it all at once in one day.

You can do that great, sometimes I also do that to cover myself from losses, but if you do it continuously it is like you just want to get money from gambling, there is no fun, satisfy the pleasure, friend until the end of the balance. LOL

It seems that if I do the things that you do will improve me in gambling to be better and not too far in gambling, but fortunately I also have a limit in the deposit budget for several time lags in one week, so I don't think it won't There are concerns because they are accustomed to this kind of thing, but when you get a victory, more time gambling.

This is a good practice.  Having a cap on how much we lose is one way of showing great control to our gameplay.  Many gamblers have set caps on how much they will lose on the gambling platform only to end up failing because they lose way more than what they intended.

Simply knowing what to prioritize will always keep us from spending too much on our gambling activities.  I do hope all gamblers know this kind of thing and practice it but sadly most know these things but failed to implement it.
Winning and losing is part of the game, the earlier we realized that the system is designated to make us lose money, the better, besides the best professional gamblers often record losses. We have goals to accomplish in the space, we just have to stick to what works for us, not minding what would others say. Gambling have torn many people apart, it will continue to do so, more often few gamblers already admitted their mistakes and have made quite an improvement in wagering games. We know our mistakes and basically aware of how risky the system have turned out to be. Some of us are just ignorant and having difficulty in  accepting our mistakes and facing the reality.
The first part is to learn to understand the loss basically because of the thrill of playing the great joy of winning and the experience of achievement, which the brain wants to have again and again but it is a good decision to refrain from self-control.

I wonder why it is a good decision to refrain from self-control.  As far as I know, refraining from self-control is like letting ourselves to go all out without limiting ourselves.  and it is very devastating to just let ourselves do what we wanted to do without any moderation, especially in gambling.  Indulging too much in gambling may result to gambling addiction or possible financial ruins.

They can take some steps to control themselves. This includes setting limits on gambling apart from this determining the amount of money spent on gambling can also be a good step in this regard. Gambling addiction usually makes people absolutely destitute so it is really a good idea to hold off for the time being if there is a possibility of failure it improves them and there is no chance of losing money.

This is contrary to your previous statement but I agree that moderating our gambling activity can save us from gambling addiction and financial ruins.  Also, as long as the person keeps on gambling, there is always a chance to lose money.

In fact, the thrills of gambling are unlike anything else. But have we ever thought about how much the other way might be? Strangely enough, not taking the risk might be the more exciting thing to do. By not doing something, you enter a world of "what ifs." By putting these money limits in place, aren't we also making up stories about possible futures that we never live? It's interesting how safety can create its own kind of mystery. Does the choice not to bet become a gamble in and of itself? Even more so when we think about the unclear results of not voting?

Therefore, if you don't want to become addicted in gambling, always play in moderation and think of the consequences if you lose control when playing. Gambling is not a source of income so let's keep that in mind.
yes, that's the importance of limiting your budget because by limiting your budget we know when to stop gambling, sometimes people are too busy targeting their winnings even though every time they reach their winning target they don't necessarily stop playing, they always continue playing until they lose again, it's important to limit their gambling budget so that Don't lose control and gamble too much because it can make us addicted later.

Another thing is the application of a healthy mindset because it is important to use a healthy mindset in order to be able to control ourselves when to gamble and when to stop gambling, the wrong mindset is that people usually always use gambling as their source of income, clearly that is A mistake, a healthy mindset is to think of gambling as just a game for fun.
Yes you both are totally right, budget is more important in gambling, if the money you have budget in gambling finishes you can quit for that day till when next you budget another one for it so you can not run lose and starts thinking or blaming your self for it.
There are still set of people who even if they budget them self for gambling they will still gamblile more, that is because they are not well disciplined.
For me I don't like getting online because I can easily fund my account, that's why I always keep the amount of money I want to gamble with, with me so when I am at the gambling shop, after beting all the money on my pocket I go back to my house or just take a walk.

It's hard to control this feeling, I also haven't been able to control it, even if the profits I make are far greater than what I have lost in gambling, playing again tomorrow is the gambler's thought.
As long as you understand the risks, there is no problem, especially if you feel your winnings are greater than your losses, usually new accounts are always Yes, it's hard but it's all for something good for yourself, but if you really feel your wins are bigger than your losses, usually new accounts are always like that get wins easily and very quickly, but that's the casino's way of reading behavior player if you keep playing the game and get too deep then you will get stuck with it then it will be easy for you to get addicted.

But there's no harm in playing tomorrow and postponing the game when you win, nothing has to be done quickly and easily, everything needs to be a process if you've had enough then withdraw and cash it in, then come back in a few days to play again, I often do what You also do this when I feel my winnings are bigger then I continue playing and finally at the end of the game I feel a losing streak without winning, never mind the winnings, even the capital money is also gone, at that moment I realize they are reading my gambling behavior, my advice is don't too far for that.  Wink
Recently I have been controlling the deposit money limit, and even if I lose money I never make a deposit twice in a game session, but what becomes ridiculous is when I get the win and continue to want to play, even though if I think logically it brings Everything that has been won is much better and more than regretting at the end when the previous winnings run out.

Strangely enough, feeling like there is nothing in gambling, on average my behavior after winning is always wanting more than what I have won before, therefore I am always curious and say 1 more time playing maybe I can get additional profits but the result is nothing.
It seems that the average gambler's behavior is like that, although there are some who are able to control themselves well, which is very cool.

One thing about gambling is that we shouldn't let it overwhelme our judgment in times of depositing, so I always draw a timetable on my gambling amounts which I will spend on either daily or weekly basis and it also applies on my wining ratios, I make sure even if I saw more good entries to gamble after my wining i always ignore it and take profits from the one I gambled because one thing about gambling is that no matter how many times you lose, something in you will always trigger you to gamble more in other realized the money you have lost and if you don't have control over it you could stand a chance of losing everything you have and that's when it becomes addict.

So like you said is good to control your deposit limits on gambling even if you win or not there should be a certain amount budgeted to gamble and shouldn't increase more than that.

This is just the basics, but anyone should be aware of it:

Budget: set it BEFORE you start gambling and stick to it.
Have a break from time to time, it is important to let your brain stop and consider.
Avoid drugs / drink as much as possible, they will make you loose some control innevitably.
Seek help if you feel you are no longer in control. Make a phone call to a friend or go out and speak with someone.

Anything else anyone can think of? Like... read this post before gambling? Tongue

The biggest one that I can think of is to completely cut yourself off from gambling if you're starting to feel guilty about playing for any reason. Maybe you've had loss after loss, or are spending too much time playing the game that you're not doing anything else with your life. Some people like to advocate restricting or weaning yourself off slowly, however in my experience that does not work. You've got to just reach the point where you decide one day that you'll not do it again. Continuing to play, even small amounts, is just reinforcing that habit and it will creep back up to the original point. It's liberating starting to feel in control again, but it'll take weeks and months of tough times to reach that point.

because addiction seems to be created by irresponsible gambling behavior by the gambler himself. who previously thought gambling was just for fun but when we don't have control over everything we do well in the casino. then what happens is something worse.
Gamblers who can control their activities will not have problems. even though they continue to lose, they will not be influenced to take revenge. On the other hand, those who do not have control can enter and lose everything in the casino like the assets they own, even carrying out criminal activities to fulfill their desire to continue gambling.
I still believe gambling is not that bad for those who know the limits of what they can do.
If each gambler could become a responsible gambler in gambling, we would not see many gamblers experiencing gambling addiction after gambling for a while. They will use gambling to have fun by using enough money and stop gambling in time. But what happens is that the more we lose, the more we want to recover those losses and use more money and we will even increase the bet amount at once. And that has gone too far in gambling and we should immediately realize it and prefer to stop gambling for a while. Otherwise, we will only be trapped in gambling without being able to leave it. Gambling is a way to have fun and as long as we can stay within the limits we have created, we will not have any problems.

Short answer : dont be an idiot and dont gamble more than you can.

Long answer: have a budget, dont be emotional, think a lot before bet, try to bet on game where your skills count and not only in games where luck its 100% of the equation.
And yet something so straightforward is beyond most people, even if there is a lot of evidence that gambling is just an activity that should be pursued as a form of entertainment, there are many people out there which believe they can make money with it, and as long as they maintain that belief then they are going to gamble more than what they can afford to lose and ignore all the warning signals, and only stop once they have lost all their money.
Because they're thinking it's easy to make money in gambling. Hence even it's risky and losing is inevitable, they keep playing with a mindset of hitting a big win that can cover their past losses. So despite of these warnings, no one can stop them to continue to gamble in the way they wanted to play. But many gamblers are responsible to not go beyond their limit and can control themselves on when they should stop. Because these gamblers are aware of the negative effect of gambling.

Therefore, if you don't want to become addicted in gambling, always play in moderation and think of the consequences if you lose control when playing. Gambling is not a source of income so let's keep that in mind.

For anyone who have consistently lose for let's say 3 or 5 days in a roll, it is not such a bad idea to take atleast, a week or a month break from gambling.
Gambling rules are very simple but the failure to play or gamble according to the rule is always grievous on the gambler.

For me , one and most important of this rule is to not gamble with money or an amount one can not afford to lose, it is the same rule that applies to crypto investment, where we tell potential investors to only invest as much as they are ready to lose since nobody can accurately predict what the price of the asset being invested in will be tomorrow or the next ..

So even if a gambler is gambling frequently, and he or she is always betting only as much as he or she can afford to lose, I think gambling will be very enjoyable for such a gambler .

Why isn't it a good idea to take a week or two off as break to readjust self and get some things right before resuming back to gambling, honestly it's not by how much we gamble or how frequent we do it as well, we need to apply some certain level of caution to how we gamble and we must realized that the more we are doing it and yet still getting it wrong calls for a change in how we engage doing it

I believe the one you quoted even suggests that a person who suffers a losing streak should take a week or a month break for gambling.  So he is not saying that taking a break is not a good idea.

Anyway, if a person is in control of the situation, a couple of day reflection is enough to decide whether he will continue with his gambling activity on another platform or quit his gambling activities.  We all know that different platforms have different results even with the same set of games.  Who knows probably a persn can be lucky if he shifted to another platform to play.

But obviously, we all need to be responsible in gambling to minimize losses.  So we should always be vigilant and set fund to the bankroll the money that we can afford to lose.

Resting after winning big from gambling is always recommended because at that point, you'll be feeling too invincible and if proper steps aren't taken, you might end up losing everything if you continue betting. You could also win more but chances are it'll be losses you get.

Take a break and come back tomorrow or postpone for sometime because using same strategy that won you yesterday bets mightn't win you more bets and that's why gambling is very unpredictable and people lose because they think they can use a pattern and win always.

Don't be too greedy when you win big to continue gambling and don't be too desperate to win back all your losses when you lose because both times you get the worse results from doing any of the two things. As a gambler, always make yourself discipline just like a professional.
Greedy behavior will not bring good for oneself in gambling, because in fact it will have fatal consequences in the end, that's why it's important to be able to control yourself, at least know when to gamble and when to stop gambling, because if we have difficulty controlling it, that's for sure. we will continue to gamble deeper and deeper and keep us playing too far.

Always limit any budget when gambling because it will limit us from becoming addicted. If we experience defeat and the daily budget limit has been used up, that should be a warning for us to stop playing, because if we continue it will not bring anything, be it wins or profits. Just use a healthy mindset by making gambling just for fun, not for making money. it will definitely help us to stop gambling for a while.

That's what we have to do before we start gambling. These are ways that can help us to stay within the limits that we have set. And with good self-control, you can enjoy gambling as entertainment without any desire to gamble excessively. And yes, always trying to stop immediately and take the winning money is one way to prevent more losses because we won't know whether we can win or lose in the next round. And what we can do is stop and withdraw the winnings or the money remains in our gambling account if we haven't reached the minimum withdrawal limit.

Controlling deposit limits before starting to gamble is always recommended so that we do not deposit money we cannot afford. Besides that, depositing a larger amount of money can tempt us to continue playing even though our plan is only to gamble moderately.

I am terrible at Fantasy Football!!!
