Since it's a fifty fifty chance, I expect both goals from both sides, more of attacking than defending, but then when you play attacking football the best defending side wins at the end of the day.

So in other words, Nigeria loses because I don't think we have defenders and goal keeper most especially as I haven't seen any outstanding performance our goal keeper has showed ever since been between the goal post for the national team. The last time we had a goal keeper that we can depend on was few years ago when Vincent Enyeama was in the goal post. Currently we just have a strong offensive side and when that get subdued we lose games as we're unable to score and defend just as we experience with Tunisia.

One positive from this whole disappointment from the AFCON is that we got to keep our national coach and not employed the service of a foreign coach as we previously enjoyed doing. We should learn from senagal, they stay with their coach for years and he finally gave them their first AFCON. African have talent and when we don't give them opportunity we kill that talent. The current coach is quite decent, we just have to give him time.

As a good sports man, I know this might sound funny but I want the best side to win for this fixture.
Yeah Nigeria has a performing squad at the moment but you see breaking Ghana won't be quite easy as it seems.

I think Algeria and Ghana is going to fall out of the race... with Senegal (Africa Cup of Nations 2021 winner) going through to the World Cup. I am not sure about Congo and Morocco and Mali and Tunisia.  Roll Eyes

As a Nigerian I will want my country to beat Ghana but I know it will not be an easy match as I expect the Black Stars of Ghana to pull one back on Nigeria after we defeated them at the just concluded AFCON. I tip Egypt to beat Senegal. Am undecided in Cameroon vs Algeria encounter because it can go either way. Morocco and Tunisia are going to cruise home easily against their opponents.

When Nigeria lost to Tunisia and got knocked out of the round of 16, Ghanian were the most happiest. They celebrated it like it was a win, that's just to show the rivalry between both nations.

That is normal. Countries and their teams get happy when those who defeat them get defeated by another. It is more obvious when it is an immediate elimination from a competition. Nigerians would have done same to Ghana. The Nigeria and Ghana rivalry goes as far as comparing their food too. Remember the jollof rice debate and how Ghana has still refused to give it up that Nigeria cooks better.

In Nigeria vs Ghana, I think I will also support Nigeria. Just personal opinion. But I think this match is going to be really great because it's the second-ranked African team against the third-ranked African team. (Ghana 2nd, Nigeria 3rd).

Still don't understand why Ghana is ranked above Nigerian. I understand they were better previously but recently they haven't been playing their best. Look at the last AFCON they where no were to be found. I'm sure they'll be putting in there best to beat Nigeria. South Africa is another country that has a problem with Nigerian but they aren't playing the qualifiers so issue there. Assuming we're playing another country, I can confidently tell you we'll win but since this is Ghana I'm only wishing. Hopefully Victor Osimhen will be available because we missed him at the AFCON, forget that Nigeria was doing well but it was evident we lack a striker in the Tunisia game that kicked us out of the tournament.

I think in Egypt there is only one player who is a big star and that is Mohammed Salah. Other than that I don't see much potential in Egypt. And obviously, they are going to look for revenge but I think they are still the least favorites here. I still see Senegal win against Egypt. and the other predictions also seem to be quite on point.
Yeah they are the least favourite and most of their players play in their domestic league, just few play in Europe but you should understand mo salah is a player that is capable of doing things on his own and shouldn't be underrated. Egypt team is not that bad and on the other hand i see a very tight game and it could be a draw game.

Muhammad Salah is a great player and I also agree that he can do great things on his own but at the end of the day even a great player needs his team to help him. So, I really think it is going to be tough for Egypt.

Despite that Egypt lost to Senegal at the concluded African cup, Egypt play good compact football. The style of Egypt without Salah will still remain the same because they play as a team and create enough time to groom players. Salah is a new discovery in Egyptian team but rose to firm faster through liverpool team.

Egypt does play a team game but I really think that they still depend a lot on Mohammad Salah. At least they do depend on him to score goals. And I think that he is the most capable player in Egypt. I also believe that he can hardly carry the team on his back.

On paper, Morocco and Tunisia are the favorite to progress to the world cup finals. There isn't much competitive in those matches. This two nations I mention are superior unless something was to happen that they lose. I will prefer they also go represent African as they have more chances of progressing to later stages of the tournament. Africa nations don't have good record in the world cup and hopefully that curse will be broken this time around as African players are among the best in the world currently.

For the other matches, they're very strong matches that any nation can knock out the other. Nigeria vs Ghana has very strong rivalry and that's the match of much interest to me as a Nigerian. Cameroon and Algeria would also be an interesting one too. Let see who wins first leg then we can be convinced on who is progressing.

I also agree that Morocco and Tunisia are the favorites. They are more likely to win. And also better than others. We have also seen the fans support the American and European teams mostly. But considering that the African players are really great right now I think that is going to change.

Egypt VS Senegal is going to be a tight match as the Egyptians will do all they can to pay back the Senegalese for winning them in the afcon final, but Senegal still the favourite to win though. Cameroon (Africa Cup of Nations 2021 hosts) is the better team to proceed with the performance they put up in the competition.... Nigeria is a better team than Ghana and are the match favourites.
I think Morocco is likely to win Congo, Mali to win Tunisia though Tunisia has got a good team as well but i think they are not as good as Mali.

So these teams will fight it out to qualify ...the winners of the two-legged qualifiers in March, will represent Africa at Qatar 2022.  Wink

Egypt v Senegal
Cameroon v Algeria
Nigeria v Ghana
DR Congo v Morocco
Mali v Tunisia

this will be a repeat of the final match and of course Egypt must be better prepared but indeed for Senegal of course they are already very favored with champion status some time ago.
I don't really look at other countries and just focus on Egypt now. Moreover, if you really see Nigeria vs Ghana, of course in this match it will probably be one-sided and will be more inclined to Nigeria

Algeria, Ghana and Egypt and I am also considering adding Tunisia to the list of teams that will likely drop out because the have no team and no coordination the only manage to play for a draw. Ghana and Algeria is even worst. Senegal are sure to go through, Nigeria is another team and I am pretty sure with the squad Nigeria either Senegal or Nigeria will make it through semifinals

I disagree with you if you think that Egypt lack ball coordination,  you can't rate Egypt with teams like Ghana, Algeria. Go back and check football history and performance of Egypt they have been doing better. Teams you can rate Egypt with as the same in level of performance are teams like Nigeria, Senegal,  Cameroon, this are good teams we all know they are trying.

Football is a game of chance like every other sport and you also need to remember that it is not every time that the team with the most ball possession wins. Sometimes the team that outplays the other gets to lose. We have seen that alot of time happen. Luck has a big part to play in soccer. We shall see how this battle for supremacy between Senegal and Egypt will end by the time both countries play each other for the world cup qualifiers. Let us leave the argument for now.

I advise you do not bet heavily on that. Football is not always predictive. Like they say that it is like biscuits that can break any way. If Egypt was an easy team to beat the Senegalese would have defeated them within 90 minutes at the AFCON.

They would have if not for Mane that missed the penalty in the early minutes that should have given Senegal more confidence. Senagal also had other chances but Egypt had a good goal keeper in-between the goal post. Without Egypt goal keeper Egypt didn't stand a chance against Senegal. The team that won the AFCON 7 times isn't this current Egypt team so we shouldn't think they're that goal.

Go rewatch the highlight or full match again, hardly will you see Egypt putting senagal defense under pressure. Mo Salad didn't even stress Mandy, the AFCON final probably was his easiest final so far as he wasn't called upon to save the day excluding the penalty shootout. The world cup qualifiers will be played in March, let wait until then to see the outcome.

Naturally anyone who does not like cheating will want Egypt to take a revenge on Senegal for denying them the trophy. All that is sentiment though.

I don't understand, are you trying to say Senegal stole the trophy from Egypt, did you even watch the tournament or watch the finals. All through Senegal were the better team.

No, I did not mean cheating in the real sense. I meant cheating like when someone would like equality. Since Senegal defeated Egypt in the last meeting that it will be a natural thing for Egypt to pull one back on Senegal. That was what I mean. It is the same way that the Ghanaians will be expected to retaliate on Nigerians. All that is expectations and does not mean it will happen.

When the world cup qualifiers will be played, senagal is likely going to out play the Egyptian as well. On and off paper, they have better team structure than the Egyptians.

I advise you do not bet heavily on that. Football is not always predictive. Like they say that it is like biscuits that can break any way. If Egypt was an easy team to beat the Senegalese would have defeated them within 90 minutes at the AFCON.

According to this report CAF has increased the number of substitutions in a match to 5 players amidst the increasing numbers of Covid-19 cases, recall many of the participating countries had some infected players, funny enough one of the rules stated if a country could not produce eleven players in a particular match may be due to covid-19 that team should have considered losing the match 2-0, covid-19 is really having an impact on this upcoming African Nation Cup some key players might not taste action or sidelined due to the pandemic thus such matches wouldn't be competitive to watch.
Link: https://www.cafonline.com/total-africa-cup-of-nations/news/totalenergies-afcon-202-update-on-number-of-substitutions-and-minimum-number-of-

Increasing the number of substitution in a match is really a nice idea, but if a team can't produce upto eleven players due to Covid19, the team will be considered losing the match is really a bad idea, Covid19 is a global pandemic, which have affected every part of the world and I don't think contacting Covid19 the players should be blamed because it's not really the players fault, it can be contacted at anywhere so I don't think losing the match is really a good idea the best thing I think they should do is to postpone the match.

I don't think they can scrap Egypt once more.
I know it's a fifty fifty chance for that game.
At the end of the game will surely decide, Salah will be back for a possible revenge.
I still think Senegal is the stronger team. For a 50-50 payout I would definitely go for them. Egypt will need a good strategy and a bit of luck to be able to beat them. The qualification game will be a different style compared to the final I think. It could be more open, and more inviting for the attackers.
