You should have waited until bitcoins went back to $5. You are getting a refund at the worst possible time (with regard to the exchange rate).

With an order in late 9000s, and confirmation on 2012/10/2, the exchange rate wasn't $5 like it was in July when some of us pre-ordered. It was what, $10 or $11? It hit $15, but dropped down a bit.

Not really familiar with ECL, but I think you would need a small nuclear reactor to power a decent mining farm.

I was mulling through the post by BitSyncom from Avalon posted regarding their process, and essentially the purchase order they submitted. I noticed that they're using CMOS logic-- makes sense, but I was curious if there was any thought put into using ECL instead or is that just too complicated of a design or impractical? I post this here because I was interested in getting a response from BFL-engineer (Nasser) regarding this.

Then proofing (1 week)+ final polishing (1-2 weeks) depending on external finish.

Can you get me side pictures, without me having to log into BFL, so I can see how many sliding cores (if any) the tool may need.

Josh already stated that it takes 2-5 days from design to product-in-hand. They must have someone local doing it for them. Stamping sheet metal isn't a difficult or lengthy process.

Where does it state mold tool? The prior-gen cases were not made of cast metal (they were stamped), and to be quite frank, it would be extraordinarily strange for someone to make a low-volume casing with molds and cast metal instead of stamping them out and anodizing.

Exactly. The cases are nothing more than stamped steel. Don't need any special mold. Just stamp out a couple thousand of them, put them in a press and presto you got a stamped steel case. Could pump out hundreds a day.
