In fact, altcoins can be a very profitable investment, if you make the right choice. Just in any case, you need to monitor the situation and trends in the market to buy and sell coins in time.
Yo need to do your research on these altcoins. There are some really good altcoins out there. I mean look at ripples and verge gains in 2017 at the end of the year compare to the beginning. Ethos and Storj also went up drastically. Bitcoin cash had some runs. Cindicator haven't been here for even a year and it already 20 times its original price. So you just need to your research.
According to me, we will see bull season 1-2 month later at the altcoin prices, we are now accumulate phase and we can continue few weeks more like this, and btc must increase over 10k dollar for this bull season.
The main thing in this market is to be very patient . A lot of people have been buying Altcoins lately .

Actually, altcoins are very much profitable it's just that you have been picked the wrong one. In altcoins you must be wise in choosing the right coin for you because if not, then you will really get nothing from this. Don't give up and try and try until you're done. Keep on waiting.

Man, i anderstand you and that is sad. But be sure, that almost all holders increase in funds if we talking about last six month. That was happening because price of bitcoin a lot decrease and alt's decreasing even more.
HI! As we can notice a lot of traditional segments of markets is interested in crypto! So I think it have good future but it can change anytime!
It all depends on what type of altcoin you are holding . The main thing to keep right .

I always tell my friends that you need to scatter your money on different coins, and bitcoin and altcoins. When all hands and the movements of the market you have total amount of will rise up. The main thing in time to fix your profit and withdraw money in Fiat.

The market will always follow what bitcoin does since it's the main pairing to all alts. Etherium is nice but it doesnt have as much volume as Bitcoin has.
OH, you want to buy some xrp? gotta buy bitcoin first. Oh, you want to buy some trx? gotta buy some bitcoin first. etc.
And everytime you sell bitcoin into ur altcoin, theres also a buyer who just sold his altcoin for ur bitcoin.
So if you want to break away from bitcoin in prices, you have to make more etheriums, more neos, more vens so ppl have more options to buy their altcoins.
Or better yet, pair them with USD, formerly USDT, but we see how that went.

"What will be the state of the cryptocurrency world if Bitcoin crashes to 1000$, a 95% drop from it's 20000$ peek?" - I think there's no any reason to believe that BTC will crash down to 1000$. The corrections has already been made, it's has built a nice support around 8600$ so we're entering the green zone. However, It's still possible to get below 8k, maybe even 7k so everyone needs to be careful. But... everything below 6k sounds like a sci-fi to me.

I think if bitcoin crashes everything will obviously fall. Including eth. It will stay at that point for about a week until it settles. Even if that settlement point is at 0. Then you would see a rapid rise in eth and since eth would be the main trading pair the altcoins would follow. Everything would survive in the end. But honestly the only way btc crashes like that is if a unfixable bug is found in the code. But if it crashes there would be that turning point to Ethereum.
I think you've become rich now. you've managed to hold altcoin for 6 months last year. chances are you have sold it in december.
I think altcoin is gainful in a long haul, however you have to pick the correct alts to put resources into, in the event that you are not going to put resources into the right alt's or to an alt's that has potential, you won't get any benefit from putting away it.

Probably you choosed not better coins for Investment either your time of Investment in the coin was not better , but here right now you have three options , first option is to sell those altcoins which are less dumped and out the money back in more dumped coin and wait for the perfect time to up the price .thankss😭
Second option for you is that , if the altcoins that you are holding are continuously going down then sell for usdt and buy again those assets when Thier price get start to high .
Third option is to buy more altcoins , but for this you need to have better amount of money to average the price at which you bought .
If you cannot do anything of these three options ( if you are feeling that I am not right , perhaps I tried for myself and everytime got success ), then you should remain at hodl and wait until you got back of your initial investment atleast .
