It depends on your choice, I can assure you that not all the altcoin will not bring to you a good result but some of the altcoins will be a profitable project in the future. So the selection is the vital and the most important task for getting the profit in the future.
Do not believe in long time holdings because we know the market is not stable. so you should always keep in touch with the market so you know when to sell a token. you should have a strategy now because you know too much about the marketplace so you can increase your sales instantly for whatever money you receive.
Altcoin will be very profitable for you if you hold it in the best altcoin. Because not all altcoins are profitable, considering that in crypto there are lots of altcoins and they compete with each other in increasing the price. So, do not waste your 6 month time with altcoin that is not qualified. Like ethereum, NEO, EOS, that is an example of an altcoin that I think is good enough and very supportive of you in maximizing profits.
I think the altcoins will live and prosper. Yes, maybe not all will survive the harsh rules of the crypto-currency market. But they will be replaced by new ones. And this cycle will never stop. While there will be a crypto currency
It seems to me that this question is always controversial among different people. After all, it is almost impossible to accurately predict the situation on the market, some altcoins show active growth, others die.
The most promising altcoyins of 2018 are crypto-currencies: Ethereum, Cardano, NEO, Lisk, Waves and others. The course of altcoyins in 2018 will increase several times, which automatically makes them one of the most attractive for investing financial instruments.
Market price are still low. Be sure if you are selling. Sell all those coin to get more profit. Be patience there is time for everything.I think investing is a good idea than selling.

It is better to sell all of your altcoins and start from 0 again but this now you need to have a better research and be patient in choosing altcoin so you can invest in better altcoins that will give you profit within a few months like 3-6 months. thankss😭
I personally believe that altcoin has a future. moreover, altcoin is increasingly using people. besides that some countries have started to legalize bitcoin or altcoin. for me altcoin is very profitable to increase my financial income. also a blessing for the unemployed.
Bitcoin has Hella problems outside of fees. Fees is just one aspect. 1 fees. 2 tx time. 3 scalability. 4 mining(its not efficient and its highly centralized(the hash rate). This is just to start. Now that being said there are plenty of alt coins that tackle these problems in more eloquent ways. Also value transfer is not the only purpose for alt coins. Bitcoin maximalist really need to stop with these posts on this sub.
I believe ITO and altcoins have future.
Also I believe that real sector of the economy is a current trend and it will expand to ITO market in the next few years. Being a great option for small real sector companies funding and investment, ITOs will boost global economy.
ITO is a very good investment tool which will help many companies to enter the global market. For example NAgriCoin has been in development for more than 7 years and is now ready for release worldwide
Also I believe that real sector of the economy is a current trend and it will expand to ITO market in the next few years. Being a great option for small real sector companies funding and investment, ITOs will boost global economy.

The future of altcoins is very clear, the price of ethereum will grow in the market just the same as other altcoins so everyone will earn a huge amount of profit in the future just like what happened last year.
The current price volatility will be lesser or eliminated once there is a big adoption from the people, so now let us position our self and be strong while holding.

Need to buy rights altcoins, with growth perspective and just hodl for 1-2 years. And don't see in blockfolio every hour.thankss😭
Altcoins do pump sometimes so when we are updated we can easily sell for a profit, also I use blockfolion to monitor my coins when at dip so I can buy more.

This is an old thread, but i love to answer this question. Altcoin future? Yes it is, I wonder how many people joined here and make a lot of money in the next couple of years the whole crypto will have a mass adoption. The pioneer we are into this blockchain world the better.
Many altcoins have a potential and productive in the market. You just need to choose the best for you. In the future this will be more and more. Now the people tends to invest in altcoin than any other business. becasuse they know about the future.
Of course many potential altcoins last for a long time, but with the increase of altcoins and now more than 1620 registered in coinmarketcap it is certain that it will make the competition very tight and will make many disappeared coins.
Hold for the future! 
The same way we are having some altcoins not experience huge dips now is the same way we will have some other more later on. Not all altcoins will survive, but most of them with good project backing will surely do since they will end up having real life usage and with that, they may end up being stable with the little up and lows as time goes on.
I think that altcoins have a future, because many altcoins have really good projects. The market is young and so far Bitcoin clearly dominates, but this will change over time.
