From my perspective, the next altcoin Ethereum, which is recognized worldwide. It is a very popular altcoin with many benefits (smart contracts, Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), and so on).
Other bitcoin rivals would be Litecoin, Monero, Neo, Cardano, Ripple, Iota and Bitcoin Cash.

Altcoin is next to Bitcoin and can be accepted worldwide ie Ethereum coins. Ethereum is one of Altcoin that has been trusted by many people and more and more demand. So it's worth it if Ethereum can be next to Bitcoin. Ethereum prices are always up from year to year will add a sense of trust for users.
Ethereum is the closest to BTC. There are really cool small alts like XRP and TRON that rise fast but they do not achieve what BTC achieved and, I'm afraid, will never achiene it. Ethereum was something really new for blockchain industry and it gave birth to lots of application-level projects that bring crypto to ordinary people with no experience in crypto (like that one), but they are just a way to use the ideas of ETH. I find them promising though

Bitcoincash have it's chance to be in 2nd place. We have ETH, Bitconnect, Dash, Zcash, Neo and Monero occupying the crpto currencies market.
I think some altcoins can become known around the world as bitcoin, for example Ripple, etheruim, neo, waves, MOSTLY tron.
Hard to say but ETH is the clear favourite. Neo and XRP also.

Altcoin which is beside Bitcoin and can be accepted all over the World ie Ethereum. I am sure among the other Altcoin, Ethereum is the most leading and can compete with Bitcoin.
